what was the reason given to why the red tint was taken away by Adywan?

Because they was only in one exterior shot. Never appeared again(not exterior neither interior). So why making it all red when you can just remove it in one shot? :)

Here's a proposal/idea, and before you get combative, hear it out, think it through. How about a donation drive to Ady to get what he has finished of ESB:Revisited released by Christmas or by the end of January? Maybe he can finish all the easier effects touch ups if any left, leaving out the new model Wampa and the few other models he wants to build, the donations from this will help fund building and finishing and those for the v 2.0 to be released later in 2010.

Again....

Lets say set a goal at 400 usd dollars/ (243 pounds.) maybe even 500 dollars (304 pounds) he then can release a Version 1.0 by late January, perhaps slightly sooner, and then from these donations he gets more funding to finish all his models and release a version 2.0 later next year. These donation goal amounts are just an example, they can be higher or lower, of course. It's not much different than donations for cameos proposal or a lottery for workprints. Think about it. If agreed to I'll donate at least 50 bucks, you have my word. But whatever goal to is set, he must get that amount to be able to release v 1.0 earlier than if we had to wait months for all the models to be done. This is a way to get the donations rolling in. Build enthusiasm too!

Edit: and yes vaderios, more people seeing v 1.0 will give him even more feedback.

Thats not a bad idea at all! At least he will take a better feedback at the end and we will get a double wow factor :D

^ Good one there

vaderios, that is a very disturbing picture at the bottom there and also, is the release date may? or is ady moving it back a month or so?

can't blame me for being anxious. but i know family comes first and that's where he needs to be right now.

That's understandable, but personally I could wait the extra 3 to 6 months for red interiors; I just think that your mock-ups V give the AT-AT bridge a lot more life - not just the red tint but the enhanced controls and cabin lighting (not to mention it gives a more realistic approach, being that modern subs and sea vessels kick in the red lights in military "code red" situations).

Even if the red tint isn't used, is there any way to at least darken the bridge and modify the control panel view screens to match Vaderios' mock-ups?

BTW, V, your signature looks like a young L from DEATH NOTE

No, I think I'll wait till its done no matter how far way that is, and I think Ady has other things on his mind at the moment

At the moment, it's not money holding Ady back. Yes, I assume he will still need it when he gets back into making the edit, but he has more important things to do now and trying to get him to rush back into it, even or even especially with donations, will be unproductive and could even come across as selfish and offensive given the reason why he's not working on it at the moment. Even if he were to decide to release a beta or workprint version, which I don't expect he would want to do anyway, there would be no way to put a deadline on it because we don't know how long he'll be away from us and I don't think he does either.

Take care, Adywan, and all the best to you and your family for a safe and happy Christmas.

God bless you and your family Adywan. Your family is more important than any old movie. If this project was more important than your family I wouldn't want it. As for your fund-raiser proposition, I think you mean well, but it's bad timing. What good is money when you're worried about your family. I think it's great that you're trying to show your support for Adywan though. I think right now it's best to be an emotional support, and when the time comes and Adywan is ready to continue with the project then we should bombard him with our monetary donations. Bombard him just like the TIE Bombers bombarded the asteroids searching for the Millenium Falcon in TESB. But right now we need to bombard him with emotional support. How's that for a terrible Star Wars related metaphor? ;)

Have to say an emphatic no on that.

Not that it wouldn't have been great to have won the single 'workprint' at the time, but I doubt that Adywan would want to feel pressured into releasing more unfinished versions out there.

As far as any May 'deadline' that keeps cropping up, I'm not expecting that, and can happily wait to see if the fully completed version does appear next year at all.  And with Adywan's latest announcement, things are naturally on hold for now anyway.

In the meantime, there is already an ongoing 'donation drive' on, and anyone that can spare even a little to this project that will give them so much in return, should be doing so as it is.

It'll be ready when it's ready, and patience is required for it to be done properly.

The last thing Ady needs right now is more pressure.

Many of us have donated without the need for a special campaign.

Ady being a family man knows not only the pressures of this time of the year but also the general economic position and how it effects people, he also is going through a very difficult time within his own family.

If you can spare money to donate please do but adding well intentioned but ultimately misjudged extra pressure on Ady isn't they way to do it.

Also the red cockpit idea isn't going to happen in ESB:R but that doesn't mean someone shouldn't try it for their own edit but that should really be carried over to the ESB/ROTJ Wishlist thread (where ESB ideas that don't appeal to Ady continue to have a life of their own).

You are being absolutely absurd and coldhearted. Give it a rest. But it was this way with SW:R as well wasn't it. I remember your annoying impatient posts in that thread too. Give it a rest.

SevB32, stop trying to extort footage from Adywan.   If your real intent is to send him some money, then just send him some money.

You guys are taking it all the wrong way. I wish his mother the best, all this was proposed for when she gets better in the coming weeks. Vaderios didn't seem to think my idea was so horrible, it helps Ady fund his new models (Which he seems to have a problem with getting funds.) and gets a release out that will be screened for feedback by many more eyes, then the project will be even better by the 2.0 release in later in 2010. Of course it plays down on the list way after his Mother whom I wish her a complete recovery.

I still wished Ady would add more vehicles.. even if it was more Scout Walkers just to show that the Empire has an actual army.  Even if there still has to be only 5 AT-ATs, to see a good 12 AT-STs around them would be impressive.

Example: in the above shot, the one AT-ST could be shrunk down to half the size and moved back on the snow plain, and 2 more could be added so you would have a squad of AT-STs moving into a flanking position.  I would also consider speeding them up to emphazise their ability to outflank an opponent.

Here is a sketch to emphasize what I'm referring to:

The snow plain behind the AT-AT could have a gradual incline, which would allow for one or more AT-STs (at about 1/2 to 1/3 the original shot size) to be inserted further back.  This would allow the AT-STs to remain in the shot while maintaining proper perspective.

Also, as an added idea or alternate one for this shot, how would it look to show a snowspeeder move from the left background and zoom towards us underneath the AT-ATs chin (to help break the horizontal viewing plane)?  In fact, that is something I would consider for the overall "battle of Hoth" sequence in general - a lot of the shots are things moving from the left and right.  How would it look (or would it be conceivable) to add things moving from background- to- foreground (or vice versa) in some of the right- to- left shots?

That shot is wrong.

Assuming and only that you said that the AT-Sts are on a hill. Otherwise the perspective is off

The camera is below AT AT and we see its bottom part when the AT-ST is in right view that normaly we should see its upper parts and to be honest veeery far away.

its a bit tricky.

I made this mockup for an other reason showing how can be the shot with the other leg things

I know in motion cant be done... The shot doenst help/support these enhancements

I love those mock ups, it would be interesting to see if they could hold up as not just stills. While I like the one showing the Snowtrooper there, isn't that supposed to be a narrow neck tube behind Veers leading the rest of the At-At?
