Adywan, watching the credits for ANHR recently, I'm rather curious. Because, if memory serves correctly, only ESB and ROTJ had credits where the star field remained visible when the credits started scrolling up.

Are you planning on maintaining the star field from beginning to end of the credits of all 'Revisited' SW films, a la ESB and ROTJ's credits? That's my question.

That is going to be an impossibility. I'm taking at least 6 months off, i need it, and with all the planning, that's going to take it up to near Christmas before i even start the first stage in the video editing. In the revised trailer it now says "in production" because 2009 was a bit optimistic and is probably going top be more like 2010.

yea i am. also the colouring and timing of the opening crawl will be the same in all 6 movies.

I'm sure glad that ESB is acceptable the way it is now.......2010 is a long wait......although I completely understand. Now ROTJ on the other hand needs a lot of work....so 2012-2013, that's going to be hard to wait for!! Peace!

It was already fixed with the 2004 DVD if you are talking about his shoulders appearing dark which made it look like he was wearing a jacket.

sorry....your right Sevb32. I have just recently watched the GOUT and I have always just remebered that part. I guess I never watched the 2004 DVD that much to get used to that fix.

Just watched the part from the carbon freeze scene through "i am your father", and here's what needs attention:

1. When the carbon freeze first engages, is there a way to see Hans hands come up in front of him (implying the freeze broke the binders and his natural reaction was to raise his arms in front of him)?

2. When Boba Fett fires at Luke, his first shot misses but his second hits the edge of the wall. When we see his third(?) shot hit the wall, the edge where the second shot hit looks untouched.

3. During the duel, after Vader falls below and "disappears", Luke jumps down. The sound of him landing implies it was a ways down, but we see him stand up, revealing that his hop was only a short distance down. I think Uncanny Antman was referring to this when, on 17-Feb-2008, he wrote "1:45:18 - Erase Luke’s head popping up at the last moment."

4. Just before Luke flies out the window, his saber is ignited. When he flies out the window, there is no saber in his hand. If you add the hilt to his hand while he's heading out the window, there may be time just prior to add the sound effect of de-ignition (is that a word?).

5. If there is any way to prevent Vader's helmet from blowing around in the wind while he is telling Luke of his grandiose plans, please do it. It always drove me nuts that it looks as though that thing might come off at any moment!

6. As the good guys are running through Bespin enroute to the Falcon, there are some inconsistencies in the lighting as a result of the added CGI exteriors.

Adywan, I realize you're in wind-down mode after SW:ANH:R, but would it be possible to update the first post to list suggestions that you are aware of, and perhaps annotate them? You could mark each one Y, N, or M (yes, will be changing; no, won't be changing; maybe will change, not yet sure). This way we could be aware of all the things that have been thrown out there, even if you're not going to make a certain change.

They took his wrist binders off before he was lowered. Why would we need everything spelled out with Han putting his hands up like that? He did that when he was further down in the chamber, so why is it necessary to see it? And I have always loved that Vader's helmet blows slightly in the wind, it shows just how windy it was there and kind of reminds us that he is just a man in a mask and the man he once was is still in there.

Why should anything be changed? Because Adywan can, and because a lot of it would be fun just to see it realized on the screen. Believe me, I don't need anything "spelled out" (Ugnaughts removing binders notwithstanding ). Since long before the SE and teh interwebs my brother-in-law and I have been joking about how we can more or less explain away all of the errors in SW. So I don't see this change as a "spelling out" of anything. It would simply be fun to see. How many of the changes in SW:ANH Revisited were "necessary"? Not many by my count, but I still enjoyed the heck out of it.
And I have always loved that Vader's helmet blows slightly in the wind, it...kind of reminds us that he is just a man in a mask and the man he once was is still in there.

That's what the scene in his meditation chamber is for. Besides, the flimsy looking helmet doesn't jibe with the sound effect of his helmet being secured to his scarred head. SHHHUUUMP! That certainly sounds like a secure fit to me.

Adywan, I am pleased that you are planning to alter the 'special edition' Wampa 'lair' sequence somewhat. As most people here will know, the Wampa design is unfortunately a bit of a mish-mash as it stands, because there is differing looks to the creature throughout it's brief appearances.

In it's very first appearance near the start of the movie, it has a 'yellowish nose and eye areas', with inset black eyes, along with just a hint of it's horns showing, which are largely covered in fur, and with a hint of one ear tip set to the side of it's head. But in the 'lair' sequence of the 'special edition', both the new 'man in a suit' face and the original 'man in a suit' face have NO 'yellowish nose and eye areas', but have faces that are completely 'furry'. Their horns are fully on show now, with the NEW 'suit' design having dark, gnarly horns, set closely agiainst it's fur, while the ORIGINAL 'rushing toward us', Wampa 'suit' design has a lighter, smoother, more semi-circular horn, with a gap between it and the fur. On top of this, the original 'suit' has a more pointed head, and very prominent, pointed ears on the top of it's head, compared to the new 'suit'...

My own favourite Wampa design is the the one with the 'yellowish nose and eye areas' on it's first appearance, although I would like to see the more noticeable horns added to it. I would love an enhancement of the later 'suit' faces to resemble this appearance, but accept that you may prefer to actually make this first appearance more 'furry' to tie-in with the later shots!...or may even just leave the two differing 'looks' alone and separate as they stand! I note that someone previously suggested that this 'lair' Wampa could be a DIFFERENT Wampa to the one seen at the movie's start, and that there might be two of them in the 'lair'... I don't know if I really like that idea, but it could work okay I suppose if there was a hint of another one, RATHER than just a 'second roar'.

