I don't know if this is correct, I don't have the GOUT and I have fullscreen VHS tapes. But from my memory, the scene where we see the Executioner moving out of the asteroid field, they show it physically moving out of the asteroid field in the '97 and '04 version. To my memory, in the original version, they show the ship moving through the asteroid field without sight of the end of the asteroid field present. I prefer that version better. Someone with the GOUT, could you post an image of that scene from the GOUT please? My VHS tapes are fullscreen so it is hard for me to tell whether they show the end ofthe asteriod field or not.

I'd have thought that the Fine Molds Falcon was way too small to get any real good shots of, there are people out there building Studio Scale Replicas of the Star Wars vehicles that are far more accurate than the Fine Molds model in terms of the surface detail etc...  Is it not worth asking on Replica Prop forums for a UK based modeller who might already have a bigger version built that you could use, I know there's the transport depending on how far away etc... but it might be worth a try !

While the Fine Molds Millennium Falcon is on the 'small' side, it is the best model you can get for the money. It has gotten great reviews from modelers on its attention to detail and ESB movie accuracy. It doesn't even compare to the cheaper Revell model. While it's Not 100% perfect, you wont find a better model for $200. Now, the Master Replica Studio Scale MF is much larger and would be great to use, however it isn't 100% accurate either, and $2000 is far less affordable. Not to mention the bigger your model, the bigger the set you have to build.

As far as borrowing models, (esp. from members of the RPF.com) it has been mentioned before, however Ady has expressed his concerns about accidentally breaking someone else's model and has so far turned down the option.

You can really see the difference in size between the included dish and the "correct" size in the second link you posted. I am amazed that Adywan is taking on such a huge task as building this model on top of everything else he is doing with this project. I know what kind of time and patience it takes to build something like this. I built this http://www.starshipmodeler.com/1999/js_warp_eagle.htm years ago, and it was a nightmare due to the brittle parts (sure looks good though). Of course the Fine Molds will be different material, but just the thought of it containing over 800 parts makes my head spin. I can't wait to see how this comes out, but I get the feeling that we won't be seeing it anytime soon.

Adywan, have you worked on or have any plans to make Luke's hand getting cut off more realistic?

Certainly is rather robotic looking.

A question about donations, is there any estimate on how much all this new material will cost?Just to know how big a donation ought to be. I'ven not got any way of using PayPal at the moment, but maybe in the future I can donate something.

I really don't see whats wrong with the Millenium Falcon/Tie Fighters in the asteriod/canyon chase. It looks fine to me. I don't see why adywan is going through the hassel of recreating the asteriod/canyon chase with models, I don't see what's in dire need of fixing?

Because the elements/colouration in the couple of shots where the TIEs collide, and when we see the Falcon with the resulting explosion behind it as it goes through the canyon passage, are probably among the worst effects in the entire movie, and spoil what is otherwise a terrific sequence.

Yeah, that's pretty bad.

IF you notice after the explosion when MF is read to come out of the canyon the supposed asteroid/cratter is other footage because its moving from its own ;)

Like I said, I get that feeling too! Extreme amounts of work for only one man.....this could take a long while, but I'm sure it will look great.

I know. If I lived in the UK, I would totally be ady's volunteer assistant. Hell, I would pay HIM to work on this project. Just bringing him coffee, dusting the models, combing the wampa puppet, etc.

I love those new pics, especially the Emporer, even tho thats old. hehe. Anyways to the thing about reflective windows on Bespin, isn't this supposed to be a "used" universe? Where not everything is sleek and shiny? I always kinda thought Cloud City was a little too clean for a used universe

Well look at it this way. Lando is a cool and clean guy he would have them waxing those floors and cleaning those windows. The empire wouldnt have enough time to keep the death star spic and span with all the traffic throughout the station. Plus everywhere else is dirty to show really how opressed the people are. It really all makes sense. Have you ever been to a fancy hotel with shiney floors. Cloud City is just like that everywhere except were the mining goes on.

 Good point.

Damn those new effects are gonna be amazing. Lemme get this straight, are you actually gonna reshoot the whole asteroid canyon scene? With new Tie Fighters and canyon also?

Adywan as long as you keep the tie fighter's movements. I am talking the one that clips its wing and spins and goes wha da da da da da BOOOOOOM. I just love that sound. Even when i listen to the asteroid feild song on the soundtrack i always hear in my head Wah da da da da da dadadada BOOOOM. as long as it dies like that i honestly dont care what you do coz i know i will love it.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Sorry, but its no wonder 'other' thread members class us as kiss arses when reading this thread. I prefer to think of us as fans who appreciate what Ady can bring to the OT for the better rather than, urmph, what the SE's gave us. I feel like the SE's has taken the polish off any futher alterations to the OT, and thats why many members scorn Adys efforts. Damn, i sound like a kiss arse now...

Sorry 00, not having a go at you directly.

Man, i think you have a problem. Theres no detox in place to deal with this, until you get to the final completion of the Revisited saga, that is.

Even so, thanks for the input you provide here 00.

Man, im kiss arsing the kiss arsers now ;-P

What DVD software do you guys use? I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and it doesn't remove the black bars along the bottom and the top when you capture a frame. Do you guys manually cut the black bars out of the frame or do you use a software that automatically removes them when you capture a frame?

I use PowerDVD at home, but I have to use Photoshop to cut off the black bars.  Eventually I'm going to Handbrake a lot of my movies (which cuts off the black) if only so I can take screenshots without having to crop them.

One thing I have noticed about DVD software is the audio level is very low on them.  I have to turn the volume up much higher than with other software to hear the audio comfortably. I was wondering if there is a way to raise the standard volume level on the software.
