I agree that de-bluing can be taken a bit too far in some instances. If you take too much out, you run the risk of making a shot look bland and removing the "cold" feeling of outer-space. Obviously the 2004 DVDs took it way too far (and was probably unintentional), but leaving a little bit in some shots of the cleaned up versions isn't a bad idea IMO. I still think all the TIEs should be gray, though. :p

As for the colour of TIE fighters, I must say it is painfully obvious that the blue colour is the bluescreen leaking, in the GOUT you can clearly see the colour flickering all over the place with plain grey underneath.

There are blue and white TIEs: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/exhibit/tie.html

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Please stop, don't restart the TIE colouring debate. It has already been tried and tested by Ady, so no need to discuss it any more.

One another note, Ady. Sad to hear that the Bespin approach is not being included in the final version, but I can see why it has to go, continuity and all.

Your reveal shot was one of my favorite shots in the trailer..... please don't cut it.

Couldn't you keep the shot and then have the falcon fly to the other side and turn around coming in from the other angle? YOu do have a falcon model...

Just a thought...

The trailer 'reveal' shot will still be around Matticon, it's the later shot of the 'distant' City 'reveal' that is going to be altered....to remove the (secondary) 'sun' that is seen on the left of the frame during it.

On that note, let's do Avatar Revisited next... ;) Where the Na'vi will be grey. XD

"If I want to paint my house green, even though everybody says I should paint it red. Guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar."

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Well, Jar Jar only comes in a special edition paint. One that is a flame retardant.

Mmm... yes... back to ESB:R. I'm working on another X-wing helmet and I'm hoping to get the Hoth X-wing jacket done by the end of the week along with getting the last Blastech A-295 we need for our last Hoth Solider...

2 Hoth X-wing pilots, and 4 Hoth Rebel Soliders for those of you keeping score. =D Pics to be posted when those things come together. =)

Hi Adywan et al.

Long time listener, first-time caller.

Signed up just to say: awesome work on everything so far. I've read (almost) all of this thread so far over the past couple of weeks.

Also? Yeah, let's give the TIE fighter thing a rest...yeesh. :)

I think that Cloud City would look kinda silly up-side-down...although it would be cool to see the MF approach like that.

A lame joke, playing off Hot-Rod's joke..............I feel soo dirty.

In conclusion, we should move in a more "on topic" direction. I'm interested in what's going on with the Wampa.
