For every question like this, there is only one answer: if its a choice between making the OT match the PT or the PT match the OT, the Prequels will be modified to match the Originals, as it should be.

... and should have been (from the start, GL) ;)

I would say that lightsabers seem to be the exception to this rule, as they seem to combine the best of both from what I've seen.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Indeed, but the Prequel sabers will be given the flicker the originals have.

Is there an official scheme Ady is using for holograms in the revisited saga, will PT holgrams be altered to match the OT or vice versa?

I've got to say that I quite prefer the PT holograms but what do the rest of you folks think?

One of the better "First Posts" I've read, and an issue that I myself had never even thought of. Personally I quite like them when they have a little bit of color in them.....makes them look more degraded, and adds to the idea of a used and broken down universe, as opposed to them just being blue, which kinda feels too perfect and "clean".

Funny how the most impatient people are the ones who are new to the site. I've spent a good chunk of my life on this site waiting for this, and I have no problem waiting longer.

I believe art should never be rushed.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

For some reason I thought ESB:R wasn't coming out until Christmas 2012, and I was fine with that. But I guess the tentative release is May, which makes me very happy! But, however long it takes is how long it takes!

Very good news.  Gosh, I never even caught most of these inconsistencies.

Double O, Thanks for telling/reminding us there is another way Ady can get his progress posted (since the FB debacle). Loving it.

I'm leaving the FB stuff to the other guys, trying to get the G+ Page going. However, can't really share video on G+ since its just YouTube. ;-)

Who knows, maybe we'll have a Google Hangout sometime?

While I think it's good when continuity errors are fixed I really don't think this shirt thing worths buidling a whole new life size Han in carbonite (!) Unless Adywan plans to use it for some other totaly new shots.

I think its just the top section. It'll also be cool for someone to display when he's done!

Hey, for those who are "in the know" so to speak, I'm just curious about something.  In the ESB revisit, how many effect shots have been re-done/enhanced with new models, new people, etc?  Basically, how much "new" footage has been needed to correct the mistakes of old and/or to enhance existing scenes?

Personally, I have always been interested in videography but, just don't have much time/money to pursue it anymore.

Of all the changes/fixes Ady wants to make, Han's shirt is the most insane.

And yet he'll pull it off.

Han Solo says :

Doesn't sound so hard.

Ford is a cool guy. He'll give you the shirt right off his back.

Yeah I said it.

I see what you did there.

Ady has started making the new Han in Carbonite cast to fix the shirt-change continuity error.

This sort of thing is what I really like about these Revisited edits: the amazing dedication and attention to detail.

Recently I sat down with my seven year old son and introduced him to Star Wars.  ANH seemed the right place to start and as for which version, well there was no contest.

My next dilemma is whether to wait for this edit to be completed before showing him ESB.

They told me they’d fixed it!

I faced a similar dilemma a few months back. My advice is this: since Ady is still geared toward releasing ESB:R this May, which is only a couple of months away, I'd just wait until May. The Star Wars films have always been May movies, anyway =P

Can you wait 4-5 years to show him Return of the Jedi? ;-)

I don't ever want to rush the chap but a lot of the work in terms of useable assets etc for ROTJ:R are already in Ady's hands.

The Blu-Rays are out so no waiting around to see if there are useable deleted scenes.

Items like the carbonite block will be made by the time ESB:R will be finished and wont need to be rebuilt.

The camera and many of the models used on this project can be used for the next one.

Guys like Ming have already been found, tested and are pretty much certain to be up for some more fun.

It will take time (Ady is a perfectionist) but some of the delays this time may make the next project come faster than if they hadn't happened.

In building this project I'm sure he has developed previously learned skills and picked up some new techniques which will make what he wants to do easier.

Unexpected delays like the sad an unpredictable family upsets in Ady's recent past you can't plan around.

But I'm sure that all the ideas for ROTJ he already had and some of the input of other people on the conceptual threads here will have have made his job easier next time.

Some of the other ROTJ edits have either proved some things possible and attractive to him or helped him decide which ideas are unworkable or undesirable to him too.

Ady thought that this would be the relatively easy film to do and ROTJ would be the big challenge but this is a well loved film already so in someways it's the easiest to screw up.

Jedi and the PT offer Ady a bit more creative freedom.

You make a good point. ESB took a long time due to the many setbacks, if everything goes smoothly RotJR shouldn't take as long. But Adywan deserves a break, so a year off or so isn't too unrealistic.

In the case of ROTJ I guess AdY has a rough idea of what he wants to change structurally. But my guess is along the way some plans may change if he sees that ideas aren't working as well as he liked.

In any case the wait will be however long it will be and thankfully everyone here is more than happy to wait.

Oh. Wow.  ONLY THREE MONTHS AWAY!!!  I would literally take the day off from work to download and watch this.  I'm THAT excited.

Of all the movies to be released this summer, I'm the most excited for ESB:R.

Funny, that.
