What software do you folks recommend for doing pics like that? I currently use Fireworks and my biggest problem is getting around things like Luke and Leia for merging two images. Whenever I use the erase or rubber stamp tool for things like that it takes me forever and sometimes my nerve problems don't allow for me to make a smooth mask or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah, that's when a Wacom would come in handy, I suspect.
By R2's socks, are you asking if he should be lowered closer to the floor? I would imagine such a thing wouldn't be too hard to accomplish.
Hey Ady, have you ever found inspiration from things like Robot Chicken or Family Guy? Sometimes they point out some of the real foibles that others may not have noticed.

hey adywan, was just curious how the music was going. Have you gotten close to that point yet and is there any thing i can be of service with as far as that goes? My knowledge in remastering has improved since we last met... (attempting not to finish that line) lol
If you'd like, I can try and do an edit specifically for this project for you of the entire unabridged score? I know ABC is working on one too and its a great achievement but there are still some mixing errors (can't pm him to tell him lol)

By R2's socks I meant the copex tubing used to disguise Kenny Bakers legs going into R2's feet.
Doesn't appear too many times in ESB, but can be seen in almost every movie (perhaps not in ROTS as they used a CG R2 frequently)
Don't know if Ady has this on his list, but every time I see it I know its Kenny in the can.
I use Photoshop to edit images, I use a graphics tablet If I want to be precise, but for this & the 'That's all folks', I used the mouse-pad on the Mac-Book, thats why it looks rough.

Kenny Baker's socks... Just when you think you know everything about these movies, something else is pointed out. We have been picking at these movies for what, four years? And there are still little things to notice. Even if they are "mistakes", they're still fun to look for.

While I was doing some Kenny 'sock' research I noticed a part of R2's foot breaks off when he crashes to the bouncy ground after being dropped by Luke.
This part springs off

I appreciate how much more hard work it would be but has to be said there is an inconsistency between keeping the socks (which would be fine if they were always there) and worrying about the number of rifles in the Death Star observation booth thing.
Perhaps someone should list the plain continuity issues that Ady doesn't fix (not differences in artistic taste but just items that mysteriously change shape, size or number) once a Revisited project is done and (with Ady's permission) break down the location and frequency of those items and share out the work so even if Ady is fine with them being there someone has a patched sequence that could be inserted to blitz everyone of the buggers.
I can't recall many other details like this spotted after the final version of ANH:R (obviously any that do get spotted should be included in the ANH:SE Redux thread).

I would say a majority of continuity issues would be impossible to fix. Using parts of different takes leave hands and fingers and even hairs in different positions depending on the shot. I'm a huge fan of continuity, but there are limits to what people can do to fix them. Luke's cup of blue milk still changes hands while he's talking to his uncle. He brings the pitcher to himself twice before that. These things cannot be helped, they are a part of single-camera, multi-take film-making. Props disappearing between shots should be fixed, but I don't believe we can change the acting continuity errors.

I've had a quick scan through ESB and all shots of R2 standing on two legs with Mr.Baker acting are shot in a way to hide the 'socks'.
He's either shot from above middle, his feet has a tree stump in foreground or whilst watching the x-wing sink has dry-ice disguising the copex.
The only shot you see the signs of Kenny's legs are at the Finale of the movie.
ANH has quite a few scenes, dunno bout ROTJ.
I'm gonna do a wee mock-up to see how the scene goes.

While I respect the work and research being done on the socks, perhaps the discussion belongs in another thread such as the ESB/ROTJ wishlist?
