STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION — Page 457

I realize that Ady is taking a bit of a break from everything due to COVID and lack of work, but he has been dark for a really long time. I was just wondering if anyone had heard from him? Are he and his family doing okay?

Didn’t he just post in Beyond the OT a day or two ago? I think he’s doing fine.

Does anyone have to link to this? Any version?

You’ve got to ask yourself one question: “Am I making Carrie Fisher’s ghost proud?”
Well, are ya, punk?

I understand I said this before but, will ANH:R (HD) have a-lot of the original aspects that we saw in ANH:R (SD)?

Yeah, most of it will be an HD recreation of the original edit. There will be some new fixes, some fixes from the original will be updated, and some unpopular changes will be removed, but most of it will be the same.

Do you think when Adywan has a chance to return, when he is financially stable, do you think he will keep the same 20th Century Fox & LucasFilm Limited Intros from ESB:R? Or, will he change it 20th Century Studios…

He can do what he wants to do, that’s fine by me.

Why does it show you answered me twice? (Still hope that, TCF still remains intact…)

I accidentally double posted, so I edited the two sentences I posted originally into two separate responses.

Just curious, is this issue where Vader’s helmet is messed up going to be fixed?

Agreed, this needs to be fixed, not only because Vader looks silly in this shot, but also because his helmet is established one film later as being hermetically sealed, so it doesn’t make sense for it to be flimsy/tilted back here.

Part of me wishes some of the deleted scenes were cleaned up and worked into the movies. I know the movie would have to be recut due to pacing, but some of the scenes were cool. Like Luke making his green saber.

I second this.

Seeing how well done your prequel edits are, have you considered doing your own OT revisited edits?

Thinking ahead to things that should change with the Battle of Yavin, I’ve got a few ideas.

  1. Yavin 4 isn’t visible in the fly-by or is half-blocked by the gas giant (like the test renders of the '97 scene)
  2. Redo the opening fly-by to include more variety with the X-Wings (i.e., instead of all looking like Wedge’s Red Two, use the elements of the relevant models).
  3. Trying to make the CGI shots blend with the models more in terms of movement and visual consistency (i.e., give Luke’s CGI X-Wing different marks to match the physical model, use movement patterns more similar to those from ESB and ROTJ)
  4. Get volunteers to add dialogue for the expanded battle sequence (if it remains).

These would require more work with the CGI guy Ady has mentioned before (or other CGI-inclined folk - many are on YouTube with their samples), but it’s doable.

Na, Ady is doing more than i could do. Han in Carbonite, Hoth hangar models, Dagobah model, etc. He’s filmed people on set for shots on Hoth or Bwing fighters. 3d printing models to spec or gear like helmets. Just to name a few. He still inspires me in many ways and would love to see him take on the prequels to see what he would do.

While this needs to be done, I never found a test render where it was half blocked in my SE research. I seem to recall something they made for one of those IMAX SFX reels maybe having the moon at a better angle.

Yeah, that’s what I was referring to, albeit incorrectly. It wasn’t half-blocked there, but it should have been.

There’s a guy in the preservation section currently working on restoring/touching up the Tosche scenes, and he claims to be almost finished. I think it’s outside of the scope of Adywan’s edit to reintegrate them, but they’d work great as a bridge in an ANH/R1 combo edit and Adywan’s edit seems it would be the perfect base for that.

at 12.23 min “This Sith lord sent by the Emperor will be our undoing”

Really wish Adywan would add this line back in. The Sith aren’t mentioned till the prequels, so itd be nice to hear of the Sith (and more of the Emperor) in ANH

Edit- Would have loved (21.30 min) Obiwan taking off dudes head in the bar scene instead of his arm. Shows a much greater threat from the Jedi, and we see sooooooo many arms and hands cut off. Also a nice mirror for when Obiwan loses his head later (Spoilers) . Not for everyone probably but i like it
