I think the shot is just fine the way it is. Your shadows hace also obscured some of the details, the people are now harder to see.

vaderios, that cloud city shot looks great and it's one of the shots that needs changed because the cloud patterns are exactly the same as the shot in ROTJ when it pans up. This shot would be easier to change because it is a static shot unlike ROTJ being a shot panning up. At least the crowds are different between the two movies in the similar shots, though.

Perhaps in ROTJ:R Ady could just show the strap still stuck in the Carbonite when Han falls out.
I believe Ady has said that his plan is to add the strap to RotJ, no worries.

I always thought whatever that was made of was was designed to dissolve in carbonite.

All you would need to do is have vaderios' enhanced picture over the existing footage, and mask out the areas with people, so you can see the 'original' people, without them being enhanced, too.

The different sky and enhanced lights make a big difference. Now there's more than one color in that scene! (which I said about a scene in AOTC the other day, too)
Oh, and vaderios, in that pic I made, they're not 'remains' of a plane, it is a plane. ;) It's the opening to the movie "Airplane!" They made it a spoof of "Jaws", where all you see is that bit of the plane going through the clouds like Jaws' fin went through the water.
I really like the brighter lights in the cloud city mockup. Even just changing those could make that shot a lot nicer.
Yeah, the brighter lights really gives the whole thing more life. The original shot feels rather flat.

I'm a little slow here... I just realized your shot was the one on the right vaderios :) I agree with the other members: the added lights give the scene a lot more realism. However, is ady keeping these exterior shots during Lando's announcement?

Ralph McQuarrie already did some art on this years ago. They're called Aiwas and they fly around Bespin. They were later used by Lucas on Kamino.

right on the tick Shanerjedi, those where among the original ideas Lucas had, amomng the Death Star being Bespin instead of a moon-shapped station, Vader having a throne surrounded by fire, coruscant filled with piramids, wookies intead of ewoks (I would have gone with that one!), and the like.....the untold riches in the star wars that never was, hehe.

The Cloud City design was based on an Imperial prison design for ANH but the Death Star was always a metal moon.
No drama here, it's a technicallity: Imperial Prision = Bespin, Death Star = metal moon, but the motif: "an ugly place to hold Leia prisioner" is the same....
No drama over here in pedant corner but the Death Star was a weapon, the prison was moved to the same location for story efficiency (remember when Lucas used to do that?).
ok, had a bit of a panic today. lost my internet connection and i was worrying that i would miss being able to post todays teaser pic. so i'm running a bit later than usual .
well i decided that i'm going to start a sort of countdown because its only 3 weeks til the trailer. so this week you will be getting 3 pics, next 2 then the week before the trailer you'll get 1
the pics wil be online in a moment, just need to catch up with whats happening in the thread first
