There must be a work-around that I haven't tried yet for this "Error : Torrent File Empty" torrent. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm not letting this one get away!

myspleen won't let me in on the main page "user id not recognised" although the link to the torrent works. would that have something to do with my problem? do you need to be logged in to myspleen to get this?

Yes you do, since they have a ratio system going.

I couldn't play this back in my standalone pioneer dvd player. Same thing with the Behind the Scenes of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade disc. The menus worked, but as soon as the player got to the mpeg, it just froze. Works fine on my computer though. Anyone else have this problem on their standalones?

Strange considering they were authored by two different people. Methinks maybe it's your player. which are you using? do you only have one?

I just sent Boomstick the disc art. I don't think there's a way for me to add it to the existing torrent. If anyone else wants it, we could either post it here or you could email me.

Boomstick, want to post it here?

I'm using a Pioneer dv-535 (it's a European model). I have never had any problems with it before or after. The first Se7en disc works so-so. It gets to the menu, but then locks up. I can still click enter though, and when I do it seems to play the film with the commentary fine (I haven't watched the whole thing yet). The second disc locks up once the intro gets to the "A digitalfreaknyc production" bit. If I stick it in my computer, it plays the intro fine, but the menus are messed up and you can't tell what you're clicking. It's the same both when I try to run it from a burned dvd and when I try to run the files I downloaded directly off the hard drive.
Are everyone elses copies running fine?

apparently.

i've had no other complaints.

i had no problems on my pc or my newer player/burner which is attached to my tv. my main dvd player (which is older than both the pc and the recorder) has some problems playing the music tracks on the second disc but everything else works just fine. how old is your player?

Hey digitalfreaknyc,

The discs look great! One question: I seem to remember an interview with Rob Bottin talking about the special effects. It's actually him on screen, not just the make up essay audio. Am I high or is that missing?

You're high.

There was nothing like that...unless it was included in the EPK which is on the official 2 disc New Line release.

OK, you're probably right. What I'm thinking of is definitely not on the DVD, as Rob Bottin's stuff was what I missed most (that and the original, better commentary).

You know what, I might be thinking of The Howling. Now it's driving me crazy. I'll check tonight.

(In my opinion, Rob Bottin may be the best (and most under-appreciated) SFX master of all time.)

Sweet! Did you have a chance to download them yet?

Yep, completed yesterday and am currently seeding it (DF004 at 213%) and Great Movie Stunts (DF002 at 440%). I'm burning them now and will take home to compare and enjoy (I didn't have a chance last night).

You know, I should make a list of my Laserdiscs and post them to see if you or anyone else is working on any of them since you beat me to the punch on se7en. (Yes, I'm still kicking myself ;-) I don't have much else that's worthy, but I've been hanging on to about 30 discs and just haven't gotten around to converting some of them. They finally did a decent Jaws release, so no need hang on to that one anymore, heh. I have to compare my Snow White SE with the DVD, though. There are several things on the Strange Days LD that aren't on the DVD release...

Anyway, another question: There are several Special/Limited Edition DVDs that aren't available commercially anymore (Fight Club and Total Recall spring to mind, and I know I have a bunch that aren't springing). Are these things people should share either via trade or myspleen? I think it would kind of be on the border for myspleen, but technically they aren't available any more...

(I'm pretty new to the fan edit/trading scene, so please forgive if this is a FAQ or something everyone else knows about. I didn't search the forums either since the question is embedded with other things, so I'm sure to be pounced on.)

Actually...Fight Club is still available at Best Buy as a 2 disc. Others may be as well.

I'd rather not do stuff that's available on DVD...OOP or not. I'll leave that to other people if they want to do it or not.

On a different note, a couple of people are complaining on myspleen to have problems with the stills/audio only portion of the 2nd disc. Is anyone else having trouble? I'm assuming not since I haven't heard from anyone else about it. I know that the second disc has problems in my older player but not my newer one. Not sure how to get around this problem. Let me know.

What authoring software did you use, and how did you author the stills?
