Yes, and he was not in the HS.

We definitely took that too far.

I got the two mixed up, you're right he did share Tarkin's hubris with the DS, Admiral Thawn knew the danger, and did leave the DS before it blew, but was shot down onto a nearby planet, and you had to rescue him in the TIE Fighter Game.

Do I hate Rocky Balboa? No, but I pity the foo' (Rocky 3)
If he dies, he dies (Rocky 4)
If I can do it, then youse can do it. Everybody can do it!! (not sure which one, but inspirational)

Classics. Nuff said.

Appropriate that the Holiday special came up in a 'should never have been made' thread. If the Holiday special is Canon, do you think we'll see Itchy and Lumpy in E3? Itchy and lumpy...Geez...

Beverley Hills Cop 3 should not have been made.

I actually went to the UK premiere of Battlefield Earth (my friend got tickets, can't remember how) and Travolta and the director practically apologised before the movie.

Rambo and his sargeant are surrounded by the entire Russian Army.

Sargeant: What d'ya say john? (implying surrender)
Rambo: ….Fuck 'em (Rambo starts firing at the army)

Classic. Personally I can't wait for Rambo 4. Rambo versus Bin Laden, one on one

Itchy is to Attichictuk as Chewey is to Chewbacca

Lumpy = Lumawaroomp... Which is worse than just Lumpy.

Not that they're better than the original Rocky, but I did thoroughly enjoy Rocky II, III, and IV. Rocky V should never have happened. Nor should VI. I can't say that Rocky IV sucked because I grew up on that movie and it still has one of my favorite sequences around. The scene where you see Rocky and Drago doing their concurrent training and seeing how their methods compare and contrast. That was a very cool bit.

Why did they need to make a sequel to the original? Didn't it have a satisfying ending?

Well, I suspect money is the answer to why they made Rocky 2, but as for satisfying endings, Rocky didn't actually win at the end of Rocky, so Rocky 2 was the rematch, and he did win.

And yeah, Boskk, I love that training scene too, and the music rocks. In Rocky 3 they had a similar scene but it was Rocky who was taking shortcuts in his training and posing for the camera while Mr.T was doing it hardcore.

That came out wrong. I meant he was doing some hardcore training...

I knew what you meant, YIYF. And I agree. I think that's why Rocky IV came out. Where Rocky showed Balboa losing and Rocky II showed him winning by contrast, Rocky III showed his as lazy and complacent and Rocky IV showed him during intense concentration. Bear in mind though that this does not mean that Drago is the lazy and complacent one. Just too reliant on Soviet technology.

Sequels that should never be... "The Sting part 2". Enough said.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Never saw either of them.

Bad sequels... any Jaws movie after the first. I know it's been mentioned, but I felt like a little reemphasis was needed.

Bad sequels: any Nightmare on Elm Street movie NOT directed by Wes Craven.
Predator 2
All the Highlander sequels (and in retrospect, apart from the Queen music and Clancy Brown as Kurgan, the movie itself was no great shakes either.)
I'll come back later with a more comprehensive list.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I loved the original Highlander movie, but only the director's cut. So much is missing without that additional information.

Which Nightmares were not directed by Craven?

I thought Predator 2 was OK. It was totally different to the first and developed the Predator's character/race. Now Aliens VS Predator on the other hand....

Just had a thought. With today's technology they should make Rocky 6 and Rambo 4 into the same movie - Rocky AND Rambo, or Rocky Vs Rambo...

Actually, I really enjoy the concept of highlander, and have all 4 movies, but do have to agree that their not the best...mainly due to continuity.

also, ignoring 2 (which just threw everything out of wack concerning continuity and making sense) they got better as they went on, all be it you really need to watch them all as seperate movies.

also the series is far superior to the movie.

but back on topic, what do people think about The Crow movies...havent really seen the second and third, but my feeling is that its one of those getting worse as they go on scenerio. Pretty sure Crow 3 falls into the sequels that should not be made category but what about crow 2?

I love and worship The Crow. One of my favorite movies of all time.

Crow 2 sucked terribly. Crow 3 was slightly better than Crow 2. Not enough to make it worthy of having been made, but still slightly more tolerable to watch.

I ACTUALLY KNEW JAMES O'BARR. HE WAS REALLY FIGHTING THE STUDIOS OVER THE SECOND CROW. HE DIDN'T WANT IT MADE OUT OF RESPECT FOR BRANDON LEE. IT'S FUNNY THOUGH THAT OUT OF ALL OF THE CROW FILMS O'BARR SAID THAT THE SECOND WAS HIS FAVORITE. HE SAID THAT IT STUCK TO THE "CROW" FORMULA. THE CROW RESURRECTS A PERSON TO PUT A WRONG RIGHT. THERE MUST BE A CAT IN THE MOVIE/BOOK. I WAS ACTUALLY HIRED TO WRITE A THREE ISSUE CROW STORY FOR THE CROW ANTHOLOGY SERIES, BUT DO TO PERSONAL PROBLEMS I WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE IT. JAMES WAS VERY UNDERSTANDING OF MY SITUATION. I STILL FEEL REALLY BAD FOR HIM ABOUT SHELLEY.

Huh? Clarification as I know very little about James O'Barr.
