I think we can now safely assume Ady's ESB:R is going to be the most ultimate version of ESB we're ever going to get, unless LFL can bring something out the bag last minute about what they've fixed/improved for the blu-rays, which I seriously doubt.

Accomodating OT to suit PT is like a blasphemy to me... No way you touch my old static screen!

While I consider people like you (who use words like "blasphemy") to be awesome, I disagree with you. Personally, I think that a brighter screen will be a little more realistic... *if* it were done a little better.

I forgot to add ";-P" at the end of the sentence, sorry ;-)

But as a 42 year old guy, ESB always worked the way I saw it from the 1st to the Nth time... until Uncle George take out from his sleeve the "infamous" Special Edition.

By the way... "realistic" you say? In a world full of aliens, light swords, robots and spaceships? ;-)

That's the world I live in and it seems pretty realistic to me.

The ultimate edition of ESB for me will always be the one I saw in 1980 but this is the SE release I'm desperate to see (not the one sort of promoted yesterday with great fanfare but very little content).

There hasn't even been a screen shot shown to us yet from the other one but for this one we have had clips, screenshots a plenty and we have been listened to.

^^ That's because Ady's a fan himself and this project is something he knows we're all excited about.

LFL on the other hand almost seems to have a weird/distant passive aggressive relationship with us.

Yeah, I asked LFL if they wanted to go hang out at the mall with me and they're all 'we have things to do.' So I asked 'what things?' And they got all defensive, like 'We can't say. It doesn't matter!' So I'm all 'fine, I'll go up there by myself and have a great time! You'll see!' And they just shrugged and said, like, 'whatever.' And I'm all, 'yeah, whatever.' Then they text me the next day like nothing happened. What is up with them?

Not to off-track, but as far as the Hoth AT-ST being removed, while this is coming late... pictures of the original ILM walker prop surfaced a couple years back from a collector in Japan and were shared selectively with some model builders on a replica model forum. A bunch of guys (myself included) have recreated the Hoth walker in 1:1 scale including the working stop-motion armature the original had and 99% of the kit parts used on the original. The picture set that was shared in confidence showed the original model in great detail. I have plans to shoot some stop-motion scenes with mine in the future, but it will probably be some time after the revisited release so it would be coming too late. It's too bad the scene was ruined, and I do agree on its short cameo seeming a bit out of place without it included.

Here's one of the builds by a man named Lee Ralph... thought some might find this of interest considering the original prop had all the details ripped off of it after TESB for reference when they were creating the go-motion Jedi walkers.

That's so cool! It's a shame we can't use something like that for ESBR. Oh well, what Ady has done for the battle so far is pretty incredible!

a model AT_ST would be useful in ROTJ-R for the endor battle which adywan is editing

was there an airfix like AT_ST model kit?

"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings

There have been a few.

I had this one back in the day:

But you couldn't use the ESB Scout Walker in ROTJ:R (unless it were to feature variants in the ground battle) because they are so different from each other.

I prefer the ESB AT-ST it's more stylish and it's gait was more spooky.

In a nutshell, the ESB version has a more vertical stance and a more sloped forehead.  The rest is greeblies.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

ESB legs are longer as well. The RotJ one is more stable, probably because they actually had to build a full-sized one.

Isn't Vader in that hanger right after the falcon escapes?

No, there is more than one hangar entrance. When Leia is briefing the rebels she says " all troop carriers will assemble at the North Entrance. " and at the beginning of the movie when Han asks the rebel if Luke had checked in he replies "I haven't seen him. It's possible he came in through the south entrance". Now we can determine from this that there are at least 2 entrances, North & South, but as both of these lines are delivered when they are near the hangar entrance where the Falcon is parked, i would say there are more than 2 and that the base is quite large.

I'm just putting the finishing touches to a slightly extended trailer. It is based upon the "final" trailer, but all the shots have been swapped with the latest versions direct from ESB:R, with the final colouring and FX work ( for most shots) plus a few extra new ones. Once it's finished i'll post a link

 Yes! :dancing:

Wowsers! I have all along like everyone else been waiting so long and patiently for this to come out. I get more excited with every new thing that you release, but that trailer is just awesome. I just got even more excited to see this. Looks superb! Great work. You are the man!

It's also been uploaded to youtube too but it's taking forever to process, but i'll post the link to the youtube version as soon as its finished.

I'll upload the new pics here as soon as i can

EDIT: YOUTUBE LINK

Nice! Looks pretty damn good.

A teeny observation, you used the sound effect of luke's saber igniting from the 2004 SE and from ROTJ. Please don't use that sound in the actual film, it doesn't really fit.

But overall, this is turning out to be pretty sweet.

Love the AT-AT cockpit picture over on Facespace (I hardly go there so I haven't seen it before now).

It's amazing how a tiny little detail like that can really sell a shot.

not to sound like a greedy beggar but is there any hope of comparison pics?
