I wonder if Artoo's lack of rockets in the OT was ever "explained" in the EU.

I definitely remember reading about it, not sure where though.
I just found this on Wookiepedia:
"...the company responsible for the development of his boosters, was shut down, and his rocket boosters were eventually damaged and thus could not be repaired. Despite this, however, R2 hardly regretted the loss of his ability to fly."
It's like a backwards retcon, haha.
About "the start of the Rebel Alliance", Pablo Hidalgo said, "The TFU version isn't canon." You have no idea how happy that makes me!

Bah. Give me a good guy who looks like Jason Voorhees, weilds a red lightsaber, but isn't a Force-user, and then I'll be interested.
Sounds like something George would have come up with for the Clone Wars.

hardly regretted his ability to fly?? how many times in the original trilogy would boosters kept him out trouble? he wouldn't have fallen in the swamp and got swallowed on Dagobah, he could have flown to Luke's aid on the sand skiff etc, etc

George is incapable of creating ugly protagonists.

Is Rahm Kota still canon? That guy is awesome.
Don't know if these are official but they popped up on my twitter feed.
A Goon in a Gaggle of 'em
Very retro. :)
Where were you in '77?
Yeah, Bkev. Been seeing them pop up periodically on my Facebook from the Rebels page. I love them. Star Wars propaganda posters are great, and these are top-notch.
Keep Circulating the Tapes.
END OF LINE
(It hasn’t happened yet)
They can't be real. No Imperial worth his salt would ever allow a poster displaying alien trash operating alongside human officers to ever see the light of day ;-)
Yet Imperials work with such trash all the time. ;)

Oh great, the guy who starred in the Wing Commander movie. Just kidding. ;)
Did I see a Wookiee in the storyboards? :)

I just fail to understand how can people allow themselves to be dictated by others. For me TFU was never canon. I couldn't care less about LF designations.

Just because the "trash" is being exploited, it doesn't mean they are "one of them".

Uh this is going to suck... as I predicted.
An awful copy of Kyle Katarn.

Working with and paying such individuals still makes the Empire a bit hypocritical.

I'll reserve judgement until I actually see a completed episode or two.

Begs the question; Why the hell didn't they just go with Kyle Katarn?
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.

Because Filoni and Weisman don't want to contradict the EU.
Maybe they would have to pay the person(s) who created Kyle?
The character of Tom Paris on Star Trek Voyager was originally going to be the dishonored cadet Nicholas Locarno from The First Duty episode of TNG. They literally changed the name and little else about the character, allegedly to avoid paying royalties to the writers of the TNG episode. Both characters have a Starfleet Admiral father, played by the same actor.

LFL 100% owns everything created under the Star Wars brand and the EU authors are aware of this when they sign up to write EU.
I think I'd be more interested in Kanan if his lightsaber wasn't a generic blue and none of that crap with the Inquisitor was in there.
