What and why? I just enjoy the concept of ending with Vader’s castle. It’s both commemorating the end of Anakin Skywalker’s story, and giving us a small amount of foreshadowing that he could still have influence on the future of Star Wars.

Sounds like a fun scene to edit as a stand alone project, but it doesn’t seem like it belongs in Rotj. Especially without a clear idea of who, when, or why.

It could be done as short stories to bridge some of the gap between VI and VII.

RE: The scene where Leia as Boushh gets caught by Jabba and she says “you’ll regret this, we have powerful friends”.

When the Gamorrean Guard pushes her forward closer to Jabba, his fingers on her shoulder look wobbly rubber and very fake. Perhaps a tweak could be applied to improve this small detail?

Not sure if this is the right forum but just wanted to acknowledge the absolute awesomeness of these revisited edits. I watched ANH:R and ESB:R over the weekend and am compelled to extol my sincere appreciation. They truly are what the Special Editions should have been and brilliantly enhance these wonderful films. Little things like seeing the Death Star’s laser begin to fire an instant before it explodes; the AT-ST being taken out by it’s larger, falling AT-AT companion. Even the early Death Star shots with the unnamed blue planet now seem inspired after the events of Rogue One.

Revisited is now my official canon goto. Just can’t say enough about this Adywan, you’ve exceeded any and all expectations. Congratulations, I can’t wait to see what you do with ROTJ.

I like it. My suggestion would be to use some form of Lapti Nek, but keep the dancer “underground” scene too.

I was replying to a posted comment with my thoughts and how I would go about it if I were to. I did not know that it was a crime to share opinions on a forum website based on sharing opinions. In the future, I won’t post my own personal thoughts for any edits I may or may not create on another edit’s thread.

No need to overreact bud, he simply said that this thread is not exactly the place for one to write a wall of text with their own personal plans and ideas for their own edits, and in your case, of other movies and not only the one the thread is for. What you wrote wasn’t exactly a suggestion to Adywan and it’s not contributing to the topic at hand. But it wasn’t that big of a deal, he just said this is not exactly the place to do that and I agree.

It’s indeed something we see in the video games. Since Ady is going to shoot new scenes, it would be quite awesome to have imperial guys on the ground stunned by the DS2 destruction.

I would even add that the Emperor bossing Vader is quite the point of being the Emperor: the bad guy from the two previous movies (well, 4 movies…) kneels before this old man in front of everyone ! You know you’re going to meet the final boss here.

I wanna say that seeing the Emperor just being around and bossing Vader and everyone talking about how scary and powerful he is basically raises tension for when we get to the throne room with Luke. But it’s an interesting idea to meet him when Luke does.

In short I agree with 005 and ray. But it’d be interesting to see a RotJ version where we only meet the Emperor when Luke does.

Cutting any of the emperor’s early scenes would be a mistake as he is the primary villain of the film (Vader is a protagonist in ROTJ, not an antagonist. I actually wrote an essay on this in college for a story development course). We need to see the villain being villainous BEFORE the climax of the film so we know him well enough and so we see how he actively is a force against our hero’s mission so we root against him. It’s not enough to have him randomly pop up at the end and act all menacing. As great as the throne room climactic scenes are, they can’t stand on their own from a story perspective.

Agree they are important.
The beginning would feel too much of a drag with just Jabba. It already does to me and many more. We have already seen the Stardestroyers,a Death Star, most characters comes to a hault in develpoment, and even reworked battle scenes can only add so much extra excitement. Pluss they are amazing standalone scenes, the emperor carry very much of the weaker saga movies.

I see your point. We’d be in a way Darth Mauling him.

OK, so first off while i agree a build up to the puppet master would be cool, as already stated, its to late. ESB has revealed The Emperor and so leaving the main villain till the last 20 minuets (don’t quote me on that) would be pointless,
Second the early scenes of The Emperor, specifically his arrival on the DS2, are very important in setting up the differences between Vader and The Emperor. When Vader arrives he is greeted by a force of about 30-40 troops however, when The Emperor arrives they are in a massive hanger with hundreds of troops. These really serve to show how vain and politically powerful The Emperor appears, as with any tyrant his power comes mostly from his followers (although his is shockingly good when it comes to the force) and it sets up his death to come so easily once he is betrayed by his most loyal subject.

Oh and sorry for the “Joke” i just couldn’t resist.
