The red glow in the AT-AT interiors. Thanks for doing that mock-up. that has really helped put my point across that adding red lighting to the interiors will look fake. This is really something that doesn't need doing.

NooooOOOooooo! :(      ;)

Just kidding, while I really like the idea and the mock-up, it would probably be a bit distracting inside the movie, indeed.

(But to be 100% logic, if you don't add that red light to the interior, it shoud be erased from the exterior of the AT-AT... but it would probably be too much work for such a detail anyway)

That's the plan!

I think Ady already mentioned that he'll be removing the red "windshield" from the exterior shot. :)

I think his reactions make dramatic sense. To a person who has only seen the original SW and is now seeing ESB for the first time (let's all try really hard to imagine that) it gives you the impression that Luke might actually pull this off.

Regarding Dooku's reaction to having both hands cut off vs. Luke's reaction in ESB: I would imagine that a screaming Dooku in that scene might have pushed the film into "R" rating territory.

Looks like it's time for me to make my own mark in the Star Wars fandom. Meaning my own edits of the OT. As much as I'll probably enjoy Adywan's, I'll never be truly happy with the OT until I've made my own personal changes to them. This is going to require my full creative control. That way, when I watch them, I won't be constantly thinking about how things could've been better. Sure, there's always room for improvement... but I want to clean it up to the point that there's no glaring flaws for me personally. And if others enjoy the finished product, that will be nice also. I have to get to work.

Good luck, Adywan.

I wouldn't mind seeing more of a electrical pulse reaction around the Star Destroyer that gets hit with the ion cannon

Hate to be a pain but there were a few other areas of the Bridge scenes which i noticed were different.  It may have been fixed but I thought i would let you know.

Near the end there is a two clip scene where Admiral Piett says "alert all Commands.  Make ready with the tractor beam".

followed by

So it looks as though piett is looking down from the control centre to the trench in the bridge.

With that is coming one more issue.

The crew is the same of Needa's Stardestroyer, only flipped.

The scene with the bounty hunters, again near the end of this scene, vader walks down the stairs of the bridge and turns to be informed by piett.  I know you have changed the look so the command control is to the left of the bridge.  But in the scene there is a corridor instead.

It seems Lucas like to flip scenes around and hope no one will notice.

I am assuming correctly that these scenes are flipped again.

I was going to start crying that you keep pointing out new flaws, but I pointed this out a long time ago, and I think Ady said he was doing something about it.

So that's good.

A note on flipped shots from a film editor's perspective:

99.9% of the time, when you see a flipped shot, it's to create an eyeline match when the actor was looking the wrong way, or when a shot doesn't exist where the actor is looking the direction they needed to be looking, so the frame is flipped.  This is far more common than most people realize, and flipped shots usually go by very quickly.  The theory is that it's easier to notice someone looking in the wrong direction than to notice a flipped shot (which is, usually, true).

I was wondering about the "AAAHH!" when Vader falls off the Carbonite platform, it seems to be a repeat of another he does earlier in the duel when Luke put the steam tubes in his face. In the original version there were two differenct sounding "Aaahs!" They both seem exactly the same in the SEs.

When he gets the steam in his face it's clearly a "Frohw-!..." and not a "Arrgh-ohw!", anyone can hear that, surely? ;-)

I'm partial to both noises but I could never figure out why Vader's breath screen doesn't work both ways as a respirator and as a filter, should steam in the face really effect him if his breathing is mostly a mechanical process?

But you'd have to lose the entire action if it didn't.

He still has pain receptors (even in his mechanical limbs, like Luke does in his new hand) so it makes sense that he should feel the pain of taking a laser sword hit to the shoulder (clearly Anakin/Vader has a blind spot for protecting that area that he hasn't worked on enough since Dooku took his arm off).

What's more confusing is that he gives out such a weedy yelp when he was younger (he may have gone into shock but that "Urgh" is one of the weakest ever in cinema).

Dooku being of stonger stuff (possibly hardened by having to live with such a silly name for all those years...see Johnny Cash was right) just winces when he has both hands taken off (not like Luke who deserves some sort of screaming in pain medal when he loses just one hand).

For me, when luke hits Vader on the shoulder, Vaders reaction is one of anger, not pain, i think Vader was suprised & angered by the fact that Luke actually managed to hit Vader, & i like the angry sound he makes.

About where he is blasted in the face by the pipe, i think that should be left in, it's natural Human reaction to "flinch" or Reach if anything hit's you in the face by accident, no matter what it is, & also to make  noise reaction sometimes.

& the original sound he makes when he falles of the edge i don't like, i much prefer the new one, i just do.

One last thing Ady, why are you using Boba's original voice, as much as i like it, he is a clone & should have the same voice as his Dad (himself), & the 2004 "Alert my star destroyer to prepare for my arrival" is much beter than "Bring my shuttle", granted he sounds more p****d off, but i prefere it personally, & i don't see the need to remove the Imperial shuttle docking with the SSD, it looks cool, & isn't out of place, why did you decide to do this?

Great work truly great work, i enjoyed ANH:R & Sketch thank you very much, unbelievable tht you would donate to this project!

For the voicework, it comes down to the actors.  Morrison literally did his over the phone, and there is no way that Vader's line came from "a deleted scene from A New Hope".  As for the shuttle, its pacing.  We assume that Vader makes it back to the ship and focus on the escape in 1980.  Now we take random breaks from the action to see that, yes, Vader does make it to his ship, and gets off to talk to the same people that great him at the start of the next movie.

I think they are welcome reversions.

I like the Shuttle shot landed on Bespin.

Still it can be a good base for Boba's arival.

The matte is changing and is not the same as the falcon's escape.

just an idea.

On topic of the Carbon Chamber scene, when Vader gets a face full...

What about adding some subtle movement to the steam from Vader's mask? As his mask functions as an intake and exhaust. We could see it either suck into his mask or exhale it out. Nothing major, but just noticable if you are looking for it.

it is something we saw in the ROTS when he finally puts on the mask for the first time, which was a cool effect that gave it more life.

It was far too quick to bother with that.

Dooku was shocked that a Jedi would do something so cruel.  He didn't have time to scream in pain because his mind was reeling from the reality of the fact of what just happened.  And then his mind ended up on the floor.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Maybe they'll be nice and hold it for you for a day or two if you ask them?  Hell, they might've even heard of you.  I'm sure if they were aware of that and what you're using this camera for, they'd bend over backwards so you could get it.
