That mock-up is how I pictured it in my mind - great job as always Vaderois.

And nice to have the fish from Finding Nemo Darth Venal, you were the one who suggested we turn it into a fishtank ;)

I think that window should be the least distracting possible. Its an important shot, you dont want to be amazed by the background while big things are going on.

Bingowings, thanks for the garden. I was hoping for a hanging basket or two, but maybe that's just me. ;-)

And to the person who whined about this being "MS Paint thread", I think you'll find most of use Photoshop (or one of its variants) or Corel. MS Paint doesn't get you results like these fine works.

I think I might do a spoof SE edit of Empire. Outside every window on Bespin I'm going to have an entirely different background. Remember Danny DeVito's phone call in Throw Mama From the Train..?  :-)

Agreed but in Angel's mockup the view not only shows a bit more of the majesty of the locale but keeps Vader and Fett firmly in the foreground (in fact they look clearer set against the sun bleached cityscape than they do against the big distracting and largely empty pale blue circle in the original).

Totally agreed with that. The original shot is just bland, the blue circle behind them doesn't really achieve anything except look like they couldn't afford a better background. A sunbleached backdrop works very well. I still want a hanging basket outside though.

My sentiments exactly. I wonder what Ady's gonna have done to it. I was just wondering about the people doing the sfx, there's Ady and Double0Five, but who else? Sorry for sounding so dumb.

There is a world of difference between a mockup and the heaps of work needed to pan and tilt that background in time with the camera moves in a convincing way mind.

Eden's gardens in Bespin? hmm sounds promising! :)

Yes. Like an atrium.

Exactly we could write thousands of words explaining a possible change or we can post a single image.

Personally, I love the images and mock ups.

What about all those other round (and half circle) windows seen fleetingly in the dining room scene and out side the room? No one notice those?

sure thing...

I suppose they will get the same treatment ;)

I fear most about the masking in some areas like the one that chewie passes from the window and the other when sparks are emitting from vader's hand when han shoots him...

thank zod for the stock footages :)

So true where this scene is concerned.  However, I'm really hoping Adywan decides to give this one some kind of embellishment, even if it's just mainly a 'sky' shot.

vaderios, your still version certainly had a marvellous view there.  Great stuff.

I wouldn't go by the colouring to determine if it is sunrise or sunset though. Which ones below are sunrises and which are sunsets?

OK, well here's the answer:

1 - Sunrise
2 - Sunrise
3 - Sunrise
4 - Sunrise
5 - Sunset
6 - Sunset

Which proves that sunrises can look the same as sunsets and vice versa. It's all dependant on Atmospherics, location and time of the year.

Nice mock-ups Angel. I haven't started the windows yet but i always liked the more minimalistic look of the originals and the look that they are very high up, so the buildings aren't going to be as prominent.

Double0Five isn't doing any Fx work. he is helping out in other areas ( gathering names for credits etc.) I'm doing the majority of the Fx work myself and i have someone helping out with a bit of CG work

A cool but absolutely unnecessary add would be to have IG-88's "eyes" move independently of each other, similar to how they did in the 2-D Clone Wars cartoon (and I think also in the new CGI Clone Wars, if I recall correctly). But yeah, not an important change, just would be cool to see in a non-animated version.

An interesting idea, but one i probably won't be doing. The clone wars is after all part of the EU.

Ah yes sure. the second pic is from MF arrival at sunset/sunrise, with some  shoping.

The idea is to make less buildings but at the end i was tired so i put the pic as it has.

if you still want to keep the "minimalistic" look add some elements that remind is a city and more depth ;)

The talk about sunrises/sunsets/horizons got me thinking... In the shot of the Falcon escaping Bespin below, should some colour/atmospherics be added to the crescent?

And that is exactly what the photoshop mock-ups are doing. I 100% encourage people to post screenshots and mock-ups as it has been a lot of help for me to be able to visualize many of the suggestions that have been put forward.

Looks terrific, I know this is just an example, but that particular building is reused too many times I believe.

I wish it was true but I think Lucas said that the CG Clone Wars movie and the CG TV series (series that I find myself enjoying for the most part, unlike the "movie") are Star Wars canons (?)

But of course on this matter it all depends of our personal state of mind!

Lucas did indeed say that. The idea is that the films, CG series and forthcoming TV series will be official cannon, and everything else EU (and so fair-game for contradiction - see Karen Travis's hissyfit and subsequent quitting writing for SW for details).

Of course, that doesn't mean (as you suggest) they have to be a part of adywan's personal canon, but they are not considered EU by lucasfilm.
