Is the video work done by ILM have the same rights as Lucasfilm? Is ILM and Lucasfilm the same corporation?

There are some pretty remarkable fan-films with not a single element filmed by Lucasfilm who still could not make a penny from their work.

Ady is doing a lot but he is still making adjustments to a preexisting film not yet in the public domain.

I've finally had a chance to see all the snippets online of ESB:R - and I'm blown away with the eye Adywan has for making the OT a truly 'Special Edition' that goes beyond what our own expectations are.

Curiosity is killing me, and perhaps it is buried somewhere in the 800-something pages of this thread - but I'd love to know what Ady is envisioning in the tweakage of the Wampa scenes he is going to actually film.

I'm trying to envision in my own eyes a better composition of both the original "moving carpet" in the Wampa cave and the completely unclimactic Wampa in the S.E.

Are you seeking to replace the Wampa in it's entirety (from the Tippet puppet in the opening scene) in every instance it appears in both versions of the film?  Will you treat us to a more lethal Wampa arm taking down Luke's Tauntaun?  And I assume we are not going to have a one-armed snow beast growling like the man in the suit.

I guess I'm trying to draw Adywan storyboards in my mind for those scenes because as excited as you have made me for what I have already seen of uploaded clips, I'm nearly beside myself in wondering what incredible things you plan to do for the Wampa.

If it's already been discussed in here and I mised it, I apologize.  Re-reading 800 pages is a bit more daunting that having to read War and Peace.

I find your lack of faith…disturbing

Wow, it's gone a little mad in here recently. Can't we all just get along guys? Let's stop all the bickering. Not exactly what i really want to read when i come in here with everything going on.

Ghostbusters, i will never make money off these edits and i would never want to. It's not why i do them. Not only is it illegal it's just morally wrong to earn money from someone else's hard work. I only receive donations towards materials because there is no possible way i would ever be able to do these edits without it.

INVAR, almost all of the shots of the Wampa are to be replaced. Not much i can do about the arm when it strangles the Taun Taun or hits luke, but the rest i can do something about.

I need to read through all the other stuff when i get a bit more time free.

I deleted my whole mentioning of money and laws on working with copyrighted video. Adywan sent me a private message warning me about the seriousness of the issue.

Last week I lent ANH:R to a couple pals, film dudes, but not HUGE Star Wars fans. They have a giant flatscreen and surround sound.

They just called me and the first words were "Tell me this dude also remixed Empire Strikes Back!!!!"  Then there were a string of expletives expressing their approval of the video quality and the changes they noticed.

Just sent the link to the ESB:R trailer. Waiting for a response.

Side thought for everyone to consider - Ady said there won't be a "Purist" edition of ESB:R, but in a roundabout way, there already is - his Theatrical Reconstruction version.  Call that ESB:R:Purist.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

How is Buffy invading every aspect of my life so quickly?!  I only started watching it ten days ago!

Aspects matters not. Look at our lives. Judge them by aspects, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is Buffy, and a powerful ally it is. Entertainment creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel Buffy around you; here, between you, me, the television, the coffee table, everywhere, yes. Even between today and ten days ago.

I don’t know whether this information is available to the public or whether it’s any of my business, but I’m curious: how does Adywan do this and support a family at the same time?  Unless I misunderstood, the end credits of ANH:R state that he has a wife and children who live with him.

Does he hold a full time job and do Revisited in his spare time?  Is he independently wealthy?  Does his wife do all the work of financially supporting the family and taking care of their children while he works on Revisited?

Time is running out for the Rebels. Antilles upcourt to Skywalker. He’s being paced by Darth Va— the bone-jarring pick by Solo! He came out of nowhere! Skywalker’s open from way outside, he launches at the buzzer... Good! It’s good! The Rebels win on a sensational buzzer beater by Luke Skywalker! Let’s take another look at that last shot. He just does get it off in time. Wow, what a shot. That’s why they call him Luke Legend.

That may be the most exciting battle I have ever been privileged to broadcast. Certainly the most dramatic finish. We’ll get you an update on the Artoo Detoo injury situation in just a moment. Right now let’s go courtside where SuperShadow is waiting with Chewbacca.

I know he has a wife and kids, but I don't really know anything about his financial life, etc. I think all of us fan-editors do our work on our edits during our spare time (at least, that's how it is with me). Consider this: a full-time editor is supposed to finish editing a film in 1-3 months for a feature film, and then there's also 2-6 months for effects. By that account, ANH:R should have been done in 3-9 months, and CWN (Star Wars Renascent - The Clone Wars Narration) should have been done in 3 months (5 maximum due me needing to "un-edit" many scenes), but both ANH:R and CWN have taken (I think) 3 years! Going by all that, I would think that ady, like myself, and like many other editors, does his edits on the side of his work, social life and family life.

Now I am by no means a representative of all fan-editors, I'm just trying to give my understanding of the matter - and of course I could be completely wrong.

I had a question for ady:

So during my progress for CWN, I realised a lot of the preview shots were laggy. I have a 2.6 dual core processor and 5GB of RAM - my graphic card is an Intel G33/G31 Express Chipset. I feel that the RAM and CPU are sufficient, but that I need a new graphic card. What is your opinion on the matter?
