I intend to. Any particular server people care to gang up on?

If my computer would fucking partition and allow me to use bootcamp I would.  But nope.  My computers somehow always end up damaged goods...

I've heard nothing but bad things about this game.

Let me know. I've never MMORPGed before, so not sure how it works.

I'll be the level one dude with a name variation something along the line of "Boost"

No, seriously.  I'd be all over this if I could just partition my computer...

Really? Or is this sarcasm? I've heard almost nothing bad about this game.

I'll go for a US server (apart from about 3 OTers, not sure who else is from elsewhere). I'll likely choose bounty hunter. Name still up in the air. Will figure it out hopefully early Thursday. LOTRO is my game, so far no other MMO has been more compelling. I've heard TOR is a good solid game, but not all that different from many others. Nonetheless, I have my weakness for Star Wars.

Apparently, play is limited to your character's origin and capital worlds. Hmm. We'll see.

Any idea what's causing your partition woes?

What sort of disc are you trying it with?

As for me, I'm not really interested in that sort of game and I'm busy doing my spring cleaning at the moment.

There's nothing worse than dirty springs, ken?

I'm on a Mac and Bootcamp simply says it's unable to rearrange the space.  I've researched the error and there are a few solutions, but most involve tinkering with the system in a way I'm not comfortable with (I can navigate Command Prompt in Windows, but Terminal in Mac is a whole nother story) or using pay programs to defrag my macbook.  Anyway, I'll probably give it one more go next time I'm home and I have my install discs handy.

edit: of all things that have been preventing me from partitioning my hard drive, it appears it was my copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special.  Not sure why my computer can't move the ISO, but hey.  Ended up using this guide to diagnose my problems.

I imagine you have tried all this but you never know when a link comes in handy.

You can run fsck for any disc issues and it usually works for me.

If anyone else plays, I'm a human named Joso on Krayt Dragon server.

Really. Though it was mostly in chats, and humorous comics using footage from Episode III, so I can't remember what the specifics were. Basically that people were reporting bugs/issues, and the devs were ignoring and/or banning people, and just generally poor customer service (I seem to recall something about banned members being unable to cancel their accounts).

I did a quick search and this was the first thing that popped up: http://neverdc.com/games/star-wars-the-old-republic-losing-subscribers-estimated-numbers-players-unhappy-bugs-not-enough-content-world-of-warcraft-after-q4-2011

Maybe your disc is Fat32 and the SW ISO was over 4GB.

If you want a Myspleen invite, just PM me and ask.

No, Mac uses its own proprietary system.  Plus I never should have been able to download it in the first place if that were the case anyway.

Grrrrrrr.

Didn't get to play.

My wife was doing this Flash Mob thing Saturday, which instead of 3 hours took almost 10, so I had both babies.

Sunday I sat down to install it and give TOR a whirl, but it needs some kind of dual core processor or something, and by the time I could get all that figured out and working, I'd only have about 90 min to play.

Stupid world. :(

You can get a week trial pass if you know someone who has a subscription.

It was a lot more fun than I expected. The Sith story line was engaging. Not worthy of a novel or anything, but fun for a game. There are so many visual elements and EU lore that just don't make sense, so if you're a purist you have to super-suspend disbelief.

The game world felt overly restrictive, no room to explore as everything was constricted to paths. The story likewise keeps you on a narrow track, though compensates by providing a semblance of choice. I made some choices I'm not entirely proud of...

Combat was fun, I played about 4 different classes and they all felt powerful and were able to heal themselves up quickly between battles. There was no death penalty I could discern, except having to go back to camp if you die too much in a short period of time. Nice change from other games.

I have little interest in continually paying for a game, but maybe if I were more enthused about the current state of Star Wars (or more into gaming) I would.
