Search functionality for the petition?

It would be cool if a person could search the petition. I'm curious if some of my lazy friends signed it, but it would take FOREVER to look through all the pages of names. Any chance of getting that functionality?

It's technically feasible. I'll add it to the list of possible future updates.

You could try looking in google. Type your friend's name in with quotes surrounding it & then see if this site comes up.

Google would not likely work well unless the name is that unique. I've typed my name in several times and it takes a page or two before I even get my own website to come up. And my name is not entirely common.

Very true. Imagine what it'd be like with my name.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Or something along those lines, I'm sure.

Besides, Google doesn't "spider" the site often enough to be up-to-date anyway.

FYI, Google has a feature where you can type "site:www.originaltrilogy.com blah blah blah" to search only within a specific site. I tried to find my signature on this site that way, but Google wasn't up-to-date.

No big deal. Webmaster Jay said he would consider adding the search functionality.

I didn't know you could do that. That's pretty cool (re: the specific searching on Google). I'll have to try it.

Remember way back when we asked about a search function for items within a thread instead of just topic names? That would be really helpful.

I know other forums that can do it, and it's a great tool.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Yeah, but I think Jay said that the software he used for the Forum didn't allow for that functionality. C'est la vie. It's not really all that big a deal.

But I think Jay has bigger and more important things to worry about than searching threads.
