Any news on the missing scene on Hoth, ya know the echo station 38 being blown to bits by the Imp. Probe?  And before anyone say's it...its not EU, it's in the official comic adaption and the draft. Shouldn't be too hard to intertwine into that scene (well not hard for Adywan) otherwise Han saying "It isnt too friendly..." makes no sense as there is nothing to base that assumption on just by hearing the electronic broadcasts from the probot.

A little green screen, some snow, a model or two, some visual effects and ta da!! A scene!  Yeah I make it sound easy, and yes I know it's much more involved than that but how cool would that scene be?

Comics and drafts that not following or expanding the currect state of movie(s) is EU. what they showed to us as final product it is the final reference.

If its (sounds) so simple why not showing us what you mean? ;)

Adaptations and drafts count as "EU" in the sense that Adywan won't reference them just for the sake of it. He's not going by what Lucasfilm officially calls "EU", he just uses it as a shorthand for "everything Star Wars that isn't on-screen".

Of course, it's up to Adywan if he wants to put such a scene in, but if he does it will be because it adds something good to the film in its own right, not just because it was in a different version of the story.

Re Han saying "It isn't friendly", it makes enough sense as is; it's technology, and it isn't Alliance technology. For all they know at that point it might be harmless, but it isn't friendly, and it's not worth taking chances on.

Hey guys I'm new here this is my first post and I know I'm gonna get destroyed for asking this because I'm just a casual fan but I have a couple of questons:

Adywan, I'm a big fan of what you are doing and I would like to thank you.  I have A New Hope: Revisited, and I will definately get The Empire Strikes Back: Revisited.

But I want to ask: why you are changing Boba Fett's voice from the SE?  Because all of your changes have to do with consistancy, and this changes just cancels out the consistancy established by the PT.

Also, on a side note, I wish (I know I'm probably the only one on here that does) that you would keep Vader's shuttle going back with the Executor.  I agree with you about changing his line to "bring my shuttle," but when the SE shows Vader's shuttle, it just looks cool, those are my favorite Star Wars aircraft.  Plus the music from the scene fits perfectly with that shot.  I just want to know why you are scrapping that, I'm sure there's a good reason.

OK thats all for now I'm looking foward to many debates and heated arguments on here.  :)

PT should follow OT not the other way around. Ady said that Jango and clones will get an other voice when PT:R is on the works.

The suttle is gone for sure because we dont need to see it happening while it brakes the pacing of the pursuit :)

Aww, but they're my favorite Star Wars aircraft.  :(

LOL just kidding.

I understand that most people (especially on this forum) aren't too fond of GL's "additions" on the SE DVDs, I just thought the ones in ESB weren't too bad.

Even with these changes, I'm still definately getting this... can't wait!

yeah if I had that kind of talent I'd do it myself. ;-)

There are smaller adjustments, add-on's etc. etc. that have been suggested and I thought it would lend more credibility to the scene if we actually saw or at least heard why it wasn't friendly. I mean if someone introduced you to someone on the phone and then said I dont think he's very nice but gave no reason for not being nice wouldnt you be curious as to why that person isnt nice?

Watch that scene again and think how cool it would be to at least hear laser blasts, yells, static, then "it isnt friendly whatever it is".

Its more of an enhancement of the scene not a complete redo, its kind of what Adywan did for the tie introduction on the battle of the death star. He could have left that alone but he wanted to bring it to his vision of what it could have been. I think Lucas had a brain fart and just forgot or didn't have the time to edit that in.

I didnt realize that drafts and original official comics of the movie (old school) were considered EU but thanks for the heads up. I just thought it was interesting to see that scene and imagined how cool that would be to see.

Anywho...again thanks for the heads up

Part of the reason why people get annoyed with newbies in this thread sometimes is that a lot of the questions asked are answered in the first post...which many don't even read. Or if they do, they sort of browse through it so quickly that they don't even notice the info they're looking for. :p

Agreed Ripplin, in fact at this point I think it might be worthwhile formalising three blanket rules for the Revisited thread/s:

1. If someone asks a question that can be answered by reading the first post, we jump on him, maybe with one warning.

2. If someone asks a question that can only be answered by reading the entire thread, then we answer him straight, with reference to the relevant post if anyone can be bothered finding it.

3. If someone asks a question that can only be answered by reading the entire thread and someone jumps on him, we jump on the first jumper.

What does Ady have to say on this? 'Tis just an idea.

I agree...I was having fun with the fellow newbie is all. It does have to get old repeating yourself all the time. I like the new rules though, sounds fun. :-)

Maybe someone should create a FAQ. ;)

I look at it as if the thread was a book, most of us read from the beginning to understand whats going on but some ppl read the last page and ask questions about the rest.

I read through the whole thread when I first got here. I was actually very interested in the beginnings, it only took me a day to get on track with everybody. Sometimes I do forget, but it is rare.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I like those rules RoccondilRinon -- they remind me of Asimov's Laws of Robotics :)

While I don't expect people to actually read every post in a 705 page thread, it is rather easy to simply skim every page for Adywan's posts.  That alone would likely answer most people's questions.

Come on guys play nice...I remember my first post on here and it was asking about Jedi.

I'd hate to think we'd scare off people who may have something valuable to offer in the way of a fresh perspective because they hadn't got fully to grips with where everything was or hadn't read all seventeen and a halfish thousand posts on a seven hundredish page thread.
