I’ve been thinking, it’d be a damn shame if we don’t see at least one Rogue One character this season. Rebels is now what, 3 years before ANH? Getting pretty close.
I understand not putting a Rebels character in RO, that just makes sense, but why not the other way around? Would be an opportunity sorely missed. Isn’t this what the story group is for?
Well, they did mention Dodonna’s cell already. I could see them crossing paths with a Rogue One character, but they do also keep pointing to the idea that these cells are very separate.

They did put a Clone Wars character in RO though, so maybe. On a side note, I’d love to see how people react if Maul is in an upcoming movie. I’d bet that 90% of people think Maul is still dead.

Saw Gerrera might make sense because they sort of created him but if what I’ve heard of his character in RO is correct I don’t know how well he’d fit.

I don’t think they could do Maul… they’d have to explain everything again for the movie and that’d take up a ton of time. I’d like it, but it’d be so much to do. Maybe his own Anthology or something?

Would not be surprised to see certain Rebel leaders later on!
I hope they let it finish itself out, unlike they did with The Clone Wars. The show was so close to being done (or at least coinciding with ROTS) when they pulled the plug, and it makes me really sad.

Ending TCW prematurely does seem unnecessary and misguided but I don’t think we have to worry about that here. That was part of the Disney take over and the OT over PT shift.
Yeah, it definitely made sense, and a lot of the story came out and has been used in other ways.
Just would have been nice to get another season or so to get it up to ROTS.

I’ve always figured they had a five year plan for it. I don’t see it going past season five.
Dave Filoni is working on the next show, so Rebels is probably not going to last more than 3 seasons (or maybe a few more set between ANH and TESB ?). With Rogue One coming the ANH “direct prequel” era has enough material, could be fun to explore other eras, such as after ROTJ.

This is almost certainly not the last season. I agree with Tobar, five sounds about right (and would get them right up to ANH if they’re doing one season = one year).
And Dave Filoni working on a new show is just speculation at this point, though it wouldn’t be surprising if true. Either way I’m hoping the next show is set immediately post-ROTJ.

Even better! Using the retro South Park art style and animation would the best option though. It’s definitely the most raw and energetic of all the styles.
