My sincere condolences Ady.

As others so truthfully pointed out, I too have come to regard you as a friend, even though we have never met. I am deeply saddened by your loss.

Our thoughts are with you and your family.

Warm wishes from Denmark

Thank you everybody for you kind words. It's a really tough time for us all at the moment. I really don't like having to sort through all Dads personal things and deciding what needs to be kept and what has to go. Just so much left to do before the funeral next Thursday. I have no idea when i will get back to the edit as i just don't feel like doing anything at the moment.

Don't, spend time with your Family and take a much needed break from things, we will all be here when you are ready, take ALL the time you need.

It might be a fitting memorial and a healing experience to use your editing skills to make some sort of document of your parent's lives from photos, the music you associate with them, that sort of thing.

I have a couple of objects that were my dad's, a ring and his beloved Quad amplifier and tuner which I managed to get working again.

Little touchstones like that always bring back good memories.

Dude, for your sake take all the time you need in order to grieve, mourn, remember, reflect, laugh, cry and love. This is your journey, man. And above all, don't let anyone dare tell you when you should be done. Not friends, not family, and especially not anyone from the membership of these boards. I'm praying for you, Ady.

Edit-wise, I have several beauty shots of the CG models used in ESBR thanks to Andreas. Some are even better detailed than what appears in the film (used in long shots). Once I have a nice background worthy to matte them on, the computer/phone wallpapers will start a regular release schedule. I'll probably start with the little used models and work my way up to the big nice ones.

So June's wallpaper: Cloud Car.

EDIT: Anyone willing to donate some neat tech backgrounds? Something kind of blueprint/schematic looking? PM me if you've got any ideas.

Get thru the funeral day, then sort thru Dad's stuff as the mood and need hits you.  My grandmother - my last surviving grandparent - died back in October and it took my dad and two uncles some time to sort thru her stuff, not because of volume but just because of memories and separating them from the practical need for different items to stay or go.  Sorting thru their stuff is part of the "closure" phase of the grieving process - don't rush it.  Take whatever time you need.

The edit (and the rest of us) will still be there when you're ready to resume.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Ady, so sorry to hear about the sad news. I never know what to say at times like this. I know how difficult it is to have to go through a loved one's belongings after their death. Easier said than done but try to stay strong for your family.

Ziz is right, don't rush going through his things right away if it can be avoided unless you think it will help you.

Stay strong, Ady.  We're all here for you!  A whole other family, in a sense, only a click of a mouse away.  We support, we care, we listen, we speak, and most of all, we respect.

It's been a long time since I've posted here, but I wanted to log in to tell Adywan that I am sorry for his loss. It's hard losing a relative, and a parent is an unimaginable loss. My condolences, Adywan.

My sincerest condolancies Ady. I lost my Mom just over a year ago, and know how bumpy the ride is, sorting through precious possesions etc. Heartbreaking stuff! My thoughts are with you and your family right now!

As for the edit, Yoda teaches patience, a rule that must be obeyed by all! All in good time.

I know you and I have never really conversed, but I am very sad over hearing that your father passed away.

Optimistically, he is now at peace, no longer feeling any pain or suffering.

While it's perfectly fine to deal with a loved one's loss, just try your best to focus on his life, rather than those last few months or so when he was ill.

My thoughts also go out to your daughter, I know this is a very hard time for her and you as well.

My condolences,

Zig

Didn't really want to offer my sympathies until the news came from Ady himself on this forum, as I don't think it's people's place to broadcast a personal loss somewhere other than where he initially posted it (for his FB friends to see) but stay strong, mate and I hope things go as smoothly as a send-off of a loved one can go.
