I know one site where to download Se7en but it's an invite torrent site. I'll send you a PM.
Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Sorry for posting here as well as in the Criterion topic, guess I should have found this one first.

Could anyone convert the commentary track from the first disc into MP3? I'd really love to hear it, but I wouldn't want to download four gigs just to get it. Also, the only place where I've seen it, Myspleen, has no seeders.

Anyone?

I am a HUGE fan of Se7en and I have a copy of the LD's - but my LD player has since died.
Can you please let me know where I can download the commentary track and the extras from this set - as they were not on the DVD or BD releases.
All the links seem to be dead and I can't find any online....
Any assistance would be VERY much appreciated.
Thanks

Also looking for a link for this also. Already have Bram Stoker's: DRACULA LD to DVD conversion.

Hi all, I like DF's releases, they're really good, however I was looking into Se7en and was wondering, what exactly isn't on the 'Collector's Edition' DVD that's on the Criterion Laserdisc?

DF's Disc 2 contains: Dailies, TV Spots, Original Introduction with Commentary, Make-Up Video Essay with
Commentary, Production Design Video Essay with commentary, over 1000 photographs in a photo gallery,
original motion picture score (audio only) and an easter egg.

And this review site indicates: " It was a fabulous array of material, and the only things missing from New Line's Platinum Series two-DVD set are the make-up effects with commentary by Rob Bottin, the outtakes with Brad Pitt, the deleted artwork for posters, and a few other things (which Pitt and Fincher even mention in their commentary on this DVD release). And of course, the many commentaries — some short, some feature length — seem to be new." http://www.dvdjournal.com/reviews/s/seven2.shtml

What exactly are the "few other things" as it seems DF's Disc 2 has more stuff that's was on the 'Collector's Edition' DVD than wasn't. Can anyone elaborate? Thanks.

The only carry-over is the alternate opening, I believe. EVERYTHING else is new. That review is incorrect.

I beg to differ, does anyone have "Platinum Series" DVD and DF's Disc 2 and have compared already?

Is the difference like the main feature's commentary and the extras that have commentary, the commentary is different? I have found no descriptions that indicate the commentary for the extras is different between the LD and DVD.

Edit: I don't think the DVD is missing as much as is said/implied, but I dunno for sure, however see below. Either way, it doesn't include some  Rob Bottin stuff, which I want to see.

Seems like the "Platinum Series" DVD contains the:

  • Original Introduction with Commentary
  • Production Design Video Essay with commentary
  • over 1000 photographs in a photo gallery (Perhaps not all photos were brought over?)
  • easter egg

What's missing from the "Platinum Series" DVD (which isn't that much) is:

  • Dailies (And possibly some Outtakes?)
  • TV Spots (Or is this included on the DVD?)
  • Make-Up Video Essay with Commentary
  • original motion picture score (audio only)

See: http://www.thedigitalbits.com/site_archive/reviews/seven.html

  • Exploration of the Opening Title Sequence video clip with multi-angle/audio options (3 video angles and 6 audio tracks, including DD 2.0, DD 5.1 EX, DTS 6.1 ES, 96/24 PCM stereo, Concept commentary and Sound commentary)
  • Deleted Scenes and Extended Takes (original opening, animated storyboards of original opening, plus 6 other extended scenes all with optional Fincher commentary)
  • Alternate Endings (original test ending and animated storyboards of un-shot ending both with optional Fincher commentary)
  • Production Designs video clip (with commentary)
  • Still Photographs video clips (John Doe's photos, Victor's Decomposition photos
  • Police Crime Scene photos and production photos, all with commentary)
  • The Notebooks video clip (with commentary)
  • Se7en theatrical EPK featurette
  • theatrical trailer
  • cast & crew filmographies
  • Mastering for Home Theater video clips (including Audio Mastering, Video Mastering, Color Correction Demonstration and Telecine Gallery of 3 scenes with multi-angle/audio options that let you compare the old and new video transfers and DD 5.1 mixes)
  • credits Easter egg
  • PC Friendly DVD-ROM extras (including Script to Screen screenplay access, a link to a "John Doe" website and studio weblinks)
  • animated film-themed menus with sound effects and music
