Hey Ady, rewatching the trailer again, I noticed that in the shot where Leia, Lando, and Chewie run along the Bespin balcony, R2 seems to be stuck in the hallway, and you can see his back leg stop for a moment and move back and forth as if stuck. Also, in that same scene, the R2 element slightly "bleeds" onto the wall that is in front of him, which is noticeable because the wall's edge stops being straight when R2 passes behind it:
Also, is the blurriness of the running characters in this scene fixed? I know you've said a while ago that the ILM elements botched the superimposed character elements in the SE, but the blurry outlines they have in the ESB:R trailer are not very convincing; it looks like Leia, Lando and Chewie were pasted in the scene.
What you saw in the trailer was an early version of this shot before the final rotoscoping . The rotoscoping done in the SE was awful but i couldn't use the GOUT to fix this because it was just too bad quality. The R2 issue with the wall has been fixed. The strange motion you see with R2 as if he is jumping around is due to the fact that they didn't bother stabilizing the footage before rotoscoping him and then they did a very bad job at changing the position where he stops because they had changed the position of the elements from the original. I've stabilized R2 and he turns a lot smoother now

Ady,
We see that you have cleaned up the stop-motion of the Tauntauns, so that their movement is smoother and more realistic.
Have you done anything similar with stop-motion on the AT-ATs?
Sometimes, the movement of the models makes them feel like "models" and I wish I didn't notice it as much.
Are there any plans to do anything about the lighting of the daylight scenes of the Hoth battle, particularly at the end, when General Veers takes out the Shield Generator?
In some shots, it's crystal clear blue sky, then overcast, then blue sky, then overcast again, all in a matter of seconds.

From my own experience I would suggest you spend as much time as you can together as it may be time you will never get back. I figure you will do that anyway as you seem like a thoroughly decent bloke.

Adywan my friend,
My sincerest thoughts are with you during this most difficult time. You've gone above and beyond to bring Star Wars edits ahead of their time and for that I know everyone whose enjoyed them is eternally grateful.

vbangle is far from new. And far from undeserving.
Having said that, I'm failing to see the relevance of haraldo's gif. Maybe it's only because it is the slowest loading gif in the history of the gifiverse, so I'm still waiting to see if the soccer ball hits the guy in the face, but still...

Wow, that's a gif? Here I thought it was just a still image of one guy kindly offering his soccer ball to another guy.
Which is to say, yeah, it didn't really make much sense to me either.