Anyway, here's my own suggestions for the actual re-edit of the 'lair' sequence, which would restore it to something of it's original 'pacing' -
I'd get rid of the first THREE shots of the over-revealing, over-lingering, NEW 'suit' altogether, and re-instate the ORIGINAL brief, mainly hidden 'walking' shot with 'growl', while keeping the improved shot of Luke freeing himself and falling to the ground, which now features the close-up of the Wampa's paw and side. After the shot of the cut arm falling to the ground, I'd then keep the shot of the NEW 'armless' Wampa roaring in pain as the final reveal of the beast...

However, if as someone previously suggested, that you just get rid of the first TWO shots of the NEW 'suit', but use the THIRD shot of the Wampa 'standing up', in place of the original 'walking' shot, then I dearly hope you will SHORTEN it a little, cutting it short just after the 'little bit of meat' falls, BEFORE it starts to walk towards us, as I think it lasted far too long. Finally, if you DO use one of the first two NEW 'man in a suit' shots at the start of your 'lair' sequence, then I hope you will just use the SECOND one, the 'close-up' one of it eating, and NOT the first 'hunchbacked', lingering one... This would of course explain the 'blood' on the fur of the final 'armless' reveal, or you might even choose to remove the 'blood' on the final 'armless' shot if you choose to use the ORIGINAL 'walking' shot. Alternatively, you may choose to ADD 'blood' to the fur of the dismembered right paw on the ground, as well as to the 'mouth/chin' area of the ORIGINAL 'rushing towards us' Wampa 'suit' to better match everything else...

To clarify that last bit - I meant add a little reddish fur around the claws of the cut off arm, not the actual 'cut' area, to reflect the fact that it had been handling bloodied meat.

I'm really not too sure what i will be doing with the Wampa cave scene. I did prefer the mystery in the original version where you didn't see the whole Wampa so i could be bringing the mystery back to this creature in my version.

In the carbon freezing scene Han did still have the upper arm shackles on when he was frozen. I guess they forgot this when they filmed ROTJ. i have heard explanations that they were also made of carbonite and that they melted when he was defrosted. I'm going to keep them on in ESB and you will see them melt away in ROTJ.

The hologram throbbing is only a test using standard settings of the plug-in used. I don't want to show the final Emperor until its released.

Vader's helmet moving in the wind bothered me too for a while until i sat down and thought about it. I think it would move that way given the strength of the wind. I may tone it down a little but at present i may not touch it at all.

Well what I like about the hologram throbbing is that helps conceal the hood was a still image. It was a still image right? You don't want it to be perfectly still as it is very difficult for a person to keep their head perfectly still.

Since adywan is soon taking a very well deserved break after all the amazing work he's done, perhaps this isn't the best time to suggest changes, but I caught one watching ESB the other day and couldn't help myself. It's kinda anal, but a lot of other changes have been too, so please bare with me.

In the first scene with The Empire, Vader walks up to Piett and Ozzel. As he walks by, the camera zooms down on the pits below, where crew men look up at Vader in fear as he passes them.

One of them is an officer, the problem is that he is wearing the wrong rank insignia. 3 red squares, with 3 blue squares under and only one rank cylinder: that is the badge of a navy captain. The problem is that Piett was the captain of the Executor at this time.

Apparantly, decipher names a him a Lt. Commander, which presents a solution: Just give him two additional cylinders (those pen shaped things in their pockets), one at the right and one at the left. He's only on screen for like a couple of seconds, so hopefully it won't be too hard to do.

What about the fact that he's wearing a different shirt in RotJ? That would be a lot of shots to fix though, unless you make him change his shirt to the RotJ one just before the carbon freeze...

I just downloaded Adywan's Ep.4, and saw the trailer for this on there. I'm only sorry that it won't come out soon, but Adywan deserves a break after what he did for Ep. 4. Good luck on this and I'm looking forward to it!.

Thank You for the awsome job you did with Episode IV: A New Hope.

I am very proud of the work you did on that movie. Anyway, here is what I've got for you.

Things to revert back:
- Vader's line "Bring my shuttle!"
- Luke's line "You're lucky you don't taste very good"
- Boba's Original Voice

Things to remove or fix:
- Wampa Scene
- Shuttle Scene
- Vader's line "How is that possible?"
- Change The TIE Fighters from Blue > Gray

Things to add else where:
- Original Unused Movie Score (especially to early Hoth scenes and when Luke encounters Yoda)
- Imperial Fleet Scene (Add Coruscant planet surface below fleet)
- New Asteroid CG's

- More Walkers (AT-ATs, AT-STs, & AT-PTs)
- More Snowspeeders vs Walkers + TIE Fighters & Bombers

Someone complained about Han's shirt being different after being unfrozen, I have studied clips and stills over and over again and I cannot see a difference, neck area and all. This is a false goof that has went on for years, show me the real evidence.

Honestly, I've never seen it myself either. But I've never looked. In looking for evidence online yesterday, I found one site that said that his shirt is the same unfrozen pre- and post-, but the frozen statue is his shirt from ANH.

I'll look sometime, but I'm sure someone else can get to their DVD's before I get off work and find time to do that.

Now I am really confused by what you said, lol. I don't think either the ESB or the early ROTJ shirt looks like the ANH one. Can someone get some good quality stills?
