Hi guys, any updates on your cooperation?

I haven’t heard anything from anyone so I’m in the same boat you are pittrek.

Hi, sorry I’m new to this. I have all of them recorded in SP mode back when they aired, one or two are Nimoy and the rest are all Shatner, I don’t have time to transfer them so they have stayed in VHS all these years…

Would you be willing to lend them to somebody for digitizing?

I would be happy to send them to you to keep, you would have to cover shipping
(approx. 79 video-tapes). Would you also be willing to make copies on disc to send back to me?

I would be willing to take on the challenge but I will need some assistance to do so. I don’t have enough HD space or discs to accomplish it. I have the capture capabilities.

How many people would be interested enough in the project to maybe donate if I set something up?

Sounds like a plan. I am an European guy, so shipping 80 VHS tapes to another continent might be a bit more expensive 😃 Jetrell Fo is definitely a better candidate for it.
And sure, I have no problem to paypal you some “financial support” and I hope I’m not the only one 😃

I’m going to try to make this alot easier, I have a VCR/DVD recorder combo, so I will record each episode (I have completed the first three), it will take a while as I will try to do at least 3 per week. But when I get them all onto disc, there is no loss in picture quality from the orignal VHS and it will be much better/easier/cheaper to ship discs instead of dozens of VHS tapes. Also, after watching the first 3 again, I can give you a bit more details on the recordings: Some of the episodes were recorded with the original commercials, others were recorded with most of the commercials cut-out in order to fit two episodes onto one tape using SP mode (I used extra-long tapes for some of them). So it is not 79 tapes it is probably about 45-55 tapes. Also, I cannot find one of the tapes that had both ‘The Cage’ and ‘Turnabout Intruder’, I have looked for it everywhere so I am hoping it will turn up. These tapes have been sitting around for years since I moved across country back in 2010, but if those two episodes remain missing it would be great if someone on here had them.

May I ask what make and model combo it is? My personal preferrence is stand-alone machines. My AG-1980 SVHS has it’s own TBC and helps give the tapes a better life than what you’ll get from a combo machine of any kind

1. are these the Shatner versions or the Nimoy versions, or a mix of both?
2. would you have a problem if parts of it appeared on youtube as a part of bigger documentaries?

I am not familiar with this model. If you would rather do this project yourself just say so. I won’t be offended in any way.

So … somebody started to post a couple of these episodes on myspleen, for those of you who are still interested in it. But still the other 70+ episodes would need some preservation 😃

Oh my God, the quality is fantastic, MUCH better than anything which appeared on myspleen or youtube. I really, REALLY hope that some American fan here would be interested to finish your captures

I’m TrekSE1998 back again with a new handle because once again I’ve fumbled away whatever accounts I was using before for this niche project. I am assuming that there is still no complete source circulating for the Special Edition material.
