Idea: 'Salem's Lot' (1979) - a theatrical version preservation?

When Tobe Hooper directed the adaptation of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot for TV, it was cut down from 184 minutes to 112 minutes and released theatrically overseas, with a few bits of explicit footage thrown in for good measure. (This scene, featuring George Dzundra and the legend that is Fred Willard, is one example.) This abridged version has never been released on DVD. Using a VHS copy for the alternate scenes as well as the DVD, I’m working on a preservation of this cut. Although predictably incoherent in some spots, it’s obviously much tighter and I know it has its fans - plus it’s a cool bit of Tobe Hooper/Stephen King history to have.

Does anyone have anything that could amount to some cool bonus material? The Region 1 DVD has the overseas theatrical trailer (unfortunately I’m stuck with the R2, so will need a copy of this), and a cool Japanese trailer has shown up on YouTube. But I’m looking for any interviews, any excerpts from clip shows (a la 100 Greatest Scary Movies), anything like that. It showed up elsewhere under the alternate title Blood Thirst - the alternate title sequence, if there is one, would be cool.

(Note: Given the source DVD and VHS are from the UK, this project will probably wind up being PAL rather than NTSC.)

I have a VHS copy of the double feature that Warner release in the UK (it should be in the attic) if that helps. It's this version

Scared the life out of me when it was first on TV. Couldn't sleep for a week after Part 1 and never saw Part 2, the conclusion.
Years later I hired it on video. Fell asleep during the first part and woke up to a tapping noise. It was the guy floating up to the window in the fog. Scared the life out of me again. I've bought it on DVD and am yet to see the end. A longer cut would be great!

bigrob, that's the same VHS I'm plucking the alternate scenes from. But thanks anyway!

A prize to anyone who can tell me who plays the vampire child bride on the right hand side

I was just thinking of this the other day. Has anyone gotten anywhere with this? Me personally I prefer the miniseries version but it would be nice to see the movie version preserved and it is a better paced than the miniseries version.

Everybody knows that Starz/Encore Showed the original miniseries in it entirety just last month, right? This would have scenes not in the theatrical version I would think.
