So I might sound utterly stupid but… Is there a release of Adywan’s Rotj or am I just crazy… and if not, when?.

No there isn’t, and we don’t know yet. ANHR:HD will release first, and after that It may take several more years. Adywan takes his time on these projects.

I remember first checking out this project a little after I graduated high school which was 2010/2011 lol. Kept up with the facebook for awhile. sucks the prequel trilogy got abandoned, that could’ve been an insane venture. Seeing things get added and erased like it was nothing I felt like he could legit make brand new movies out of those 3.

around the survivors a perimeter create

It’s incredible to think that’s a fan film.

It’s not, it’s a film edit of the video game Fallen Order.

Yeah, in a way, I was looking forward to that more than ROTJ:R.

THAT… but hopefully these projects will inspire more.

Yeah, I mean I grew up on the OT being on VHS, and PT was coming out while I was younger so its grown closer to me as I’ve got older. After seeing everything Adywan and other Editors have done on this site, its definatly inspired my to take a swing at them some day. I don’t have the experiance or knowledge yet, but I’m building up those skills now, so one day, I can make a PT edit to fall in line with Revisted. At least that what I aspire to do.

Cant wait for this edit to come out. I hope there can be reasonable cuts to get the length just under 2 hours, that would be great.

I don’t know if it was discussed before or not, but there is a continuity error in the movie.
On the Endor moon, when Luke talks to Leia, he says:

“Vader is here…now, on this moon.”
And then we see that he is not. He arrives when Luke is delivered to an imperial base.
From the script:

"EXT .FOREST - IMPERIAL LANDING PLATFORM
An Imperial shuttle floats down from the Death Star and lands gracefully on the huge platform.
Now, an Imperial walker approaches the platform from the darkness of the forest. The whole outpost - platform, walkers, military - looks particularly offensive in the midst of this verdant beauty.

EXT. IMPERIAL LANDING PLATFORM - LOWER DECK
Darth Vader walks down the ramp of the shuttle onto the platform, …"

Can this be fixed in this edit?

No need. It was made self-evident during the approach to Endor on the shuttle that Luke sensed Vader and that likewise, Vader sensed his son. There is no continuity error in the scene as it is. “Vader is here now, on this moon” in the Star Wars universe is like saying ‘Vader is here now in this system’. Means the same thing - especially when trying to hurriedly convey to Leia why he must leave the group. “Here now, on this moon” is the urgency Luke needed to convey to her, so she would accept his decision to depart.

Besides, there is a musical flow to the editing in the sequence in which it transitions from the Ewok village to the shuttle landing. I’d hate to lose that.

I find your lack of faith…disturbing

That can be argued.

And that scene has nothing to do with Luke’s sentence that creates the continuity error.

Absolutely not.
It means exactly what is written. On the moon.
You can try to rationalize as much you want, on the moon means actually on the moon in every known universe. Even Star Wars universe. Because whatever they say in the movie, it is for the audience to understand.
Not in the athmosphere, not in orbit, not in the system. On the moon.
If he wanted to say something else, there are words for that.
For example Luke could have said he is coming for me.
He didn’t.

The very same thing is true if he says, “Vader is coming here for me. I must leave.”
He didn’t. He said he is already on the moon. But he wasn’t.

Maybe the landing sequence could be placed after Solo talks to Threepio, cut back to Ewok village, then cut to the part when Vader exits the elevator.

He could be on the moon and just at a different location. The shuttle landing is just that, a mode of transportation taking someone from one place to another. The point of origin of that trip is never articulated and really doesn’t need to be.

Yeah gotta agree with all three of ya. He says “on the moon”. He means ON THE MOON. But he ain’t on the moon.

Yeah the landing squeance pacing and such does work rly well rn, but we’ll have to see how it works with all Adywans changes anyway, the pacing will change,

And yeah I agree he could have been on the moon, just somewhere else, but idk how that could easily be convayed to the audiance without some kind of obtrusive dialog or more landing sequances, like will we see Vader just dordling around waiting… Okay that would be funny but yeah.

If something needs to change it would probably be the line, as that scene’s dialog is already planned for a small rework an its probably the simplest solusion.

This is all probably because the version of the script from mid-March 1982, before the final round of rewrites on the Endor sequence, reads a bit different here.
Script
Note that, in addition to the Imperial facility being much bigger and more active than it ends up in the final film, there’s no description of Vader exiting his shuttle. Instead, the viewer is supposed to discern that Vader obediently arrived on the moon immediately after his conversation with the Emperor earlier, and has been waiting around for Luke to turn himself in.

Frankly, I think it makes more sense that way, and avoids the same “We must always see Vader travel between locations” thinking that lead to the addition of some things to the end of ESB in the SE. And the musical cue could work with just a better establishing shot of the Imperial facility.

Considering “Shadow of the Sith” is basically just “plug in the plot holes for The Rise of Skywalker” I feel like hardly anyone was excited for it anyway.

I know these projects are huge undertakings and take years. I am also aware Covid hindered this edit moving forward for awhile. However, I was just seeing if there has been any recent headway recently. Does Adywan still plan to extend the ground battle on Endor and shoot some additional scenes on location in California? I believe that idea was kicked around back in the day and I feel it would be epic if it could be pulled off.

I always wish we had of gotten the wookies intead of the ewoks for the final battle, but more rebel support would help sell the ending better I believe. Sorry if this has been touched on recently, this is just one of my most eagerly anticipated projects currently!

I always agreed with this idea, however… After playing Ewok Hunt in Battlefront 2 (the bad one) my mind has forever been changed.
OMG are Ewoks in that game the most terrifying thing I have ever had the missfortune to be persued by. Genuine Horror. If adywan can in any way convay that side of Ewoks their victory will never be questioned again.

Never going to happen. ROTJ:R will be a “Hayden Free” edition.

That’s ok. if you don’t mind me asking will we get an update soon on either a new hope hd or return of the Jedi hd revisited?

Is there possibility of a way to include AT-AT’s into the Endor battle - or else remove that AT-AT in the one shot?!

So I know at one point you said that adding lighting to the actors was too much work that didn’t pan out to looking all that great. However, I came across this video today and thought it may spark the willing spirit to try again:
