yeh  it would be illegal because i would be using copyrighted elements combined with my new elements to show the finished clips. I don't do these edits for any form of reward so i would never sell any DVD's. I'll be posting the behind the scenes videos online like a sort of video blog and they'll probably be on the DVD-9 too (or maybe a full making of DVD after the saga is finished)

It would be great if you could do a commentary track to. And an isolated score as with ANH.

I also wanted to bring to your attention that Revisited in it's entirety was put up by someone on youtube, but in low quality and with a stretched aspect ratio. I could put it up on youtube in high quality with the proper aspect ratio with a "fixes and changes" notation track if you want. Otherwise you might want to ask the person to take it down.

I have a Canon HV30 (1080p), it even has a 24p mode. What do you need shot?

So do I.  It's a really great camera.  I'm not sure how it would integrate with the film footage though...

720p, newly filmed footage, physical models, and a possible documentary?

This is the best day since ANHR was released.

Hi Ady, wonderful news on ESB:R being 720p :) Have you thought about releasing ANH:R as a 480p AVCHD x264? Compressing the raw file of ANH:R down to a DVD5 sized x264 instead of DVD9 MPEG2 would save some of the MPEG2 compression artefacts, as well as the colours coming out better too. I also like having films as x264s so I can play them on my PC without having to mess around with DVD menus and having it at 24fps gets rid of all the 25fps PAL/30fps NTSC problems too.

Just a suggestion, keep up the wonderful work, ESB:R is looking incredible so far.

I don't think you should add retractable type teeth to the space slug. doesn't make sense and it isn't needed

How about  putting a layer of fog in the monster (Maybe even add a little bit more fog as they are walking around in the Space Slug) as they are flying out and it clears just a second before the teeth are shown! (As Han is saying this is no cave!)

Yup, done deal :) I figure, its prob what  I would have spent on Lucas merchandise since 2004 when  I officially gave up, at least now it's getting put to good use :)

Yeah, thanks a lot sketchrob! I'm sure Ady will be very happy tomorrow :) and Ady, I have to put a word in for the HV30. It really is a great little camera. Here's a vid I shot with it (it's in Hd on youtube, but of course that's not full quality) This was shot in 24p cinema mode but I did color work on it afterwards (in case any colors seem a little off to you) Also sorry if this seems like shameless self promotion, I really did want to show off the cam, not my vid lol.

Great work on the donation! I've been donating little bits of cash to help Adywan since the first project, but that is just awesome! Great to hear from you Ady! Glad you are OK! The stuff you are working on is truly amazing, can't wait.

It's funny when guys that haven't been around this forum very long try to explain that Adywan is working and he's too busy to post. Then  imply that those who have noticed Adywan's unusual abscence and are a bit concerned are some how titty babies or something. I for one have only been around for a little over a year, and don't post 50 times a day about every single issue with this edit to get my post count high, but when Ady goes a week or so without posting, it is very unusual, and I and others who have been around much longer than me, get a little concerned. How would we know if something happened to this great brother that is hooking us up with such amazing edits of our favorite movies? Without Ady, we have the 2004 DVD's that are a lame excuse from LUCASFILM. And we have no new (or improved I should say) Star Wars movie to look forward to.

So, those of you who have Adywan, and his daily schedule all figured out after 6 months or so in this forum, great. But some of us have been around a little longer and we know he's busy, we just might notice a longer than normal abscence, and think oh crap, the dream is over. lol

I think I cried last April Fools when Ady pulled that horrible prank about quiting the revisited projects! Sad, sad day...

Great to hear from you Ady. I just checked out the new slug clip. Everything looks great, except I noticed one thing. In the original film the foreground asteroids all have a natural spin on their axis but in the newly incorporated field the asteroids spin end over end. I'm hoping you'll take the time to recomposite the original asteroids as the new ones feel distinctly less real and more artificial. Perhaps if that would be too time consuming you could film new replacements.

well some good news and some bad news guys. Thanks to a couple of members i was able to reach the original target and went into town today to test drive the cameras. thats the good news. Now the bad. i was able to test all the Hd camcorders in my price range in the shop.  i was able to test the ones i have enough money for:

HITACHI DZ-BD70E
TOSHIBA GSC-K80E
TOSHIBA GSC-K40HE
& the PANASONIC HDC-SD9EB-S which was also just above my budget

the tests were not good. i could easily see why these were so cheap. in low light conditions they didn't cope well at all. the video noise evident when taken in a brightly lit shop was almost unusable. they all seemed to suffer with the same problems too which was focusing. any sudden zoom and they all cracked up and took ages to focus. Now i became depressed. Is this how all low end camcorders will perform. Then there was one more camera i wanted to test which was the CANON HG20. unfortunately this was just under £600 but i wanted to test out a canon. OMG this camera is amazing. it has all the features that would make this possible. in low light it was superb with minimal video noise in dark areas. the cine mode looked great. add some grain and it could pass easily and match the original footage without problems. there was also another camcorder which was £50 cheaper and that was the SONY HDR-SR10, which was originally £750 but on special offer. this camera, although the quality was pretty good suffered with quite a few problems most noticeably that it desaturated reds and turned them pink. not good. the colouring was terrible.

i know i got excited when i saw that i had reached the target but became quickly depressed when seeing the cameras that online reviews said were great. they weren't. but the HG20 is.

i'm going to see if i can somehow find the extra money needed but in the mean time i need to keep the donations open. the canon camera will enable me to do so much more. It is going to be perfect to film model elements for the whole rest of the saga including the PT which any footage will fit seemlessly. i hope everyone isn't mad at me for doing this but this really has to be done right and i just couldn't with the low end cameras especially when trying to film dark areas like the inside of the slugs mouth and fast moving ships.i guess i'm just too much of a perfectionist. lol

Too bad the camera is so expensive, but if it's that good, I think it's worth it. I wish I had more money, or I'd donate for sure. Canons have always done me well, and I wish you good luck in reaching the new price goal.

Hello Ady. One Idea - there ARE some filmfreaks around; maybe someone could land you a good expensive cam for a certain ammount of time... someone who doesn't need it for a few months that is. I'm sure he could trust you not to break it :-))))) ... but christmas is on the way anyway

Greets, s.

wise you must be.

You could also save some budget by farming out the model work.  I know a few people in the UK who would be willing to build stuff for you or may even have something already made.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.
