Sorry if you already answered this Adywan (or someone that knows), but will the 720p version have a PURIST version too? And is Vader going to have his lightsaber ignited from the start, and Obi-Wan ignite his in the normal time?

Vader already having his saber ignited is a reversion I would love to see as well.
I wonder if now that Rogue One put to bed any debate about the color of X-Wing exhaust (definitely pink), if you will have your edit stay consistent with what is obviously a conscious choice of the franchise. X-Wing exhaust is pink.

Ady’s already said that the engines will be pink. They already are in ESB:R.

He’s sticking with it because the blu-ray doesn’t gain anything after 720.

I have friends who didn’t, so maybe choose a different way of stating… whatever it is you’re trying to say.

I assume the answer would be no. but would you consider using this in your edit at all? I think it would be a great idea!

Glad I’m not the only person who thought of Adywan when watching this! They say the full sequence will be released next year, but even with this teaser footage, someone has already edited it into the original scene.

As rough as this currently is, the energy and pacing of this new scene is a massive improvement. Also, if the new footage was regraded to match the original scene, it would feel that much more seamless.
Regardless, even if Adywan decides to leave this out of ANH:R HD, I’m sure someone will combine the two… it’s a match made in heaven.

It’s cool, but they have a loooong way to go if they intend that to be dropped into the actual movie.

Maybe not. Most times in a Star Wars movie, these things take a turn in duels. Cool looking sets, new lighting, blasting SFX and whatever. So it might fit awkwardly well, like the entire movie is building up towards the moment.
