Adywan, so you found ROTJ disappointing? How so? I thought it was just as good as the previous two, though I would rank it as the least in the trilogy.

Maybe he's on my side when it comes to all the belching, the Tarzan yell, and some of the cutesiness throughout the movie. Plus, some of it really feels like a rehashing of the first one. Other than that, I like it [and always will], but it's my least favorite of the OT by a country mile.

Okay, not Adywan, but i wanna stab at this.

Hang on. First cut to -whats with the infulx of new dudes:-) Still, its possibly a good thing(sometimes)? Hello new members apleny. Ive give up on that one.

Thing is about Jedi is theres nothing "really" wrong with it. Its Original Trilogy, and it brought an even more expansive Star Wars universe with it (people dont bring up ewoks). It just didnt quite get under your skin as maybe the first two did after seeing it.

There were things that worked, somethings that didnt, but ultimatly it was the death of Star Wars for us at that time (read as: the last star wars film ever made). Whatever it delivered, left a bitter aftertaste (therfor, no3 in the triology just fits with it).

Little did we know about the cartoons, and nemodians, and the back story of the senete could be in the works, which would of really driven fans to suicide a long time ago if we'd just known then. OTforums may not have ever of existed aswell. AArrrgghh!

You do realise how contradictory those two statements are?

I agree with Ady (and so what if he is a Star Wars nerd, that's why we are here, we are all Star Wars nerds).

Empire built on the initial premise of Star Wars, Jedi merely recycled the two episodes that preceded it.

It has some fine moments but compared to the first two episodes Jedi is the poor cousin.

The prequels are even more of a mess (they got better over time but even ROTS has moments that make one's teeth curl).

We are trying to help Ady because of the fine work he did first time but it's his baby, he (as I do) feels Boba's original voice worked better in Empire.

He's doing the hard work, he calls the shots.

Yeah does as well Bingo. People read things to though here (damn!)

Yet, but somehow Ripplin, i think the same old faces will be posting great ideas in the Jedi:revisited thread. As deep down it is still the OT. If it comes to the prequels revisited then thats gonna be a big eye opener for most of us here methinks :-/

Oh, I agree, DS. I have full confidence Ady will keep in all the things I love about Jedi, but...you know, tighten it up a bit. I would certainly love to see the belching and Tarzan yell get the chop, though. ;)

Anyway, back to the recently discussed [again] issue of Needa's shuttle, has anyone ever found some pictures of the model, or even a screenshot or two? I'd love to see it up close if possible! :)

I have some model shots (and the Kenner, herm, one), but just flicking through my pics, it seems the wings are all in the landed position (i think). Look proper 2 morrow after work to see if my archives hold any strength around here to contwibute sumfin.

Those German fellas had some excellent work already done on their, dare i mention "TYDERIUM" project. From a wide out shot of the shuttle, zooming into the cockpit shot. It was stunning. And they did X-wings and Y-wings for their trailer. Jambe was always cheeky enough to ask.

I don't know how much this relates to the actual model but here's the wookiepedia article :

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/sh_shuttle

So basically it's a TIE Bomber with the bomb pod removed.

Thanks, Bingo. I must say that an upgrade could be nice, especially a Lambda class shuttle. It would feel less like they just re-used the neat-o new-for-ESB TIE Bomber for another scene. ;) It certainly doesn't look very regal, if you will. Like picking up a dignitary in a Ford Taurus.

Neat pic, DS, but Bingo got it right. It was the original ESB shuttle I was talking about, which was a modified TIE Bomber model, apparently.

Here's the trailer for that, looked like they had a lot of fun making it:

whew!  Just wanted to say thanks to Adywan.  I've spent the past few weeks downloading SW:R and reading all 250+ pages of the ep IV thread and all 121 pages of this thread to get up to speed.  I'm very excited to get in on these discussions while the project is still in development.

Are you guys talking about the "imperial cargo" shuttle that the rebel allaince hijaks and Han, Liea and, Luke use to get to Endore in ROTJ? I was confused that they reused the shuttle Darth Vader arrives in at the beginning of the film, I thought that shuttle was like a personal shuttle used only for superiors, but then we are told it is just a cargo shuttle. I was like huh? Darth Vader flew in just a cargo shuttle. That's not like him.

Never heard of the concept of "multi-function", huh?  Never seen a standard Cadillac converted into a limousine before?

Everything the Empire designs is modular in some way.  This is most evident in the various TIE fighters - same basic cockpit ball, just slap on different wings/solar panels for different jobs.

Why can't the shuttle be the same?  The exterior is a standard design, the difference is in the way the interior is fitted - wide open for cargo, row seats for troops, a few luxury seats for the Emperor and his flunkies.  If YTs can be customized and modified, why not Lambdas?

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Interesting trailers for that Tydirium project. If it's done at full resolution and high enough quality (which it looks like), it might even be possible to use some footage when we come to ROTJ:R.

I'm gonna have to get savvy with this adobe photoshop and start doing some editing of my own. I don't think I will ever be as good as Adywan, but, just to play around with it and make some funny videos for youtube would be fun.

just on the subject of shuttles, i think it doesnt matter that the cargo shuttle is the same as vader's shuttle, i mean theres probably just fancier furniture inside, though for the emperor i wouldnt mind seeing someting slightly more special, like a red shuttle. (though thats for a forum in the far future)

on the subject of the emperor, i grabbed this from the force unleashed trailer:

http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/6797/emperorvl1.th.png

i really like the eyes on him, its almost ghostly and demon like. would you consider doing a similar thing to the emperor across the revisited saga? a slight emperor reinvention? i thought id mention it now as he is in the hologram.

Hey guys, I don't believe this shot has been mentioned (I checked the suggestion terminal)...

The camera pulls back and is suppose to be stationary, but it jerks around quite a bit.

yeh its motion isn't too smooth. I'm going to try and do something about this

As for the Emperors eyes, i won't be doing anything like that to them.
