Something i forgot to mention a few weeks ago was that when i went to Memorabilia in November there was a seller with my Revisited ANH for sale as a 2 disc set. Now strangely enough the second disc was supposed to be the bonus disc and was called "Deleted Magic: Revisited" and my Adywan logo had been taken out from the cover and replaced with "Orange Cow Productions" instead. Gotta say i was pissed off and reported the guy for selling bootlegs but they didn't seem to bothered about doing anything and i didn't want to kick up a fuss because i had my daughter and her 10 year old sister with us. Now i wasn't going to bother mentioning this but then i noticed that there is now a new version of Deleted magic with "Revisited" added in the title.  This got me wondering, especially with a certain ex-member of these forums being know for selling other peoples edits. Seems strange to me that it would now contain "revisited" in the title and i saw my edit being sold with this as the bonus disc. The only thing i can't figure out is why was my Adywan logo removed and replaced with "orange cow productions"? Or is that just the name of the dick-head group who are making these bootlegs to sell?

Dude, the guy is making profit off of YOUR creation, the one YOU envisioned, bought things for, etc., and he even had the audacity to remove your NAME from it.

No matter who was with you, if I was in that position, I would've said something for sure!  Imagine how shocked he'd be to have the actual Adywan himself approach him.

Im sure Adywan didnt kick up a fuss because at the end of the day it might be his vision and someone might be making a profit of it but at least its Ady's vision and Adywan knows in his heart that its his creation and his hard work that will capture ppls attention, since the revisited saga is growing in popularity im sure ppl will catch on who the real editor is and maybe orange cow productions may get into a few legal issues, maybe a Adywan fan who so happens to be a copper too? :D

I doubt he reauthored the DVD to remove the opening animation, or the Revisited Credits at the end.  I wonder which version it was....

Haha, nice find, Deadmeat.

Funny I see your name now, as my friend was just telling me about how his son named his first goldfish. He picked "Fishy" and the father was like "surely you can be more creative than that", so the boy thought for a second and said "dead meat."

I sure was surprised when version 2.0 of Deleted Magic was released with the "Revisited" title. Surely they could have thought of something else! It just looks like they're piggybacking on your success. And now look what has happened. I sincerely hope OCP itself hasn't done this. It's probably just some clueless moron.

The fur looks nice. Just keep the grape juice away from it. :)

I kinda agree.. OCP put out that fantastic THIEF AND THE COBBLER edit.. even so, I can't say it would surprise me if it was the same guy, just that I doubt it, since a lot of OCP's stuff can be downloaded for free, albeit from other sites.

I'm going to have to disagree here.  The use of the term "revisited" to denote a second improved version of a work is well established, and Adywan hardly invented it or has a monopoly on it.

If this OCP fellow really is passing off ANH:R as his own work, then that is of course utterly deplorable.    I can't believe people have the audacity to sell what others have done for free.  :-(

The fur looks good though!

I doubt it had anything to do with OCP as this was for sale in the UK, but it does piss me off when other people profit from these edits. It didn't mention my name anywhere on the cover, but they used my cover with different text added on the back. The text almost made it look like it was an official Lucasfilm release apart from the orange cow small logo on the back where my adywan logo use to be

I remember Ady said that the snow could be probably hard if not impossible to fix and maintain continuity in these shots.

Maybe im wrong :)

That really does add insult to injury.  Not to mention the fact that selling fanmade products that look like official releases could potentially cause all kinds of trouble that have so far been avoided.

Maybe the OCP bit was a smoke-screen...

Well, isn't selling fan edits illegal? Can't you just point the authorities in his direction, without worrying about your own stuff because you don't sell it? Or is that a chance nobody wants to take?

Ehhh... devil's Emperor's advocate here, but isn't just distributing a fan edit illegal? Let's be honest, we've only got the moral high ground on this one because George keeps screwing us over.

It does look like it could be nothing to do with OCP at all...

