The bottom of the two mockups does draw the eye more to Vader than the ceiling and does account for the SE compounded light well on the floor but I think the best approach is to grade the lighting between the set and the matte sections so (like the original shot) the difference in lighting vanishes or is barely noticeable.

Why? Why do we need to draw the viewers eye up to a meaningless area of the bridge and away from what's important?

Ziz said:

Not to mention the fact that adding that lighting effect would mean it would need to be added to every shot of the bridge, not only in this film but in ROTJ:R as well.  Too much work to solve a problem that didn't exist in the first place.

I agree, and I'm sure Ady would feel the same way.

Ady, I know on your front page of the points of things you listed fixing, you say on the Bespin section, "24. fixing continuity errors of Piette changing sides of the bridge."

Theres also the kid Lieutenant that disappears and reappears.

If this has been mentioned before,.......ignore.

Maybe moreso than the first mockup, but both of Monroville's mockups draw the eye to the ceiling more than the original unaltered screenshot.

Speaking of which, having seen your pics V, I guess another question for Ady:

Are all of the TIE fighters going to have red engines visible from behind?  I'm not sure if all of the rear shots of TIE fighters/bombers/etc retain visible red engine glows.

I'm trying to add the engines to all rear shots of the TIEs but some are just too difficult to track so it's likely that some TIEs won't have them

Ady I think (not sure) you mentioned that you will reuse the same shot that piet says "yes my lord" in the tractor beam shot because when Piet says for the first time Yes my lord its from an other shot and the officers and the BG is not match.

So i have to ask if this is true. Logically you will replace the background from vader too in the close ups because its the same/flipped from the hoth scenes

Also when piet later says "alert all commands" will you replace its BG to be next to vader because he clearly talking to the crew in the pit of the bridge?

The "yes, my lord" scene has been fixed and it no longer changes to a shot of Piette in the command centre, and the background is now correct when it switches to vader, again instead of the control room.

The pit shot is another thing. There isn't a shot of the correct pit to use apart from in Jedi, but that's when the bridge deflector shield gets destroyed and it's too chaotic to use.

Is this amalgamation still in ESB:R?

No, That's gone.

Monroville, I actually like that idea, but i don't think it's something i'd want to do for Revisited.

Really? Well thats a shame, the shot looks great. But it's your edit and in the long run, you probably know whats best for it.

Yes, probably. Haha. ;)

Love that new SSD shot and the comparisons with the older versions. The thing that still gets me every time is how ESB:R has STARS! Imagine that! :p

Yeah... I was kinda feeling the same way right after I made the mock-ups and posted them.  The idea is interesting, but how would you do it without having to muck around with every single shot of someone up front on the bridge?  Regardless, it was more for just posting the image out there to visualize a concept (as opposed to a request for it being done in Revisited).

Nice touch slipping the shuttle-replacement in there. I'll always miss the TIE-Shuttle, but not too much. I thought Yoda's mouth looked funny on the corner farthest from the camera sometimes, and initially blamed it on whatever mouth-warping wizardry you've been doing... until I realized that Yoda's mouth really is a little funny on the side, all the time.

Wow..... just..... wow......

Ady, what I love most is how you use the subtlest of digital tweaks on what is already an astonishingly life-like muppet.  I can't even tell with complete certainty what was original and what your tweaks are.  That's how cgi should be used.

Wow.

I dunno if this has been mentioned or not, but it seems like after the SE was coloured all blueish, Yoda's eyes and skin become one exact colour tone - were you planning on making his eyes slightly more vibrant?

Did anyone else notice the edit is no longer scheduled for 2011 release?

I hate how you tube re-compresses the video. Ady how about a Rapidshare link to a better quality clip?

But anyway, yoda's mouth enhancements look really genuine and not distracting at all. The shuttle replacement looks great also. Did you use the audio from the original Tie Shuttle or did you use the sound from one of the imperial shuttle's used in Jedi?

@((((TV's Frink))))  It's still has a 2011 release date. Check Ady's last post.

It might be just Youtubes compression because his eyes certainly don't have the same colour tone as his skin. The whites of his eyes have a neutral tone because i rotoscoped his eyes in almost every shot to eliminate this. if you turn the saturation all the way up you can see that the eyes remain virtually neutral:

That is pretty damn cool clip!  Anybody notice the shuttle slipping out of the regular "horizontal" hanger inside the bigger "blockade runner" one (at 5:13)?  Ady also added shadow and light details, as the shuttle lightens up once it drops below the bigger hanger.
