Seriously though, looking forward to the edit more than ever Ady... the colour correction on that pic of the X-wing alone was enough to get me excited.

Just curious, are you editing the original credits where need be, ie: typos, omissions. etc...

They have been recreated from scratch. The typos have been sorted.

Recent lurker, first-time poster here.

I'd just like to say that you rock, Adywan! Even though I wasn't particularly disappointed by the DVDs (apart from the lightsabers, and the 'TIE boxes', and the horrid sound system, and the dull lasers), I think that this may definitely supplant the original movie on my 'Must Watch' list once I get my hands on it. I watched various parts of it a few nights back, 'cause now I'm starting to think I might not watch them again.

I've read through the preceding 114 pages, and you know what? I'm disappointed I didn't sign up sooner, so that I could get my name in the credits so I could say, "See? I'm in the credits for Star Wars!"

Still, prapsy that can be for the other episodes when you get to 'em, eh?

I was gonna ask if you worked your magic on the inconsistent Artoo panels when Threepio leaves the 'near-sighted scrap pile' in the desert. When R2 is about to venture off into the canyon. Did you fix the panels? I know you're pretty much done the visuals, but I'm just wondering, or was that beyond even your skills?

Fantastic work altogether, Sir Adywan! First time I've been genuinely excited for something Star Wars-related in a very long time! Looking forward to your next update, and to your X-Mas gift!

The anticiaption is really getting everyone going here.....I love this atmosphere. I check this thread every day. I am not much of a poster but I read this thread religiously and cannnot wait for the edit. It has been a long time coming and Ady....you deserve every bit of credit that is being sent your way. After all the trials you have gone through.....most would have quit on this but you are 'force' to be recond with. Thanks for the rejuvenation of Star Wars ofr all of us here and the others that will have the priveledge to see this edit once you are complete.

I never post. Well almost never. Only when I get excited about something. I am gonna pee myself if I don't get to see this soon. I am really waiting. I have no expertise in video editing or anything... I just wanna see it..

Can someone please upload the "Escape from Tatooine" clip ady uploaded? I was able to download several of his other clips, but that one I missed.
I also check this thread several times a day in in anticipation. I am looking as forward to this as I was the official SW DVDS back in 2004!

If anyone else could post clips that would be great. I have only been privileged to see a few. I do not want ady to post clips because that would take away from his work.

I have more free space and bandwidth on my web server than I could ever possibly use. (Thanks, 1&1!!!) If I could get my hands on all the clips that have been released to date (without going through 114 pages of this thread, hopefully) I'd be happy to host them all up through the release date.

Two quick questions ady

Did you fix the person walking away behind Han near cockpit when they escape Tatooine? I believe it was Obi-Wan but he was sitting by this time so it did not make sense.


Why did you get rid of both Rontos in the sequence where the Stormtroopers stop the landspeeder, I can understand getting rid of the one that crosses so close to the camera, but why the one there in the background at the tail end of the sequence?

Yes, sorry i forgot to reply to that one. So much going on at the moment. I am planning on trying to tweak them to sound more like the PT. they do sound a bit too tinny in ANH. And yes, your name made the credits.

i removed the second one because it just seemed to appear and had no other reason for it being there than just to show of what they could do with CG so it went.

as for the clips, i no longer have those clips on my PC and i've lost track of what i have posted so i won't be able to post them again. sorry

OK, but I would have left it, but it's a personal choice, I personally liked the Rontos, and do we still see any other than far off ones? I meanone could argue that any CG creature was put there out of whimsy. Did you get rid the Ronto the guy has on a leash just as they pull up to the Cantina?

Then what's the point of posting at all if we cannot add suggestions or at least as some questions? I guess that's why you posted, only to criticize another's (me) posting.

I've given a lot of praise already, I guess that's all were allowed to post anymore according to you. We can't ask questions or give suggestions.

To be fair mate, its a little late to be giving suggestions so late in the piece. Adywan's about ready to unleash this monster and you want to delay things for the hard on you've got for these Ronto's? Sheesh.

The point is, this Edit is in it's final stages, last I read Ady had around 30 more things to fix, what your asking or suggesting now, and has probably been asked before. If not, Adywan has a very keen eye for detail, there are numerous mistakes in the original film that you or I would miss in the blink of an eye, but Adywan with the help of too many to name, have found these errors and has corrected the mistakes.

When the Edit is finished and you have it playing, I'll bet you anything you can't list every error that has been corrected let alone finding al the errors in the original film in the first place, without some sort of list pointing out the corrected errors.

Please don't take this the wrong way, no one is getting at you personally, but if you had been here from the beginning of this thread your questions would have been answered, and you may even of had a few suggestions no one had thought of before, probably Ady will answer your questions the best he can.

You will only have to wait like all of us to see the final product, there are many surprises to come according to Adywan, just be a little patient, like every one on this forum we are all ega to see it, if it takes longer than Adywan speculates so be it, If Ady says it might take another 6 months, for one I'll support him all the way and wait.

Also what is wrong with you people asking if your names are in the credits, have a little respect will you, I'm not a big poster myself, but I don't go around asking if my name is in the credits just because I post on here, and to those asking only after a couple of posts are just taking the p***, don't presume!

Few more things:


When Luke ignites the lightsaber in Kenobi's house, I see some king of cord or something in his sleeve under the sabe hilt? I see something there, it's a quick and fleeting thing as he moves the saber around, but maybe it's a bracelet or something. I just wondered if it was a cord like you painted out of the Kenobi saber later in the movie during the duel.

You said you got rid of all the floating spy droids in Mos Eisley, again I say why? Especially the one in the alley where C3PO and R2 are hiding behind that door. I don't see how that part was slap-sticky.


"61. Put the original Dianoga back in the trash compactor"

Why, you didn't like the blinking Dianoga? It added more life to it.

Also, you said you got rid of the bucking Ronto shot with the Jawa because it was outside the cantina, but it was altered by ILM and more buildings were added to the background to disguise the fact, you could disguise it more and still paint out or alter part of the Cantina looking part and keep the shot. Or you could paint out Luke's Landspeeder zooming by it, or both. I know some here hate all slapstick, because it makes they think it's all childish, but as my wife said when I was discussing this with her, sometimes things like this happens in real life, things bump into other things in bustling city life.



Now I don't wanna be slapped for speaking my mind, it may be too late to change anything anyway, but I just felt like getting this out there. I really appreciate the long hard work gone into this edit and the clips I've seen are extremely well done and I am looking forward to it!

I don't remember Adywan writing this. Num. 61 in the list of changes on the first page of this thread does not say anything about Dianoga.

I was just checking out the 2004 DVD to see some differences and I must say that the light sabers really looked crappy. Adywan's improvements are really great here. And I hope he hasn't shown us even half the changes, because I would like to be surprised, you know that feeling like watching an almost completely new movie.

sevb, I believe adywan specifically asked for people to stop making suggestions because he wouldn't be accepting any more. Like others, I commend your enthusiasm, but I recommend that you just wait like the rest of us until the film comes out.