Someone has done a bit of investigating already . Just got an email of someone ( i won't mention any names but you know who you are and thanks:) ). Here are some very interesting snippets direct from OCP:

I do have a list, and
here it is. I have no knowledge of "Episode 4: Revisited" - I don't
follow current Star Wars fanediting attempts.

To cover my own expenses I ask a paypal of 10 bucks
to tygerbug@****.com for each disc ... $5 extra if
overseas (for the whole package, no matter how many
you order) ... I can also throw in a free DVD of my
own films if you like.

If you like Deleted Magic, also try Building Empire and Returning
to Jedi, by British author Jambe Davdar.

My discs:

+ Star Wars: Deleted Magic: Revisited for 2009! Go behind the scenes
with this look at deleted footage and editing secrets of the original
Star Wars. "The best documentary ever made about the making of Star
Wars" - Clive Young, book Homemade Hollywood.

+ Star Wars Classic Edition 2.0 - REVISED FOR 2006! A
new DVD quality version of the original, non special
version of Star Wars. From the 2004 DVD and the OT
2006 laserdisc DVD. The only Star Wars DVD you need.
(Features a commentary track featuring the entire
cast, isolated score and THX intro.)

Dual layer available for an extra $10, printed cover
for an additional $10.

+ The Empire Strikes Back Classic Edition -  A new DVD
quality version of the original, non special version
of The Empire Strikes Back.  From the 2004 DVD and the
OT laserdisc. The only Empire DVD you need. (With
isolated score and Emperor scene comparison.)

Dual layer available for an extra $10, printed cover
for an additional $10.

+ Return of the Jedi Classic Edition -  A new DVD
quality version of the original, non special version.
From the 2004 DVD and the OT laserdisc. The only Jedi
DVD you need. (with isolated score and four easter
eggs.)

Dual layer available for an extra $10, printed cover
for an additional $10.

wow, he is charging $30 for a DL copy of each one of these with a cover. That's $90 just for these 3 movies. How can you justify charging that much for so called costs? $10 to print the cover? and an extra $10 for a DL disc?

and then the list goes on...

the making of The Empire Strikes Back. (PAL)

+ Star Wars Radio Dramas, complete

And that's just some of the discs he is selling for so called non profit. I'm so glad this guy was banned from here and i really hope that he will never be allowed back ever. Even with the postage within the USA and costs for the SL DVD's, covers etc he must be making about $5 at least profit from other peoples work.

Discs, covers, inks etc are so bloody cheap now that the cost would be nowhere near that price. I have personally never charged anyone for any costs when i have sent someone a copy of my work, even when i have sent them overseas.

I guess this is what he uses to fund his movies?

And we all appreciate it very much!

"He" is making money hand over fist using other people's work. To send even 3 or 4 discs from the States costs less than $2, plus what does a single DVD-R cost nowadays, 20 cents? And $10 to print a cover?! Does he use special ink laced with platinum? Man...

This is old news and it was just a matter of time before it started to happen to Ady's works, this guy has been dealing my stuff as well, and there are others here that are guilty of this to,some of which are banned, and I can think of one that is not,but he has been absent for a long time now.

and really there is NOTHING we can do about this,Cassidy and I have tried and it got us no where at all, these losers are going to do what they want,it is greed, easy money to these guys.

it sux that it happens, but it is what it is,and we are stuck with it I'm afraid.

Hell a lot of my HD2DVD projects were being sold on Ebay,iOffer, and Sell.com,along with cassidy's artwork for my projects,so they were very easy to spot.

Wow!  Was it really necessary to quote all of that to add a two-line comment?

I'm sure Adywan doesn't mean that it is absolutely impossible - rather that it would be so difficult as to be practically impossible and therefore not worth bothering with.

I've been searching, but can't find his exact quote. Basically, he was at a comic convention or some such thing and saw a guy selling ANH:R. He kept an eye on him and long story short, when the authorities were brought over, the guy said regarding Adywan's identity 'prove it.' So Ady called his wife and she brought over the actual painting that's featured on the cover. :)
