Screen recording in DOS

Now that Kaal-Jhyy has made a release of the cutscenes in "Jedi Knight", I've been thinking about doing one for "Dark Forces". DOS graphics or not, the cutscenes were excellent. I've already done a few tests using DosBox and of course, the overall quality is great. However, the problem is that DosBox loves to eat up my memory and when you run a recording program at the same time, you know... The recordings I've made skip like hell and of course, that's unacceptable. I've tried doing some recording in "pure" DOS (XP-DOS, that is) and while the game runs much smoother there, I can't get any image. So my question to all you tech-savvies out there is what programs and settings you'd recommend. Thanks in advance.
"The things that stick in my mind and make me laugh were, like, memos worried about whether or not the Wookie should have pants. They're looking at this thing and saying, "Couldn't he have some lederhosen?" This is great. Of all the things to worry about, the Wookie has no pants." -Mark Hamill
