As an airline pilot, I've always been bothered by the motion of the Falcon during this part....  and I humbly submit that the landing sequence itself would look much better (to a professional eye, at least!) with a little additional tweaking of the touchdown.

Wow! Good to have Supervisors and pros contributing here!

Well, 20 years in the airlines makes me a seasoned pro at flying airplanes, but I still feel 12 years old when it comes to watching ESB!

Ady, can I ask why you needed a £250 odd GFX card ?

Wouldn't a GTX 460 or ATI 5770 for £120, have been more cost effective and sufficient?

Why does Adywan need to justify anything he does? What makes you think that Adywan would care at all about your opinion on how he spends HIS MONEY on HIS EDIT? YOU TWIT.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

And why are you so fucking offended at an innocent question?  Maybe rockin is asking because he's trying to learn about some technical difference between the cards that may have influenced Ady's decision and wants an opinion from someone who actually has one instead of technical review sites that blather out endless specifications without explaining what they mean in the real world.

It's amazing how much effort you put into not only attacking everyone who crosses your path but also intentionally get into other people's paths to make it appear that they crossed you, thereby giving you a reason to be even more of an asshole.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

This makes me sad, he used to always be the one who'd go after guys like him. Maybe that was only in this thread, though, which would mean he's never changed. Memory's a funny thing.

I've been lurking on here for the last few hundred pages (I thought the ANH:R thread was long!) and have a suggestion for Ady's materials need that would help get past any financial concerns with donations and such like.

As Ady knows pretty much what he needs to complete ESB:R, why not post up a shopping list that members can select an item to get for him? This would take the pressure off him to a certain extent.

As has been said, people are on budgets, but if groups of us clubbed together for a particular item, that may be one way of doing it that would be more affordable.

I've enjoyed ANH:R revisited greatly and have gladly shared it with my family and colleagues, but now feel I should take a more constructive part in getting this one completed and anything that avoids straight handing over of cash will help keep the lawyers away. :)

I realise this may sound good on paper and putting it into practice could prove difficult, but I thought I should at least put the idea out there.

Back to lurking for the time being then.

In my imagination, every single time I strap in, of course!  Han (and the Falcon) was a huge motivator when I was a kid.  An Airbus isn't exactly the same thing, but there sure are a lot of buttons and switches!  ...and I'm pretty sure that momentum is still momentum, even in a galaxy far far away.....

Actually, I just thought it might allow him to have some more money left over with the lower models, and I was trying to figure out the reasons why he would need a higher spec gfx card. Since I am into video editing myself, I was merely curious to know if there was any real advantage going with the significantly more expensive model in terms of editing video.

When you push forward on the throttles during takeoff, do you imagine the hyperspace starfield?

Yes.

And, true fact, (I will deny this in court) on multiple occasions I have been heard to growl, "Go strap yourselves in, I'm about to make the jump to lightspeed!"  I have also said "Punch it, Chewie!"  But you gotta know your audience....

When I logged in and caught up on things recently, I was amazed at how rude one of our members was toward another member who was only expressing his griefs and heartfelt concern toward Adywan. I don't need to mention names because we all know who I am talking about here. It seemed to settle down before I had come on, so I choose to not get involved. And yet I find myself logging in again tonight, and feeling disgusted yet again over the same member being abusive towards a different member, who just asked a simple question. This time I cannot bite my tongue.

I am usually very quiet in here because I usually don't feel like I have too much to contribute, other than praise and support, but I do enjoy coming in and seeing the new developments, and like everybody else in here, I am very anxious to see the final results. I get disgusted whenever I see a forum member treat another member like dirt, no matter what kind of forum I'm in. There's just no need for it. In another forum I frequent, the creator and moderator just the other day put a word of caution up that if people cannot be civil to one another, then people will get booted out. It only takes a few people to ruin a forum. I am starting to think the same thing is in desperate need of happening in here. It's a shame too. Most of us are here to offer ideas and support to Adywan. This one in particular I am talking about never has anything nice to say other than to Adywan. To everybody else, he is rude, cold, and insulting. It seems the only time he has anything to say is when he quotes somebody and fires an insult at them. Just because he has always been that way does not mean it should be accepted.

He claims that he supports Adywan, yet when Ady came on with bad news, everybody else was voicing their sadness, when this person decided to throw insults and profanity at another member, starting up a multi-page war. Is that what he means by supporting Adywan? Because I'm certain Adywan does not want to come in here and have to read all this garbage.

I am very sorry to continue this, but I just had to say something. I have been coming here since this thread started, and I cannot count the number of times I have seen this member treat other members badly. It really needs to stop, before nobody wants to come in here anymore. This is generally a very well-behaved forum, other than some tendency to stray off course when it gets slow, but I don't mind that so much. I have seen some people in here making some very generous contributions, and that shows the level of dedication and camaraderie that exists in here . I don't know what this person's problem is - I'm not exactly a people person myself, and I have gone through some very tough times in life, but that doesn't give me the right to verbally abuse people in forums where we are supposed to be friends. If this person can't act civil, then maybe he needs a "time-out".

Vbangle has treated me like crap too in the past. I might have been too beggy or overzealous at times, but he gets too insulting.

I'll bet air traffic controllers think it's weird when you scream "Pull up, all craft, PULL UP!" whenever you have to abort landings and go around.

Do the hot flight attendents take turns coming up and sarcastically ask "Would it help if I got out and pushed?" when you are stuck in line waiting for take-off?

By the way, that one guy who was being insulted by the other guy, sends his regards and gratitude for your sympathy.

Sadly, the male/female ratio of SW geeks is the same in the airline as it is in the real world - about 10,000 to 1.  :(    About as close as it gets is when one of them calls me "Captain."  And anyway, precious precious few of them are as pretty as Carrie!

Hey Now!

I don't care if Carrie was doing the white lines at Elstree Studios, that was 5 feet-1 inches of smoldering hotness in that Hoth snowsuit! She was never better than she was in Empire, and her performance was one thing I don't think Ady can improve much upon, but he's welcome to try!!!
