I don’t know if this is exactly what Adywan is thinking, but I still really love this idea. To me, it is a very moving ending and I hope he adopts something like this.

Credit for the effects go to the long lost aalenfae.

Is there any behind the scenes footage of Sebastian Shaw in costume that could be used in the pyre shot? If you put a force ghost shot of him with the ventilator still on but the mask off over the pyre, then have it fade out right before panning up, you could use force ghosts in both shots, and still stick to only Shaw. The film ends with even more of a false sense of security and completion - Luke and Anakin both lay Vader to rest, then we watch both rejoin their comrades.

Preferred Saga:
PT: Hal9000
4/5: Adywan
6: NSP
7/8: Hal9000

I agree about using Shaw instead of Christiansen in an otherwise identical shot. The individual who created that shot differed, but the concept is interesting. I’m not sure I understand your suggestion though.

Anakin

Lego Star Wars beat us to the punch! Still, I’ve always liked the idea.

Should Luke’s lightsaber be blue to match what’s shown in the ST?

His lightsaber was changed from blue to green because the blue color matched the color of the sky on Tatooine and it would’ve been hard to see it during the optical editing.

The saber Rey uses was originally Anakin’s.

It is, but only during the flashback scenes in TLJ showing what happened between him and Kylo.

And the flashback with Leia in TROS aka the only times you see that saber.

Exactly - the only time he’s using the saber that’s supposed to be green, it is green, therefore there’s no problem.

I assume you didn’t pay attention to the hilt. This is the original scene:

It’s clearly Anakin’s saber.

My preferred saga experience:
TPM/AOTC/ROTS (Hal 9000 edits), ANH/ESB/ROTJ (Despecialized), The Mandalorian.
May the midichlorians be with you.

The point is… that… if we assume this fan edited scene was in our head canon Last Jedi Revisited that we should… make his lightsaber blue in Return?

It would seem like the new transfers are “zoomed in” form 2:35:1 to 2:39:1, resulting in some lost scenery on all the edges of the picture (according to Force.net: https://boards.theforce.net/threads/the-eventual-release-of-the-prequel-trilogy-on-4k-blu-ray.50048066/page-6).

I can’t confirm since I have no Disney+ but if it’s true, could the 4K83 maybe be a better main source to work with after all?

Damned it seems there’s always something f:ing up the official releases.

Yeah, the 4K transfers were done at 2.39:1. I’m not sure the small amount of “lost” information is worth the amount of cleanup Ady would have to do to 4K83.

It would help if they had used the same frame for both and not one a few frames later in a shot that the camera is zooming in. fitting to the 2:39:1 ratio does not mean having to zoom in, cutting off the edges. Its a few pixels less top and bottom and, for the most part, the new transfers are less cropped than the 2011 blu-rays

Ah, I should have known better than trust stills from a moving shot! The screen capture from the Death Star hangar looks very promising, I’m glad I was proven wrong.
