That whole sequence at the beginning of ROTJ:R will be gone so there will be no problem with the scaling when i get to that.

While it will be really neat to see Vader shuttling from the direction of his 'Executor' rather than some random Stardestroyer at the start of 'ROTJ:Revisited', I was hoping that all or part of the long, graceful shot of the actual opening ROTJ Stardestroyer (minus shuttle of course) would be retained somewhat, or even incorporated elsewhere in either 'ESB:Revisited' or ROTJ:Revisited'....

It was always a favourite effects element in the OT for me, and I'd be sorry to see it's awesome majesty excluded from your versions altogether.  Time will tell on the final outcome I guess.

Me too. Sad to hear it will be gone.

But it's an exact duplicate of the opening shot of Star Wars.  That's just plain lazy on the filmmakers' part.  It needs to go (in my opinion, anyway).

If they were just a little less lazy and hadn't cut the shot off in it's prime, the element could have been re-timed and re-worked into a slightly more detailed version of the classic ANH opening.

Instead they completely messed up the opening of ROTJ by making the second Death Star look tiny and fragile compared to the mighty wedge of the Star Destroyer.

I say the Super Star Destroyer should be shown coming in to frame only to be shadowed by the Death Star. It would make an unsuspecting audience think what could possibly dwarf the executor?

George always seemed to dwarf all of these humongous ships by even bigger ships. Let us continue that flow.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Indeed.  That would make a visually impressive opening.  Of course, the opening crawl will need to be re-done, which has already been discussed in the ROTJ wishlist thread.

As far as the shuttle shot as is, it works; certainly better than a bomber shuttle.  Although, I always thought of it as a square-ish troop transport shuttle.  Kinda like this:

Except bigger! :)

Must've been my Kenner upbringing....

O.T. or No T., baby!

Actually it's the concept art for the TIE shuttle for ANH, but the shuttle idea was abandoned in ANH and then used for the TIE bomber in ESB

I still don't see that from this:

Maybe I've just been looking at it wrong, but its always looked like a box to me, and nothing like a TIE Bomber/Shuttle.  I can see frames where it kind of does, but I'm glad its gone.  Series continuity for the win.

i always assumed it was a tie bomber. it always confused me though why they'd consider a tie bomber a shuttle. if that was the case the line should of been, "get a tie ready," or "get a bomber ready," OR "get a tie bomber ready".

the last two lines sound kinda threatening though, but u get the idea.

My understanding is that the TIE space craft design is used in a multitude of ways, Fighter, Advanced, Bomber, Interceptor and Shuttle. TIE craft are primarily used for non-atmospheric flight.

As Bingowings & Ady said it was probably designed as a transport before being used as a bomber.

Nah, I forgot about the TIE bomber originally going to be a shuttle craft in ANH.

Wasn't it going to be some kind of boarding craft back when the air was going to vent from the Tantive IV and the troopers were going to cut through the hull rather than just "blow the bloody doors off"?
