Does anyone have an ongoing SW comic right now? I think I saw one called SW: Empire by Dark Horse, but only for a second. Is this an ongoing series? Are there any others?

Yes it is an ongoing series.

Republic is another ongoing series and I like it much better than Empire.

Republic is, well, set during the waning days of the Republic(starting around Episode I if you count the ongoing series not named republic before it) through Episode III, where the series meets up with the Empire series.

And yes, if I'm not mistaken, they are right there with the EU as "canon."

Even more so now that Quinlan Vos was mentioned in Episode III(a main player in the ongoing "Star Wars"/Republic series since around 2002).

When Anakin "missed" the meeting about the war and troop movements Obi-Wan said something like "Master Vos has moved his troops to Bos Pity."
