It's a cool idea, but I don't think it's quite good enough. Independent of whether or not it looks like real breaths, there aren't nearly enough of them. Any time they exhale (even through their nose I guess?) there should be this.
i know most people won't like this idea but i'll try my luck.. :)
ady can you add Camie Loneozner to episode V? because there are not many female chracters in this movie, (and she is cut from the movie, wich is not fair to the actor) as we all know, Biggs will appear in this episode and Camie is his wife.. (i'm not sure if anyone knows this) all i ask, you add her in a frame or two.. like in the rebel base or somewere like that..

Yeah Koo Stark was HOT!, check her out on google, she did some nude stuff, she dated Prince Andrew.........did film Star Wars scenes (Tosche Station).....but was not involved in Empire Strikes Back so don't think can be in this edit. :(

Conceptually and technically it looks fine, but something about it feels wrong as far as the timing and frequency of when they occur. They should only happen on "big" breaths, when a character emphasizes a certain word or does some kind of frustrated "huff". Regular speech doesn't generate enough breath to produce much vapor on every word.

About the ice breath:
It's a really nice touch, and it adds much realism to the self-conscience. However, I'm afraid it might be too difficult. Try doing as much of the rest of the edit as you possibly can, then try "revisiting" this idea.
Wow, I love the new asteroid chase clip, Ady. The asteroid field looks so much more dense, now. Really incredible work there. I like the added asteroid the TIE smashes into also. Great little addition that makes sense.
Regarding the breath, I think I feel like some others in here - I do like the concept, and it probably looks just like real breath looks in the cold. But because we know it's been added, we are focusing so much on it that it doesn't look quite right. At least for me anyways. It's not that it doesn't look right, I think I just know it's been added so somehow it's a distraction. Maybe if I were to see it being incorporated right from the beginning maybe it wouldn't stand out so much and just blend in being that I would get accustomed to it easier than just seeing a quick clip of it. It does look like lots of work though. I guess in the end it's up to you if you think it's worth the extra effort or not.
I always liked the gray Tie Fighters in ANH, but the blue TIES in Empire never really bothered me until they were over-saturated in the SE. While I would have enjoyed seeing the TIES gray in ESB:R I'm glad to hear you are keeping the color subtle. I can definitely see your reasoning there with the lack of color in many shots.
I deifnitely like the breath too (and I think the balance is better than some may think, as not all of it shows, and he got the bigger exhalations right), but man, so much work.
I think the added breaths look very good and are well-executed, but I'm not sure it would really be that cold inside Echo base. I know 3PO says it's supposed to be freezing in the Princess' chamber, but a lot of characters are walking around with no head-warming protection, and their skin colours betray the actual ambient temperature of the set (if it were so cold as to see their breath, then I'd expect their noses and ears to be red as well).
Ultimately I'm on the fence -- I'd be fine with or without their addition to the film.

I personally would NOT add the breath... I never noticed it missing before, and adding it now would focus attention on the breath, not the actors.
Changing things like the bulk of the asteroid field or matte boxes/lines around models is one thing, as those weaknesses of older FX draw attention to fact you're watching models. This is one of those changes that doesn't really improve the scene(s) in question, as the focus is the drama.

I must say that whilst, as is always the case with Ady's changes, I think the addition of the cold breath has been brilliantly realised, in this instance I personally would not add it. As some other people have already pointed out, whilst watching the new scene, I found myself very distracted by the new breaths, and not concentrating on the dialogue being spoken.
However, at the end of the day it is Ady's edit, and if he likes the new breaths and is happy to put in the doubtless considerable effort to add it throughout the Hoth scene, then more power to his elbow, and I look forward to watching the finished result. If he chooses not to add it, it won't be an area of the edit that I would view as a missed opportunity.
The thing is that you're watching a video which demonstrates the cold breaths, so of course you will focus on them rather than the dialogue but I bet, if it wasn't pointed out, most people wouldn't even consciously notice but subconsciously it adds the feeling of how cold it really is in there.
