Now here's a quick little fix i've just finished (please don't cross post this to anyone elses youtube account)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEUEISUj9M4

Not sure how I feel about this one... I know Wedge is supposed to be Rogue 3 and all, but maybe it's the change in pitch in Luke's voice that makes it sound a little odd.  Is there any way to alter the pitch to Mark Hamill's voice to sound similar to his original line (with the slightly higher and more urgent pitch)?

re: BESPIN FLIPPED SHOTS (particularly Luke falling from great height):
pesonally, I never would have noticed them if you never pointed them out.  Other than doing some CGI on Luke's hand(s), I say just keep it, especially the shot looking up the shaft towards the carbonite pod - being that if you flipped that shot, the pod would be on the right side of the shaft, which would conflict with the previous placing of the pod on the left side of the shaft.

Too many movies get dubbed, countries like France and Germany dub every foreign language movie automatically.

Here in Belgium we only dub some children's cartoons and movies, I watched Star Wars when I couldn't yet read and understand everything they said in the movie but I still liked it.

Every time I switch channels and accidentally hear the Simpsons or Star Wars in French I crinch.

If you don't want to watch the film as it was intended, don't watch it at all. You might as well watch it with your eyes closed or with the sound muted.

I hear you! Until recently, this was the common practice here (Bulgaria) - dub children cartoon and family/comedy/soap-opera TV series - everything else, esp. movies was strictly subtitled. Given the awful quality of every TV channel over here (something like 480p, 4:3, 2 channel stereo) it was at least bearable to listen to the original audio track... since a few months, there seems to be a national regulated policy to dub everything, besides the late-evening movies (not porn, the more violent ones)... agh, it's unbearable! :(

Ady, have you tried tweaking the pitch of Luke's voice in that scene, where he mixes up te Rogues' numbers? It has bothered me before, and while I appreciate the fix, his voice sounds... off?

One last question (isn't in the first post, I checked) - do you plan to release a Matroska .mkv encoded version besides the Blu-Ray one - or maybe let someone else encode it? I don't have a player, neither a PS3 for the BluRay.

I suspect that the main reason Luke's voice sounds off is because it's at a very different pitch to that which we're used to, but I'd need to see it in more context — with more lines on either side, that is — in order to tell. In the meantime, I'm inclined to trust Adywan's instincts.

No, i said there would be no purist version of ESB:R. I stated that there would be a AVCHD 720p DL-DVD, a NTSC & PAL DVD-9 & 5 and there will be a bonus disc on DVD-5 with all the extras. The DVD-9's will have the extra audio tracks if i can get hold of them and the AVCHD will have the option (& the tools to do it)  to swap the default English 5.1 audio track with one of the optional foreign language tracks that will be available separately. But the AVCHD will only have the 5.1 English track and maybe an isolated score

I shall put this in a proposed list form, as it is my thing:

Versions of ANHR:

XVID (English 5.1, movie only)
DVD5 NTSC/PAL (English 5.1, text commentary only)
DVD9 NTSC/PAL (English 5.1, bonus features)
DVD5 NTSC Purist (English 5.1, movie only)

Versions of ESBR:

DVD5 NTSC/PAL (English 5.1, movie only)
DVD9 NTSC/PAL (English 5.1, Spanish 2.0?, French 2.0?, Italian 2.0?, movie only)
DVD5 NTSC/PAL (bonus features only)
DVD9 AVCHD (720p movie only, English 5.1, isolated score?, instructions for replacing audio with foreign language)

That seem right, Ady?

It's a circular shaft.  Right and Left is irrelevant.  The only thing defining right and left is the camera angle, which can be written off as the camera being moved from one side of the vane to the other.

but I'm all for seeing continuity restored where possible

Don't forget that shots get flipped for continuity in the first place - continuity of motion rather than contuity of, say, buttons.

I still think Biggs and Luke are about to collide when I see Ady's BoY ;)

Just a quick question: what different audio languages are available for the ESB GOUT or original theatrical laserdisc/ VHS versions ?

I have the VHS of ESB GOUT in (Spain) Spanish. With what i know i could transfer it to my computer, but i dont know how much quality...

