I don't see it as a plot hole, after all she was not gonna wear this dress while running from the Stormtroopers during their escape from Cloud City :D

I'd say they did it for reasons of "convenience".

Author
Time

I don't think the Empire tortures people in party dresses.

They even made Han take his jacket off.

Author
Time

And it would have been a torture for Carrie Fischer to run with her dress on in CC corridors don't you think? :P

Author

what about:

When the troopers drop Han off in the Cloud City prinon cell, he nearly takes the 1 troopers helmet off as he is released.

Put her a silver bikini and end of torture.

When the troopers drop Han off in the Cloud City prison cell, he nearly takes the 1 troopers helmet off as he is released.

Already discussed, the helmet reacts naturally so no need to fix

And back to the MF and the cave thing, maybe i will make a mockup later to see how it looks.

Considering that there are still imperials who shoot, proper scale, try to enhance the monochrome scene, add some foreground elements and some throwing things.

All these after the 17hour commercials

MovieMistakes said: Continuity: When the stormtroopers push Leia into the cell in Cloud City, she is wearing a completely different outfit from when she was taken captive.

Unless she is wearing a "pantsuit", Leia is wearing a white "coat" overtop her red outfit.  So either she has changed back into what she was wearing when she was first on the FALCON (the HOTH outfit) or the coat is buttoned up.

Vaderios and Adywan:
In regards to the Falcon escape from Hoth, if the boxes on the ground getting blown backwards from the engine blast would be too difficult, what about just having the three wires hanging from the ceiling getting blown back fast and then swaying (as well as maybe some added storm trooper laser fire), as well as some of those electrical sparks coming from the wall light mounts?  Anything to add a little life to the mattework would be a good thing, even if its just a little bit...

Ady and the Taun-Tauns:

also, in regards to the Taun-Taun close-ups, here are some things to consider:

(1) maybe it is not a matter of MORE eye blinks so much as making the eye blinks faster (like how we and most other animals blink); maybe show Luke's Taun-Taun squinting its eyes in reaction to the wind, as well as:

(2) have the eyes look around other than just straight ahead (an occasional look back -like once or twice; not googgly-eyed like a FRITZ THE CAT wall clock).  That was what I was trying to show in the Wampa attack shot I posted 20 to 40 posts back (to have it look around a bit during the pre-Wampa attack, and have it look at the "attacker" when the Wampa strikes)

The Han's vest thing is B.S.  It was a shadow, not a jacket.  This is proven 100% in the Empire of Dreams doc, where they show Harrison Ford getting into frame for that shot, you can see as he steps in he's not wearing a vest or jacket, then when he steps into the lights that shadow is cast.

Besides, they "fixed" it for the 2004 DVDs.  Though I personally would like to see Ady restore the original shot - I don't like how they fixed it.

And I've noticed the lightsaber thing, and I feel it's just a matter of perspective.  I don't think it moved at all.

Improvising the sunrise-from-space effects when you see the Falcon leaving Bespin being chased by TIEs

I think the sunrise should look different as well. The way sunrises and sunsets look are dependent on planetary atomospheres. Being a gas giant, Bespin's sunrise should look spectacular. The way it looks now is akin to what a sunrise would look like from the moon or some other airless world.

We are a way for the cosmos to know itself.

It appears that there is a problem. Basically more than one.

Fist problem is in the establishing shot when our heroes run to the millennium falcon. If you notice the matte of the falcon the top of it is a bit messed up. in the following shot the matte is a bit different but we see a large live action matte box where the heroes supposed to be.

Also if the exit is behind us it should have been light or at least some reflections or or...

Also if the paths of the heroes and Imps are that...:

...Then the exit door should have been there(ignore the scale):

So why the imps didnt try to block the exit?

I original though that the imperials should shoot the falcon from behind but now the must be near the exit trying to block the escape.

It appears that Vader comes from an opposite path(behind the MF) so he sees it flying away.

Also like in the space slug scene we see the MF take a turn to head towards to the exit/mouth. In hoth escape not necessary but a good hint is too show that it turns(from cockpit or it boosts to the wrong direction.

Not to mention again some mattelines that not blend with the live action sets.

Also an other shot is how sky and snow are blended together.

See how the colors pop up:

Also the path of the coming X-wing is a bit fake. i think Ady can make its path flawless

One more: when Luke arrives and talk with R2 about dagobah system, R2 has some mask errors while turning his head. Notice the front camera projector or whatever it called. At some frames there is a bad cutout

Good show! I always figured they came from behind too (still trying to believe that, makes empire seem more evil...) I wonder if theres anyway ady could change that without loosing all his sanity.

Looking at those snow shots at the bottom I realized that for some reason those are the two shots where I actually kind of prefer the whole "grey sky" look.  While the sun and clear sky makes the imperial's attack seem much more impressive, I kind of like the dreary sky at the end of the battle.  It just fits in my mind.

That said, they do look nice, so I while I would prefer leaving them alone, I wouldn't complain (much) if they got the nice sky treatment.

I agree, it just feels right.

Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

ok:

when the speeder comes in the primary light source is coming from the door exit. When it comes inside the light comes from another source( see human's one) So the shadow should make the "travel" from the two sources...

Also

If these shots are taken from the same spot (same wall-orangeline-) they look different. Im not talking about the different elements that are in other position( see the tubes on top) but some basic stuff. the lights lines for example in the floor seems to change positions althow some of them are missing to serve a purpose(!)

Good show! I always figured they came from behind too (still trying to believe that, makes empire seem more evil...)

Some of the above can be remedied by cropping and light adjustments. (The part where they flee to the falcon in the base).

I think those two shots in the middle were shot at slightly different angles and distances. But so what if the rebels moved the row of lights a bit the next day? I'm sure they had their reasons!

After I saw this painting in the Illustrated Star Wars Universe, I wish it was in the movie.

Maybe Adywan could add an outside background to this scene below, kinda like above. I've wished for many years that this addition could possibly be added in some future release.

Of man, adding a background to the shot above would create more of a logistics nightmare, as seen several pages back about the layout of that building. I do love the scale of the painting above it.

Shooting without Polarizers may cause bad scenes.

 I don't know which I like better.....

? lol

Maybe we could break down this movie to the subatomic level, I bet they were a bit lazy and had some goofs, JK. Well, we have something to talk about, till adywan throws a bone at the hungy dogs we are, lol.

The person your searching for simply does not exist

Hey Ady!  I built you a new TIE Fighter model for the shots you're redoing!

Admittedly, its a little small, and its starting to stink.  Just realized I should have used a blue egg...
