Will the Imperial March be retained for the HD version? It’s one of my favorite changes of ANH:R.

I don’t know what other music you could even use for the Death Star reveal. Besides, isn’t the Imperial March used in Rogue One anyway?

I know that R1 used a new version of the original Death Star reveal cue, I could use more of that in ANHR.

I’d be all for that.

Ady!

I know adding or editing any more scenes in A NEW HOPE is out of your wheel house since you’re focused on RETURN OF THE JEDI… but… I had a great idea, well, possibly a great idea. . I thought it would be cool to repurpose the Jabba scene between Han and Jabba in Mos Eisley Space Port. Is there a way to slightly alter the dialog and replace Jabba (either the human or CGI) with Boba Fett? That way it would give a little more background and tension between Han and Boba throughout the rest of the Trilogy. If this is even plausible to edit in? It would be cool seeing Boba being an ambassador for Jabba. Seeing Jabba trust Boba to negotiate for him and at the same time telling Han that he is lucky Jabba hasn’t set him(Boba)lose on Han. It also would be funny seeing Boba mentioning Greedo’s death, maybe saying something a long the lines, “You fried poor Greedo, good, I didn’t like him that much anyways.” or at the end of the conversation Han could say, “Boba, you’re a wonderful clone” or “Boba, your a wonderful Mandolrine”. That would be an example of Han poking at him because he is a clone and he is not really a Mando (as of now) we’ll have to see how the rest of the Mandolrine plays out. Thoughts?

I bet the answer is “No, because putting that scene in ruins the pacing and the reveal-fanfare-music when Luke & Obi see the Falcon for the first time.”

I agree. And doing a scene with Boba Fett instead of Jabba would require a budget thats already being spent on ROTJ:R.

And it wouldn’t solve the major problem of adding that scene back in: Greedo’s scene was modified to cover all of that information. There is no purpose to that scene without re-editing Greedo, which proved we didn’t need two scenes ever!

Ok here’s an interesting tidbit I found it’s from a game called Star Wars Force Commander… It was in development whilst the Special edition was in production and it has a different version of Special Edition “Ben’s Hut” Matte painting.

https://youtu.be/QZ7MIX70UXY?t=458

This video should play at the moment the painting appears.

The thing that sticks out is that it has a small rocky path leading up to the Hut which explains how the Landspeeder or if anyone should walk up there could reach the Hut. Once you look more closely you can see how they covered up the path in the release version of the Special Edition to make it a cliff but they left the Landspeeder facing the Hut as if it had ascended the path.

Futhermore after this there is a very nice animation of a star destroyer orbiting Tattooine although the starfield is totally messed up the animation is actually pretty clever and a nice motion about it. I thought to myself it could just as easily be Dantooine but anyway I digress… The real important find is how the matte painting was changed to remove the access to the hut which could be a good idea for a restoration?

The image from the game would need an AI upscale but I think it could blend after that.

As far as the Star Destroyer shot goes if it has any weight to it whatsoever It might have been an attempt to restore the Harp Gliss (missing music) before we cut to the crashed escape pod as an idea or concept that never made the cut.

Isn’t he doing a completely new Ben’s hutt matte? Could’ve swore I read that either on here or on his blog.

I understand that Revisited is its own canon, however, has the thought of reversing the change of Chewie getting a medal to not conflict with “The Rise of Skywalker” been considered?

I hope not.

No Idea? but I thought it was worth sharing these 2 things simply because it certainly feels for bens hut, like a changed concept that may have been in consideration whilst the Special Edition was in production. And the Star Destroyer is simply just nice animation albeit with a flickering starfield.

This is the music part I am talking about if it was an attempt to restore the missing music part.

Canonically he did receive a medal. That was revealed in the mainline Star Wars comic in 2015.

And then he gave it away because WOOKIEES DON’T CARE ABOUT MEDALS.

Maz handing Chewie the medal at the end of ROS doesn’t contradict with giving him a medal in ANH:R. He wasn’t being presented with his own medal in ROS. Maz was giving him Han’s medal, that Leia had been keeping. It was a memento of the friends he had lost and it was being passed down to him. It was an inheritance, not a prize.

Exactly. When I saw so many articles at the time saying this was “correcting” ANH’s mistake, I rolled my eyes every time. They were completely and densely missing the point of the gesture.

Totally new way of looking at that. I like it!

I want to talk about the 1-2min long interval dogfighting over the Death Star, is there a chance for there to be two video tracks of ANH:R (HD)? One w/out, while the other, has the extended Death Star Battle?

Will that be included in the HD version? I hope it will, I really liked that addition.

Me too. This edit is intended to be a special edition. There are multiple great edits for those who don’t favor the enhanced FX.

Why would Ady’s extended battles not be in his own edit?
I can’t make sense of what’s being asked.

They’re asking for the fan editor to fan edit their own fan edit instead of fan editing the fan edit themselves.

Has anyone tried and had any luck with AI upscaling Revisited?
Could be a perfect placeholder while we anxiously await Ady’s final version. I’d do it if I had the hardware.
