Thanks for the awesome update, Adywan! Man, that really lifted my (low) spirits.

So this is how the "Official Saga" dies - with thunderous applause.

:D

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

As much as I love Adywan's versions, I know I still enjoy watching the OUT (even if Lucas doesn't want me to!)...and I would certainly hope everyone here could say that. ;)

Sadly, the OUT isn't a part of the "Official Saga", so the "Official Saga" can still die. :-D

As far as the holiday special and ewok movies, those were never a part of the Star Wars Saga, Ep1-6. All of the stuff George is telling us now is purposely filling in the gaps that the movies didn't have time to tell, but they are part of the Ep.1-6 story and timeline.

So, it's completely understandable Adywan if you don't care to influence your edits with these new stories, but don't miss them yourself as a Star Wars fan.

There have been some great episodes of The Clone Wars, and The Force Unleashed has some great insight as to how the Rebel Alliance was formed, Vader's secret apprentice/Jedi hero, etc, etc, according to the story Lucas wanted to tell. And I for one have always wanted to know more of the story between Ep3 and 4,  we've been given some of that with The Force Unleashed, but will be getting more with George's live action series in production right now.

By the way, Adywan, you have some great ideas with your versions of the PT......as much as I appreciate George and the story he gave us so many years ago and the PT lately, I sometimes wish you would have been there with him while he was creating the prequels.......I mean keeping Vader a surprise, and Leia....that would have been very, very cool.....

And to all of you George and PT/New stuff haters.....just relax....it's ok.....I respect your views.....peace....

Very interesting ideas on all fronts. And even though I'm part of multiple internet communities where this is an issue, it still amuses me to see how everyone always works to make peace with the hardcore purists. Not a bad thing by any means, just entertaining. :D

I know this has been beaten to death, but wouldn't it be easier just to remove the horns from the later "inside the cave" shot
and have the wampa keep the 1st image appearance?  Those horns just don't work!

Removing the horns from the later Wampa is not something i want to do. The wampa has always had horns and to me it should do. The horns in the clip you posted screenshots from was in HD and therefore hard to use an SD image to look any good at that res. It was also only a WIP. I might even build a new Wampa head for those shots anyway. It might be easier. lol

PLEASE don't do a new head!  If the first shot has to have horns, that's perfectly okay, just please keep that first shot.

How is everyone working to make peace with hardcore purists here?

Ok, probably not the best wording. :P I meant those who are very serious about doing the OT justice. *blinks* Yeah, my reasoning isn't doing so well today. I hate finals. They destroy my brain.

Ontopic: Model making would certainly help improve the quality of the edits, Ady. I hope you can maintain the resources to support such an operation. I have no doubt you have the dedication, as we've seen.

Yeah I think I  know what you mean siliconmaster.....a lot of people hate anything new.......and that's OK! (Apology inserted, for the OT purists) I for one just really enjoy whatever story George wants to share with regards to the time period between Ep1-6. If it was his story, I would enjoy the story before and beyond this time period, but he continually says that is not his story.

With all of Adywan's new model talk, etc., things will surely look great, but man it saddens me a bit, this means millions more months until this movie is done.......oh well, better done right, than a hurry job I guess....

No, i just mean that the EU doesn't exist purely for the Revisited edits.  I've always been interested in all things outside of the movies and i'm quite enjoying the clone wars tv series (apart from the bloody jar-jar episode) even though i hated the movie and will never watch that ever again

Well the shot would be recreated as close to the original as possible if i did do a new head. It would just be a way to make the wampa look more uniform and would look much better than adding horns digitally

Cant beat models over digital work.

But, jees Ady, Adywan Productions is becoming big time. All you need is a studio now.

Anyone else gonna chip in?

Really? I thought the movie was the basically the first episode[s] of the series. I guess not. Maybe I should look into this series if you like it... I haven't watched a second of it yet.

I know I mentioned this before, but since you opened up the possibility to models and puppets, you should check out http://www.therpf.com/

There are tons of talented model and puppet makers that have already built studio scale ships, and life size puppets. I am sure if you put out an interest you can get tons of people who would loan you the things you need/want just to be apart of your Revisted edits, instead of building them yourself.

I believe Tom has already built a wampa head

Sorry I don't think I could help with models or puppets — my experience is largely confined to LEGO. But the news is good to hear. You're taking this far more seriously than is healthy. :D

But *puts hand up for any voice or live acting if and when you need it for the PT*.

Wow, that sight seven posted is pretty cool. I'd love to do that kind of stuff.

Yeah, there is a "snow creature" head about half way down this page, http://www.tomspinadesigns.com/Sculpture.html

It is right next to a few other Star Wars characters, they don't call it a wampa, obviously they seem to stick to generic names, but it is obviously a wampa, but I think even Ady's wampa with the CG horns looks considerably better than this one. This guy just doesn't quite look right.

Scroll down to the very bottom of the page, and there is a mounted Tauntaun head, LOL, how awesome would it be to have that hanging on the wall in your home! Be quite a conversation piece. If I were a multi millionaire, I'd be commissioning guys like this to build me all sorts of crazy stuff.

So does the fact were all sitting here debating exactly how it all should have/"did" happen just make us a bunch of Star Wars Jehovah's Witnesses?

Ady, I can't remember if you have given a definitive answer on the Vader helmet wobble. I must say that I've never really noticed it before. (I'm not that great at noticing such things) I kinda think it probably shouldn't wobble, seeing as it's supposed to be tightly secured to the rest of the helmet.

Maybe you could say that. Although we recognise that every version is just as valid as ours, that is there are as many "canons" as there are viewers — we just think ours is *better* :p.

How about this:

When we see the Bounty hunter on the bridge, perhaps they can be articulated abit? slight augments to their heads/arms and legs ?

They could look so much better if they reacted more to Vader and what was happening around them, like being more alive and alert.
