Vader and Obi-Wan.

Not some little green gnome speaking bad Basic [=English] or yet another angry blonde teen "bad mofo wannabe".
I saw the original theatrical release of the Old Trilogy on the big screen and I'm proud of it...
How did I accomplish that (considering my age) is my secret...

I feel I gotta justify my answers.

1- Yoda. And that is mostly because of how Vader/Anakin's image has being degenerated over the years. After the PTs, I cannot see that character the same way. Also, there are a few discrepancies of how the character behaves on ANH, TESB and ROTJ, that have bothered me. Yoda was also buthcered on the PTs, but his essence remained the same. While having little screen time on TESB, and VERY little screen time on ROTJ, and being a freaking puppet on Frank Oz's hand, he had such impact and was such a great character, he became a myth as itself. Therefore, Yoda is my choice. His use of the force lifting the X-Wing is more of a valuable moment than Vader force-chocking people.

2- Luke. This was VERY tough, but the justification came easily. Luke was able to achieve what Obi-Wan wasn't, the redemption of Anakin and the fall of the galactic empire. Also, Luke is a character who has progressed in such a way during the OTs, that it grew bigger than Alec Guines's character.

I feel easily able to pick Luke over Obi-Wan for the reasons that ric just described as well as my own tastes. Luke just served a greater overall importance to the real story. Obi-Wan helped guide Luke to that destiny. As for the other, I'll have to get back to you on that. Both were wonderful in the OT but were very much screwed over in the PT. I loved both characters in the OT, yet they both annoyed me in the PT. It's hard to make.

Ditto all that everyone's said. I am going to try and completely ignore the PT in making my decision...

Yoda

Luke

I chose Yoda because he was the focal point of my favourite Star Wars scene period. When he lifted that X-Wing out of the swamp it spoke volumes upon volumes about the Force.

What Ric and Gaffer said are my thoughts exactly, and sadly the PT has tarnished all of these characters, except Luke. Therefore, I am going to follow RedBaron's lead and use only the OT to guide me in my decision.

And that decision is...

Yoda and Luke.

But the way things are going it looks like the final is going to be Yoda Vs Luke, and that is going to be super-tough.

Both Yoda and Vader were tainted in the PT, but Yoda was still essentially Yoda, despite the Crouching Tiger stunts. Vader was whiny Anakin -- tainted even more so by that self parodying "Noooooo!" I chose Luke because he could do what Obi Wan could not, bring Vader around and back to the light.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

Looks like Luke's trashing Obi, but it's a tie between Vader and Yoda. I don't want to prejudice anyone's vote, but just think about when you first saw ESB...
