This is still the best version of that line I’ve seen. Pretty much blends in perfectly.

Actually, the audio clarity seems to change when he says “mother.”

That sounds pretty bad and is very noticeable.
Yeah… that’s really rough. I guess some people just aren’t too perceptive to these kinda things. Which is why AI lines really ought to be undetectable for the average person.
Maybe someone in this thread, https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Original-trilogy-deleted-scenes-restored-Project/id/94215/page/7 , is willing to help clean up the Luke constructing his lightsaber deleted scene. There are some members there who have done some great looking restorations.
I’m pretty sure too much detail has been lost in the darks. You can’t restore what isn’t there.
Preferred Saga:
1,2: Numeraljoker extended
3: L8wrtr
4,6-9: Hal9000
5: Adywan
I bet in the not-so-distant future, there will be a way to use ai technology to “recover” that lost detail…
Attack of the Clones: Alternate Timeline Edit Thread:

Maybe there’s a future 8K Collector’s Set where they rescan and clean up all the deleted scenes. If Disney steps aside and lets another company like Criterion or Arrow take a crack at it.
The blackest eyes… the devils eyes.

Sorry if this has been addressed before but Ady mentioned he will make a better SSD Executor crash into the Death Star II. Will you fix the scaling of them? DS II is way too huge in this shot.
Using data I found online I made a quick mock-up of how the DSII curvature should look as the Executor crashes into it.
Hope you will consider this, if not, no problem!

Don’t quote me, but im pretty sure its not as simple as plotting it against a circle. I beleive distance and angle of the camera (both from the DS and SSD) needs to be taken into account and it need to be modeled againt a sphere. Hold my bear.
But you might have to wait a while its late and I need sleep. I will fact check myself tomorrow tho.
Okay so I did some “math” and some “best as i can lining up” and came up with this:
I used the relative and “real life” scale of the Gun Tower and SSD to calulate their distance from the camera and each other.
So as you can see as it is a sphere the curviture is less noticable as you get closer to the surface which you couldn’t demonstrate with a circle as it would always be tangental to the horizen. The other by-product is that due to how far away the SSD “is” from the camera it actually would have impacted beyond the horizen.
There are three solutions to this:

but nice work anyway. hope Adywan sees this.

The third and final video for this week, as promised.
This one, having the original 2020 grading played alongside the new grading may through out the perception of the new colour grade in places, especially with skintones. The 2020 shifts from having an almost fully desaturated image with a heavy blue filter (why the hell is endor suddenly blue?) for the space shots shifting to a more green shifted grade with yellow/ orange skin tones. Subtle colour tones on the Death Star equator mattes have been lost in this new grade, similar to what happened with the 2004 grade. So after watching it in comparison mode, watch it again while covering the top image and you’ll get a better idea of the grade.
And for anyone wondering why the TIE’s are blue in this , well they were blue in this scene and others in 1983 right up until the horrendous 2004 grade ( yes, they were blue in the '97 SE release too) where they became more desaturated and a heavy blue tint added to the picture, and the 2020 grade seems to have gone down that route too but this time eliminated all of the blue colouring, except for the matte shot where they part from the shuttle.
There are about 3 fixes in this video this time around. See if you can spot them all
great! they look beautiful.
the two changes I saw were:
Jabba’s palace door
camera movement retimed before the wipe to tatooine
and maybe you fixed out-of-focus Vader?Ah, there are 4 fixes then 😉
Also Star Destroyer hangar bay lights

Depends on the beer :p
Great analysis, cheers! It was a bit too simplistic how I presented it, I admit. I just always “felt” the SSD was way too small in that impact shot. Your math confirms it. For the SSD be that size in the shot and from that camera point, it would definitely crash beyond the ‘horizon’. Not an exiting angle so I’m curious what Ady will do.

Yeah, it was a good spot though, with the scaling issues. The destruction did always feel a bit, underwhelming and I think you hit the nail on the head why. The SSD was to small. Idk how up to date it is but Adywan did have “New super-stardestroyer destruction.” on his changes list. So time will tell.

I like how Ady keeps us on edge, most editors (including me) post previews of all their changes as soon as they’re complete. (putting off any real reason to rewatch it at the end) but Adywan likes to surprise us but still likes to take feedback if prompted.

Yes, someone finally got it 😃
I will say, that shot of the SSD going into the DS2… there is some weirdness, but that was still always one of my favorite shots. But… I guess thats what I have 4K83 for. Can’t wait to see what you do with the whole movie. I actually endorse you leaning heavily into CG and a modernized look. Now that we have the theatricals in 4K, I want to see the completely modernized versions of the films, CG and all. I want something that fits in with the modern series.
Now, I wish that all the new movies and shows would go crazy with practical effects and always shooting on grainy 35mm film etc etc… but thats not the world we’re in. We’re in the world where they’re all digital. So I’d like to have versions of the OT to reflect that. My plan for my kids has always been, watch the originals theatrical (or even just “Star Wars” and “Empire”), then start the whole series over in chronological order and watch the entire series, shows and all, that way.
Well, curated fan edits of the entire series 😃

I don’t think that’s the point of revisited. Adywan’s goal is to polish and update the already excellent film. To “revisit” it without breaking the films style. Not to modernize it. Lucas already tried that, and we all know what that yielded.

What I would like is the good cgi updated to modern standards, like bespin in empire and the ships in a new hope to name a few examples.
So, part of the reason for changing the last scene of ROTJ is to make TFA not feel like as much of a “reset,” am I right? It’s mentioned on the Sequel Reset TV Tropes page.
Is using the SE shuttle landing from ESB:SE an option for elements? Davnes007 did a test some years back and it kind of flowed better than jumping from Vader head on going down the ramp to walking alongside Jejerrod.
I know it would be lots of work, but I wish you could implement this process for the lightsaber scene so there was red and green light on Luke and Vader
“You can’t polish a turd. But you can shape it to look like candy.”

Adywan has already said that to do that the characters would need to be fully lit to add glow and light falloff, in both luke and Vader are in very deep shadow, so this would be impossible to do.
