Info: For sale on ebay - SW / ILM 16mm stuff

There’s an interesting auction up on eBay right now on a 16mm reel of the 1976 trailer, but of even greater interest is that also included are two 8mm films of “Estes Rocket employees researching the Star Wars models” at ILM. I’m not exactly sure what that means, but maybe some of you do:

I don’t plan on bidding, but if anyone here wins the auction and would like any or all of it telecine’d, let me know and Puggo will come to the rescue. He can do both the 8mm and 16mm reels.

Looks fascinating. Hey are you helping Jambe with his ESB SPFX telecine?

The same seller also has slides apparently taken at ILM in the glory days!

Well my 16mm SPFX hasn't sold. So u are welcome to attempt a telecine if you want.

By the way, these ebay items look VERY interesting.

Excuse my ignorance, but is SPFX available already as an extra somewhere? If you're trying to sell it, I'd presume that means it's already been transferred. Not much point in my telecine-ing something that has already been made available (if it's a nicely-done version, that is). But if not, I'd be willing to digitize it.

Again, I'm not planning to bid. But if someone here snags them and needs the 8mm and/or the 16mm motion pictures transferred, let me know.

The best version on DVD out there of SPFX is a capture from a Japanese laserdisc. It is fairly sharp, but it has burnt-in Japanese subs.

Jesus, $421 for 5 minutes of rare footage? What's that, about 84 bucks a minute?
