Thanks Tobar, it looks more like just a mouth in a pit (a bit like the OUT Sarlacc only really big).
Interesting, But there is no indication of worm. I like the aproach.
Monroville, I will do some later :)

Thanks, Tobar! :) Good stuff.

Once again another beautiful job, it makes me wonder why those things weren't built into the bigger capital ships if they could case that much disruption.
If Ackbar had one of those fitted to his ship he could have cleared a path through during the battle of Endor.
Actually Ion Cannons are placed here and there in capital ships. Even Y-Wings have them. You can hear the sound of them many times in ROTJ. Considering that the ships must balance Shields-Speed-Power, the stunt effect of ion cannons are considerably less powerfull that Hoth's one.

a w e s o m e!!!!!
its like a giant R2D2 from ANH

Perhaps I should copy this over to the ESB/ROTJ wishlist thread but it would be nice to see a milder version of this effect during the Endor battle.

THERE we go! Thanks for the pics, Vaderios!
BTW, that would help explain how the battle at Endor is more of a pitched battle when the Rebels should have been overwhelmed. It would be really cool seeing a line of rebel ships firing ion cannons simultaneously and knocking out a whole group of SDs.

I've moved the Endor side of the conversation over to ESB/ROTJ Wishlist thread.

Wow! I took that picture (http://www.flickr.com/photos/laapmx/2378370309/). I'm glad you can use it to illustrate your comments. I've been visiting this forum for a while now and I think Adywan is amazing (I've watched ANH:R, of course).
Greetings, and thank you all. :-)

I tried adding my stalactite/stalagmite desecrations to your photo too, but sadly (or not depending on your point of view) I'm utter rubbish.
Photo's like yours are really useful when trying to illustrate points on here so it's great that you put them out there for everyone.
No idea if someone bring this to this topic:
Some alterations/additions to Boba's cockpit.
-Angel
Edit: Once again i messed up the damn layers :S
The second row supposed to not have the additions in the first pic. (damn) sry
they look awesome! are the bits from AOTC?
Yes. Its easier and it keeps some continuity.

while we are topic. The Ion Cannon blasts from the planets view, (shot seeing the rebel ships leaving the planet) come from two different origins. We see one set of blasts, then a second. The second batch shifted over to the right a bit from where the first batch came from.
Also, in the shot of the Ion Blast headed towards the Star Destroyer (seen bellow), the laser doesn't appear to be angled correctly. Currently its trajectory looks like its going to miss the Star Destroyer.
vaderios, those are some excellent mock-ups once again. I think your version of the Stardestroyer being struck by the 'electrically'-charged laserbolt looks brilliant. I hope Adywan ends up doing something similar along these lines. Your Slave 1 cockpit displays look great too, and Adywan has listed this as something he plans to do something with in some way, also.
vaderios said:teharri said:I think I have mentioned it before , but I would love to see an update to the ION cannon blast in the hoth battle. I would like to see the laser beam look taken out and replaced with a more electrical bursts with a few added elctricity volts comming from the star destroyer that takes the hit. Replace each laser with a laser that has a sold white/bluish core with electricity streaming from it.
ImpFighter: In the last pic I see a tiling/matte problem on the planet's surface. Its me or IT is wrong?
-Angel
Nice! Exactly what I was picturing. I think this is the best and fastest mock up I have seen. Cannot wait to see what Ady thinks of this. As much as I would love to see this in ESB:R I am not going to push for it out of respect for Ady's selfless work.
vaderios you have a real flair for this sort of work, you should move up to animating these ideas.
Adywan is self taught and I'm sure he could point you in the right direction.
Im thinking Ady and vaderios would make an awesome tag team on this.
On a personel level, Pete, ive cought a very nasty virus on my desktop, i'll get those things to you when i can mate. Sorry.
Thx you all :D
Lazy eyes?

That looks so much better AND helps explain why he talks so weird.
once again great job Vaderios!
ROTFALOL!
Great imagination and execution mate.
HA!
The person your searching for simply does not exist
what program are you using vaderois. I would like to give some other ideas some tries.
