It’ll also be interesting to see the approach Ady takes with the displays in ANH:R HD, since he’s already said he’s not going to stay beholden to the Disney films but may incorporate ideas if he likes them (e.g. the Millennium Falcon bunk in The Force Awakens). Rogue One made a very conscious choice to stick the original 70s computer graphics whereas the original ANH:R gussied up most of the dated looking displays. Personally the continuity freak in me would like the displays to stay vintage now, as long as Ady is not going to touch Rogue One.

I have my own head canon now. Maybe the old display graphics shown in Rogue One was a programming error, and once the plans reached Yavin, they were fixed and became what was shown in ANH:R. There! What do you think?

I don’t know that I like the idea of adding Scarif. I think I prefer my A New Hope…sans Scarif.

It looks close enough to Scarif, doesn’t it? Why not use it when you do the HD version? I know it’s your fan edit, but please don’t remove the planet just because you can. There’s nothing wrong with maintaining a little continuity.

It’s Amazing almost like they took Ady’s suggestion it’s like a ready made sequel sort of in a few respects…I stuck ANH Revisited on this morning after watching Rogue One only the beginning mind…

While I won’t be getting to see Rogue One till this coming Thursday, I did like the shot in one of the later TV Spots of the Ties exiting the Death Star. How cool would that look adding something similar into the Battle of Yavin. Still though, the Tie reveal remains one of the finest additions you’ve ever done so far, Ady. 😃

For all the changes George Lucas made to the OT to match the PT, why didn’t he ever change the Death Star plan graphics like Adywan did? How did that one get overlooked?

Like I said, that doesn’t mean he can’t change it back for the eventual HD version. That is still quite a serendipity, isn’t it?

So I think it could be good if (for the HD version) you did something to the effect of showing the surface being destroyed in the Alderaan destruction scene, sort of like you did in that scene with Jar Jar. Of course, dispense with the Jar Jar shot, and if no good Bail reaction shot can be orchestrated, him too. But given how there were several surface destruction shots in RO, I think having that in ANH:R would be cool.

Or adywan could give a fan editor the assets to his version of the death star plans so they could do it instead.

One thing I also loved was how awesome the Death Star was in orbit over Scarif too. And I’d love to see surface destruction on Alderaan too but given that the Death Star was fully operational by the time of ANH… 😉

And I also suppose that some of the Blue Rebel insignias can be retained now after learning of Blue Squadron in Rogue One. Maybe some of the Rebel fighters can wear the Blue Squadron helmets in remembrance of their efforts, giving their lives in battle on Scarif.

Adywan, I recently watched your Purist edition of ANH and… wow, completely blown away! You did a fantastic job! To quote Palpatine, “we will watch your career with great interest”. Thank you for your efforts!

Adywan, I just saw Rogue One for a second time, and I noticed that the X-Wing engines are pink, while ANH Revisited has them red. Also in ANH Revisited, I noticed that before Vader’s duel with Obi-Wan, the sound effect of his lightsaber turning on is not the “hissing” sound it usually has. Could you please fix them?
