I've uploaded another video this time with Ian in the picture (you don't need to tell me that some of the timing is off, but its just to see if the 'luke' works with the new footage) I mixed the audio from scratch again still using Musical Journey.... think it sounds better, sure I always say that.

 WOW that sounds awesome man

I'm still not convinced.  "Luke" is too short, and the inflection doesn't match what he's saying.  I'm impressed at what you've been able to do with it, I just don't think it can be done convincingly using the materials at hand.

Ok, last suggestion and I think you'll have it - adjust the pitch of "Luke".  That should bring it up to the same tonal quality as "Skywalker" without altering the speed.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

That sounds great. I think some minor adjustments are all that's necessary.

Might you consider putting part of Bingowings' idea to use?

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?

EMPEROR: There is a great disturbance in the Force.

VADER: I have felt it.

EMPEROR: We have a new enemy: Luke Skywalker... He could destroy us.

VADER: Is that possible*? He's just a boy, Obi-Wan can no longer help him.

EMPEROR: The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.

VADER: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.

EMPEROR: Yes, yes, he would be a great asset. Can it be done?

VADER: He will join us or die, my master.

*It may be worth hearing if that line makes a difference in the tone of the conversation.

If Vader seems skeptical that Luke could destroy both Sith, it begs the question, "Why was Vader hunting him at all? Personal feelings?(!)"

That would flow nicely into the Cloud City duel where Vader says, "Luke. You can destroy the Emperor. He has foreseen this. It is your destiny. Join me, and we can rule the galaxy as father and son."

I don't know, I like Vader having some balls and directly confronting Palpatine over the issue rather than hiding it behind a statement that makes it sound only like slight doubt. He needs to appear completely sure of his conviction.

This is verging on the subject of change for the sake of change, IMO.

Right now we're just experimenting. Adywan hasn't committed to anything we've suggested.

You are getting closer... I think that maybe the LU part of Luke needs to be played with - listen to how Ian says most words as the Emperor: it seems the first part of most words are stressed to some degree.  Instead of "lu"ke Skywalker, it would be more like "LE-u"ke Skywalker.  Maybe if you could hold the L for a split second more.

I dunno... overall, it sounds fine to me.  <:)

BTW, a general question to Venal or anyone else:

Is it possible to separate various audio elements so you can keep voice and sound FX but remove music?  I understand the bit of most dialogue coming from the center, with music coming from the left and right or rear channel speakers, but I am thinking of doing a KILL BILL COMPLETE edit (no FX, just straight editing to get the hang of it) and replacing music with different musical pieces - in some cases the music is pretty loud and upfront.

Alrighty then.

The point has been made and emphasised about the window. Just to keep you happy the window was always supposed to be there from the concept stage of film on McQuarries designs:

Speaking of which, and maybe impossible to do, some of the backgrounds that were originally intended for Degobah look twenty times as creepy as the final film set:

Mutant trees and sort of an Alien queens hive enviroment (complete with mutant spider). Spooky!

Amazing ! I have never seen these pics before . May I ask where are they from ?

Very impressive... nearly perfect! A little adjustment and the audio is right. Combine that with the ROTJ footage (as Ady's teaser trailer demonstrates) and it's set! The "side views" should be taken from the footage of the Emperor from the "arrival" scene where he's talking and talking with Vader.

Nice to see something cool when I check the thread after awhile... ;)

I mentioned it only for those keen on shifting the dialogue around.

As a prior motive he would be keen to capture Luke anyway, possibly to use as a convert, possibly just to find out who was training him and if any other Jedi had slipped the net, possibly to find out more about the Rebels and their plans but also because he is his son.

With the Emperor outwardly confessing that Luke could be powerful enough to destroy them both (possibly a lure on the Emperor's side) it could plant the idea of using Luke to take over the whole Empire or maybe shift it from the back of his mind to the front or even to figure out if the Emperor is trying to set him up like he did the Jedi.

I still prefer the original dialogue.

I had an idea for the Emperor, Vader lines. In the OT theres is no use of the word Sidious, Sith or Padme. So I had a few ideas. Maybe somebody can change them around. Here they are:

VADER: What is thy bidding, my master?

EMPEROR: There is a great disturbance in the Force.

VADER: Yes I have felt it.

EMPEROR: We have a new enemy: the young rebel Luke Skywalker son of Skywalker

VADER: How is this possible? I, I couldn't have he wasn't alive I felt it myself.

EMPEROR: Search your yours feelings Lord Vader, you know it be true.

VADER: He's just a boy Obi-Wan can no longer help him.

EMPEROR: The force is strong with him. The son of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala must not be come a Jedi.

VADER: If he could be turned, he would become a powerful ally.

EMPEROR: Yes, yes he would be a great asset. Can it be done?

VADER: He will join us or die, Lord Sidoius

EMPEROR: Good, good then the Sith will rule once more, and we shall have peace.

Um, aren't the Sith already ruling?

Well they are but in the original trilogy no one says the word Sith so I thought he could say it there. And I think it would fit and its a great line.

just remove Sith lines from PT :D

And in your dialogue, vader and palps explain too much unnecessary things. Where is olie already?

Now we're talking.  This is why the OT is vastly inferior to the PT, especially EP 4 and 5 - not enough is explained.  This revised line makes it much more clear that Luke had a father AND a mother.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if the Sith are already in control, there's no reason for the Emperor to imply that once Luke is turned, then the Sith would be in control.  They're already in control!  It makes zero sense.

Yeah, reading it again, it may just have been a joke.  I hope so, but it is very difficult to tell.

It's much easier with someone like Ric.  He never jokes around.

Well, since everyone is offering their version of how the Vader/Emperor conversation should go, here's my preferred version:

VADER: Yo master, what'choo need me do?

EMPEROR: Yo man I am buggin'!  Force be all disturbed and shit!

VADER: True dat.

EMPEROR: I don't know what up with this Skywalker muthafucka, but nigga be trippin'!

VADER: I heard dat.

EMPEROR: Nigga 'bout to be all up in our grill, fuckin' shit up old school!

VADER: Who, Skywalker?  Shee-it, shorty ain't no playa!  Even busted-ass Obi-Wan ain't got that nigga's back no more.

EMPEROR: Yo yo, don't even front.  Nigga got mad Force.  Boy gets hisself some Jedi skills and we ALL fucked.  Now get on that shit, muthafucka!

VADER: Word is bond, master.

Seems like a reasonable compromise to me.