EDIT: Not the original ORIGINAL GOUT, i meant the pack that was released just before the special edition.

Okay Ady, I gonna do the dick move here... If you could put a percentage on how much is done I think we deserve it.

You're absolutely right... you are being a dick :P  Seriously, "we deserve it"?  At least you were upfront about the nature of your "demand".

IF... your contributions to the forum are always thoughtful and well-intentioned, but you might want to consider trimming down the length of (and number of) your posts.  I find otherwise good comments/insights get muddled or lost in the lengthy commentary.

Also, just for fun, I challenge you to make a post without the use of 'quotation marks', italics, bold typefaceunderlines, or 'any combination thereof'.  ;)

Crappy quality is crappy.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that the North American version of the GOUT have Spanish tracks.

Dear adywan,

Are you almost done yet?

I think it's very selfish of you to slack off while I am hard at work sitting on my ass waiting for you to "finish."  It's obvious that you have no intention of ever finishing this project, considering that you refuse to state your current percentage of completion.  In fact, I think it's very likely that your previous Revisited project was an elaborate hoax intended to generate traffic for this thread.  I mean, has anyone actually seen ANH:R?

I think you owe me a progress update, considering how long I have been sitting on the couch in my underwear, picking navel lint out of my navel so I can add it to my lint collection.  Unfortunately I have nothing better to do, certainly not watching ESB:R (and yes, I have a navel lint collection - maybe if you had one too, this edit would be done by now).

TK99 and I are agreed that we will not post in this thread again until you release the edit.  That will teach you!

P.S. Can I be in the credits?

picking navel lint out of my navel

That's the best place to get it!

Oh, and ImperialFighter's posts should be as long and detailed as he deems necessary! That's the kind of stuff that can make an edit better and has been used for that very purpose for a long time. I'm sure Adywan greatly values the detail and passion (for lack of a better word) of IF's posts.

If you really don't like it or care about it, use the scroll function. ;) The only time where posts with lots of pictures bugs me is when someone quotes all of them just to say "that's cool" or something like that.

So called navel lint is in FACT evidence of a little known symbiont life form residing within the navels of most living mammals called a tummy mouse.

The tummy mouse likes to keep warm in it's wee nest and knits light blue blankets which are often pulled away by overly inquisitive (lets call them picky) people with too much time on their hands.

Tummy mice are only distantly related to belly bunnies but they are the subject of another story.

What, get rubbed raw inside a lonely guy's closed hand? (Rim shot!)

I am gonna be bit demanding.

DAMN YOU ADYWAN! I WANT MY BITS AND I WANT THEM NOW!!

Its April 2010 and I am going insane waiting for this.

My guess is you're already there.

Probably just out and out piss my pants in shock for just the trailer of Return of the Jedi Revisited trailer.

There's a trailer for the trailer?

But I gonna ask what we are all thinking.

 "What happened to Vanessa Carlton?"

If you could put a percentage on how much is done I think we deserve it.

 We deserve it for...because we...remember how we...um.

If it is less the 50% I will probably go on tower with a rifle or just do what the Plinkett Reviews guy does with the hookers in the crawl space.

This joke doesn't work so well with multiple punchlines. Not that it works anyway.

There are probably navel lint monsters in the EU.

Hmmm... this is unlikely... I'll cross reference my brain with wookiepedia but this is doubtful. However, I've been watching a lot of StarGate SG-1 where they have those snakey symbionts around the belly button area... Perhaps there's some kind of mix up? =D

*starts popping more popcorn.*

Ady doesn't need to capitulate to any demands here or anywhere else. Status reports are therefore also invalid... All you need to know is that he's doing awesome stuff for free for us all and he'll be open to suggestions... not demands of this type. Also how are "we" deserving of it? You seem to think a fan edit of this magnitude is an easy endeavor... consider yourself incredibly wrong.

I, for one, don't think the line needs any pitch tweaking.  He sounds more in control, more mature.

That's pretty creative, really. :p

I speak no French, but I'm gonna assume that the image's host website is happilly telling us we can't see the image, so we've been given a happy face instead.  I don't believe we could use a happy face in Revisited.

Though posting that over Vader during the father scene would be humorous. lol
