Its a gadget laser eye opticians use to correct sight i think. Chewie really needed it after the that "this goes there, that goes there" incident. ;-)

No idea how it interfears with the hyperdrive though.

Nice blue reflection on wookie face hair there Angel. Subtle and sweet.

One more subtle shit that can add some "reaslism" is a subtle lensflare. Yes yes i know before all you start. Star wars dont have lens flares.

Second pic is original lens flare. Not added by me or JJ or Michael.

Edit:

Ady did you fix all the visible interiors of R2's dome?

Thats just one example :)

I'd say that counts as a lens flare- not a big one, but it exists nonetheless. In addition, Ady added the flares in ANH:R as the pod goes toward the planet near the beginning.

You harly see the reflection but its there.(ady will say: all these will be downgraded when the PT:R comes)

Besides the perspective in ESB is a bit weird so the reflection is not all the time in the glass. Vader is overlap most of the glass area too.(Ady will say: No need to add any reflection, the focus in on the characters and too much work.) :P

-Angel

There ARE lots of digital lights and reflections on the prequels that feel distracting. Like the lightsaber light on yoda's face and clothes (when the lightsaber doesnt light anybody else) or the light of the blasters every time clone troopers shoot. All those things made them look more CG than real.

Thats why im against lightning any real character or surface with the lightsaber (unless it MEANS something or the light is there for a dramatic reason)

If you notice the reflection in that shot. it's amazing that he lightsaber can reflect through Anakin's body so you can see the whole saber blade on the window when you should only see half that length.

Yeah i noticed that. And if you notice the floor reflections they dont mask on the actors but just like low opacity layers.

they stands out tho. and work in motion, not frame by frame

i never noticed that. i was too absorbed in the duel. one of the best ever i might add. ;)

Holy f**k! That Carbon Freezing Chamber model is awesome! :D

Not as 'awesome' as that 'Sith Reunion' one though, lol!

The only thing that i did like about the reflections of the lightsabers was to make the window actually look more window like than just a frame, i know the glass smashes later on in the scene lol, maybe someone might add a slight shine or reflection of the interior where they are fighting to make the window look more realistic?

Surely the interior 'reflections' seen on the window already do that?

Sheesh... Gotta say, this debate is a bit silly. But, it's cool.

Yup, but there's been many debates on even more trivial stuff too, that's ended up being added.  The subtle stuff counts.

I don't have the disc at hand to check just now, but is the 'outermost ring' of the glass in the widowframe at an 'angle', compared to the rest of the windowframe?  And if it is, would this have any bearing on any 'reflection' of the sabers?  Just wondering.

Also still wondering if there would be any saber 'reflection' seen in that shot where Luke has his back nearest to the window, or not?

Haha, lol - Looks like Ventress has forgiven Vader for twisting her arm on the moon of Yavin during the Clone Wars. :D

Maybe we should give Kersh and the ESB crew some credit.  It seems that he staged the lightsaber fight where it was so he wouldn't have to worry about those reflections.

Haha, that is a distinct possibility.

Credit them too because they used angles to the SD bridges so no visible hull could be possible :(

lame!

So lame...

Kersh knew that would be expensive and avoided it while maintaining the illusion of a plausible fantastic universe (most of the time).

If you look at what Richard Marquand and Lucas did on ROTJ (where often there are shots where things like exterior surfaces should be visible but aren't) it's clear who the better director is.

Shame Kersh didn't get to do much after Empire.

Yeah, clearly Star Wars was at it's finest when the KKK was involved.

(no, not that KKK... I mean Kershner, Kurtz, and Kasdan.)

This is a bit off topic, but wasn't there some talk back in March (2009) about making a variation of this image displaying General Veers waiting to enter Vader's meditation chamber:

:

...into a menu on the dvd? If I recall correctly, Angel had a mock-up of what it could look like, but I can't find it for the life of me. Anybody remember what I'm talking about?

Yeah, I think there were a few mockups of that, they were great! I still highly recommend this.

Hello everyone,

Been reading but not posting for a long time. I thought I would put my 2 cents in on the reflection debate.

I prefer that Ady put it in but based on the fact that the Revisited Edit is supposed to be technically superior to the Lucasfilm "official" versions.

The other reason I think it should be put in is that Luke Skywalker is reflected in the glass which makes it interactive with the set and the environment. Thus the lightsabers should be reflected as well.

Keep up the good work Ady!

Matticon.
