And let's be honest.  Lucas isn't going to please all of the fans because there are billions and billions of fans, and Lucas it too busy running his own business to get to know what each one of them wants.

Lucas is too busy to know what the fans want? That's total crap! It's not like he's constantly getting harassed by a billion fans who each want something totally different. If he would just make HD prints of the original films as available as the SE's, there would be no problem.

I mean, it's practically standard that the original be released with the new versions on DVD/BR (blade runner, alien, aliens, ect ect). Lucas is the only film maker I can think if who is suppressing the original versions.

Of course he's not getting harrased, but the man does have a life outside of Star Wars.

And unlike Blade Runner and Alien, which are products of the company's that distributed them, Star Wars is owned by Lucas and not FOX.  Therefore, Lucas does have the right to decide which editions are deemed the default editions.

No one's suggesting that George's suppression of the original Star Wars trilogy is illegal; only that it's wrong.

Lucas has, outside of Star Wars, directed, produced, or executive produced:

  1. THX 1138
  2. American Graffiti
  3. More American Graffiti
  4. Raiders of the Lost Ark
  5. Twice Upon a Time
  6. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
  7. Mishima
  8. Labyrinth
  9. Howard the Duck
  10. Captain EO
  11. Powaqqatsi
  12. Willow
  13. Tucker: A Man and His Dream
  14. The Land Before Time
  15. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
  16. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles
  17. Radioland Murders
  18. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
  19. Red Tails (currently in production)

So maybe he hasn't been doing much outside of Star Wars lately, but has made plenty of movies outside of Star Wars.

--edit--

And Frink is right, this isn't the thread for this kind of discussion, so I'll drop it.

Hey Adywan, do you think by the time you get back to remaking this you will be able to fix the red stripes seen on all the X-wings?

Also, for the AVCHD, can you please fix errors with people's mouths moving without them actually saying anything?

+1 and I think that not outside of this thread but outside of this forum, it's been here so many times and it leads nowhere. G E Predator, why don't you go here and read what this site is about and then if you still feel like coming back and repeating what you just said, why don't you also go to a mosque and start spreading the gospel there, while you're at it?

I've been going over youtube videos of Greedo shooting first and I came across these hilarious ones:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a3Z-ImKGbk&NR=1&feature=fvwp

But this one it gave me an idea Adywan. Maybe we could have Greedo shoot first a couple of times while he is talking to Han, but have him deliberately miss to threaten Han.

ANH always struck me as almost a western more than a space opera. Sure there are space battles, but the way the movie is filmed feels like a western. Even in the final attack on the death star, the way the film focuses mostly on the characters reaction instead of the space battle seemed very attune with a western.

Adywan, I like the idea of having Greedo's head on fire in the end of this shot, do you think you would be interested in that for your next Revisit?

also.....Ady doesnt make retarded changes like that....Lucas has a monopoly on that particular skill set

I was on the "Official SWR Site" and read your quote, Ady, that says “When i first planned on doing the saga i wanted to bring the saga together as a whole and not have the PT ruin many of the surprises in the OT, namely Leia being Lukes sister and Vader being Lukes father.  I want them to be able to be watched in chronological order."

I was curious whether you have considered changing Luke's name in the OT to "Luke Lars". You actually have the skill and patience to do the audio dubbing necessary, and If the fact that Padme had the twins was removed from RotS, it would be very easy to go all the way up to RotJ without a mention of the Skywalker name.

I know that "I'm Luke Lars, I'm here to rescue you." doesn't roll off the tongue as nicely, but it does keep the mystery going in a way that nothing else would.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

That would be a bold change, nightstalkerpoet. I'm not sure how others would feel about changing such an iconic line, like "I'm Luke Skywalker..." Then again, Adywan changed "There will be no escape for the princess..." Eh. I think that it's not worth the effort to do such a thing. After all, many know the classic "I am your father." line.

I know its definitely bold... I'm just saying that after watching 3 films where you hear "Anakin Skywalker", and where you even meet his Step Brother Lars... seeing an adopted nephew named "Luke Skywalker" show up in film 4 doesn't leave much to the imagination :P

Yeah; I guess so. Anyway, I always was weirded out that they didn't bother to give Luke a new name, while Leia had the last name Organa.
